read this thread first.

okay, so you're done now, are you. anyways, after reading that thread, I was thinking that they could really implement some kind of mercenary kind of thing that you have to apply for and there could be some kind of screen next to the Auction House that lists all the knights that are for hire. And each knight's name is clickable to access their info.

EX:

Name: Lordofnecromancers
Equipts: (List equipts here).
Tier: 2
Payment: (Insert payment here)
Rating (black list, not black list, etc.) : (instert ratings here)
Successful missions: (insert here)
Unsuccessful missions: (insert here)
Specialities: (Graveyards, arenas, etc.)
Avaiablility (available, on mission, off line, not available for hire; is chilling out/doing run of his/her own):

there could also be a black list... list.

anyways, something like this. comments and improvements are welcome.

EDIT: *see post # 5

Maybe they could add something to the HUD to see which Knights are available.

+1

I see a lot of competitive potential. Shouldn't players be allowed to show/hide some of the fields (like equipment)?

How about simply being

How about simply being generous with your time and helping out for free?

Besides, on runs your "pay" is the cr/mats/heat you already gain.

Also, usually the time someone is needed is during a clockwork run (and wasn't known beforehand)... so how would they check the AH?

Plus, when someone needs help more often than I can give it, I suggest a guild... isn't that what they are for as well?

You could do guild

You could do guild competitions... but that leads to lockdown, and then the subject of a new minigame...

But if you did turn this idea into a minigame, it could be something like you have to go into the clockworks to find a certain material, or kill a certain monster, etc.

I signed up on the thread....

I signed up on the thread.... and while this isn't necessary, it would help out the newer players quite a bit, to learn from the "mercenaries". Perhaps it could be made a bit more simple, like TF2's coaching system, but better?

Also, if a new haven expansion comes up, this would be a nice addition, as some kind of building.

I pick up nubs or near-nubs

I pick up nubs or near-nubs on perhaps 30% of my runs.

I don't ask for compensation for them to join me, or ask to run with me, or answer questions...

Another problem: Why would they pay you after they've gotten you to join? And how could they pay you in advance... besides in game mail (which they'd have to pay 100cr to send).

Wait... another problem: why would ooo put this in and have to deal with the oversight of it?

They don't bother/help with "verbal agreements" that turn into scams... so why should they add a new headache to the interface that they'll have to work the bugs from, just to get a whole lot of fun time weeding through more "so-n-so wasn't a good mercenary!" or "they didn't pay me for the run!"

What on earth is in it for ooo? (Meaning fiscally ofc)

If you join random parties, you don't have a gaurenty you'll end up with a good, non-nooby party. Then again, you wouldn't have to pay. Unless the party leader holds everyone hostage at the elevator stating the if they don't pay him, he'll kick everyone or something of that sort.

"Another problem: Why would they pay you after they've gotten you to join? And how could they pay you in advance... besides in game mail (which they'd have to pay 100cr to send)."

I don't really understand what you're trying to say. But if you're saying what I think you're saying, they pay you after you finish you job. Not like, "Okay I just joined you for a job but you have to pay me 1000 cr first."

but if the clients don't pay... well, I'll have to think about that.

Maybe there could be some kind of list for mercenaries that shows the names + pics of any clients they served before, and wether they did/didn't pay you. As for clients, it shows which Knights they hired and wether or not they succeded and if they were payed.

Actually, what I'm trying to

Actually, what I'm trying to say is I'd rather OOO focus on fixing the broken bits of SK or adding some genuine new content.

And I'm not talking about joining random parties, though I've met people in those as well. I'm talking about starting an open party, making friends with players that join me and helping them when they ask for it (well as long as it's not begging... ). I'm talking about answering questions in Haven, and if someone asks for help running the JK just saying yes. I'm talking about not asking nubs or even a more seasoned players to pay for the company of a knight. I'm talking about people just being decent enough to help one another out for... gasp... free.

If you need examples, let me know...

Read the first sentence over again. Then read my last post.
