I've been thinking for a good while that a water stratum would be a great addition to this game. The main mechanic would be water, which slows a knights movement (because the armor gets rusty). Water however doesn't slow down attack movement so it isn't like stun! Then there could be Gun puppies that shoot water shots that cause 5 second speed decrease and Jelly cubes that move faster in water. It's not much right now but this is all I can think of...

My friend told me there should be a Lumber that does a special elemental attack when he's in the water. Something like a wave attack :) also he said that when you step on a team switch that water should flood the area.
I was also thinking that an ice based weapon would have a larger attack radius and the elemental power could be slightly higher, and for fire weapons that would be switched. The radius for fire weapons is smaller and the elemental attack power is lower.
^ Then my mercurial shall kill everything that's on water. Same when I use any other shock weapon.
An iteresting mechanic, but doesn't make sense with the rest of the game. If we follow that logic, then shivermist needs to become useless on vanaduke since all the fire would melt the ice in less than a second, and all the fire weapons should be extremely powerfull there instead of being bad options to take.
Actually Ice shouldn't have a larger radius but should give better chance of freezing. Electricity should be used very carefully because it can shock the entire water and hurt friends and foes! Also i feel there could be a mechanic of whirlpools that suck you into the center of it and won't release you until it shuts down. You can still attack things though.
@Snesrocks Would the whirlpools work like a Graviton Bomb, and it keeps you there until you hit a switch or kill some mobs? That would be FUN, imo.
the water stratum sounds really fun and there could be like a new status like waterblight (stealing from MH cuz i cant think of nothing) and like how stun deacreas all movement by 80% and poison decreases armor and attack and cant heal. waterblight or soaked (thought of something) decreases running speed by 50% and lowers your armor value by a bit because it gets "rusty". also new brandish line: waveburst
Look i think that slowing your movement and stuff is too much like stun so heres an alternative. Think about water not like a status but as lets say oil.
Oil gets caught on fire and then a big wall of fire is around you. If water is like that it would spread the shock and freeze status.
Maybe the soaked status should just make your defense go down until you get out of the water. Whirlpools are kinda like traps in all honesty, they make you sit and wait to get out but cause no damage to you. Now I think the water lumber should do an elemental attack that creates a whirlpool wherever it's punch hits! And of course the shock the water idea shouldn't freeze anyone but give them shock!
Okay so me and my friend were saying that having water slow movements, not allow healing, and lowering defense is stupid, however just lowering defense is much better compared to the other ideas! I haven't seen any other effect like that yet so it sounds more original than just ripping off stun and poison. Also I like people adding what they think should be added rather than agreeing and disagreeing on ideas :) Gives others the chance to expand on ideas others put out! Like if anything, robot enemies (non-water based) should get fried if electric goes through the water! Another thing, sometimes hitting a switch should make the water level rise/lower so you can open new paths and stuff.
how about a swamp. It's sort of like the water idea, but it slows down movement and attack speed. I'm just throwing out ideas for someone else to add on to. I can't think of much else
Okay, I've thought of a new type of slime species.
Name: Backwater Blob
Description T1: Easily moves about in the water as if it were skating on it.
T2: Same as tier 1 but can revive itself in water. Kill it out of the water!
T3: Can create more of itself when in water and can revive itself and others.
Drops: Jelly Core
If anyone wants to expand that one then go right on ahead!
I think the Backwater Blob should have a murky coloration, and have some sea flora stuck on it's head. Also, it shouldn't be able to spawn more of themselves. Not even the Royal Jelly does that, and it DEFINITELY has the mass to do so. Maybe Backwater Bloblets?
Okay Alphastevo. That look and coloration will really fit the Backwater Blob and I guess being able to make more of itself is kinda cheap... Maybe it is able to drop water blobs like oil lichens drop oil. And if you kill it on one of those even if it's out of the water it will still revive itself.

Okay I finally thought of the Lumber enemy for water stratums!
Name: Wrathful Willow
Description T1: One smack, even when out of water can cause soaked status and stun status making this Lumber relative something to be feared.
T2: If in water, it is able to use it's fist to create a small wave that causes elemental damage.
T3: Along with an upgraded wave attack, this monstrosity can even create a whirlpool wherever it's fist lands!
Body description: A normal looking Lumber with a small weeping willow on it's head and a mass of water on it's attacking fist. Instead of green eyes it has blue eyes.

Name: Muddy Mongrel
Description All tiers: Acts like a red rover, but instead shoots a whirlpool bomb. If someone touches the whirlpool bomb they not only take damage but get stuck in a whirlpool as well!
