Hey guys, I was just wondering what you guys would suggest as a 4 weapon loadout. It doesn't really matter about armour or trinkets but I know that at least one of the slots will be a DA. I would prefer to use this loadout against everything so it needs to be balanced. It can contain bombs, guns and swords, preferably a mix of all of them. It would probably have 2 swords in it, but it doesn't have too. Just in case any of you would wonder my armour would be some kind of Skolver and some kind of hood.

Thanks a ton for any advice. :)

If you insist on one loadout

If you insist on one loadout for general Clockworks use. However, keep in mind that this would not be a good loadout for FSC.

DA
BTB or Final Flourish
GF or Acheron
Polaris for gun puppies

yep

Hyalos proposes a good sword-heavy loadout. Polaris could be replaced with any elemental gun, and DA could be replaced with any elemental sword.

Another idea: Switch out the gun for a support bomb such as Shivermist Buster, Voltaic Tempest, or a Vortex.

If you wanted to carry fewer swords, the obvious sword to give up would be the elemental sword, because you probably want your gun to be elemental. But that's not what you want to hear, so I won't say it. ;)

Thanks for the help with gear but as you said this wouldn't be a good loadout for FSC then what would be?
Also it would be cool if you created a mostly gunner loadout or a mostly bomber loadout for general use.

Thanks!

Good FSC loadout : - Levi

Good FSC loadout :
- Levi (for Mask phase)
- DA (general zombies killing)
- Shivermist (great utility, freeze vana/trojans)
- Blitz Needle (Trojans/Vana body killer)

Gunner loadout :
- Callahan (or Blitz Needle if you can handle it)
- Elemental Alchemer (which one is up to you)
- Umbra Driver/Biohazard
- Levi or Shivermist as support weapon

Bomber loadout
- DBB (use Nitronome if you are solo)
- Ash of Agni
- Voltaic Tempest
- support weapon, like Polaris or Leviathan

That's what i would use for general purpose. Change it according the strata.

for FSC

For FSC, you don't need any shadow weapon. A piercing sword is not useless, but a piercing gun is much more useful. Some crowd-control bomb is useful, such as Shivermist Buster or Voltaic Tempest. To make this more explicit:
* My typical loadout is piercing sword, elemental sword, and shadow sword.
* My FSC loadout is Divine Avenger, Blitz Needle, Shivermist Buster.
So you can see how even a pure swordsman adopts a specialized mixed setup for FSC. In particular, if you can obtain either Blitz Needle or Shivermist Buster, then you will be much more valuable to FSC parties.

My general purpose loadout

My general purpose loadout is:

Glacius
Acheron
BTB
Electron Vortex

All my swords combo well with the Vortex and offer full damage type coverage.

DA (like you said) GF (this

DA (like you said)
GF (this way you have 2 heavy swords and can use them in every situation so no need to get the Troika line)
shivermist (or any other bomb)
polaris (like stated realy good against construct)

you can switch the GF with a piercing weapon if you need it that much (beasts and fiends have weakness to piercing but i use GF for beasts and DA for fiends)

this is my loadout (except for the bomb i don't use bombs) and i never have to worry i don't have decent weapons with me (i don't notice the lack of piercing)

any two of {piercing, elemental, shadow} is enough

Kickthebucket recommends DA and GF, so that "you have 2 heavy swords and can use them in every situation so no need to get the Troika line". But even if you don't have DA and don't have GF, there is still no need to get a Troika. In general, there is no need to have a heavy sword at all, although I do agree that everyone should give heavy swords a try.

Kickthebucket remarks that he doesn't need piercing. Any impressionable youths reading this thread should note that you don't need any *one* of the non-normal damage types. You can do very well with just elemental and shadow, or with just elemental and piercing, or with just shadow and piercing. Roughly speaking, carrying two non-normal damage types lets you do huge damage to 4/6 of monsters, and moderate damage to the other 2/6; you're never dealing low damage to anything.

All the posts

Thanks to everyone who posted a loadout. Now I know what stuff I should aim to get. But as you have said I can swap somethings with something else to create a loadout of weapons I like. If you have any more suggestions please tell them to me and any other people who are reading this thread. :)
