The reason I want this is because I recently got scammed and wasn't even sure what happened until I realized that my ce did not go up, I tried to walk back but couldn't find the person to see if maybe it was even an honest ( though bad ) mix up.

I scrolled through the chat log to find the trade information and did find that I was paid in crowns not in ce, it stated what I had traded but not who with, I vaguely remember the username but it was sort of odd, one of those that perhaps the person was lazy and made up a non-sense word so I couldn't remember enough to back track, I tried re-shouting my offer to attract them back but they never showed.

I still hold out some hope that this was an honest mistake but thing is I have heard of knights doing this on purpose, last minute switching offers and hoping the other knight doesn't notice, or in my case is also slightly dyslexic.

If all else fails I could have filed a complaint if I had the username as I was shouting the offer repeatedly before the trade so I do have proof of what the offer was and not that I was just changing my mind or something.

um...

Couldn't you have scanned back further into the chat log looking for the chat with the player you traded with?

Anyway, I guess this idea would help. +1

Man, I hope that it was just a mistake, I don't like scammers, not one bit :/

yeah, I looked in the log

yeah, I looked in the log but all I got was this http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198046005841/screenshot/61497244...

That was how I knew for sure that it had go down wrong, the offer I was shouting was,
" selling mod calibrator + 3000 crowns for 200 ce, to be clear that is you give me 200 crystal energy and you receive 3000 crowns and 1 mod calibrator "

My reasoning being that mod calibrators are once again worth 10,000+ so when you ad 3000 crowns that is 13k for 200 energy, or 6,500 crowns for 100 ce

But as you can see what I was given was 200 crowns, I also scanned the chat for anything that person said but found absolutely nothing, I couldn't recall the name enough to call out for it but I knew I would recognize it if I saw it, but where I think the "who" should be is with the blue text, you have,
" trade between liveice and **** successful! you got (200 crowns and 0 crystal energy).
You gave (Mod Calibrator, 3000 crowns and 0 crystal energy) "

Yup

I like that idea. I HOPE it was just a misunderstanding, but I doubt it.

Anyway, +1 for this idea. Couldn't hurt in any way, right?

yup, I don't see how it could

yup, I don't see how it could hurt, just one little change in text sent by the system and could help in many scam cases

Indeed I should have, thats

Indeed I should have, thats actually what I said to my guild mates who were online at the time and served as an audience for me to vent to, basically I said in the end all I could do was move on a valuable lesson learned,

also another thing I have become aware of since posting this string is the crystal energy history we have access to, also an interesting thought on how we could keep track of our business transactions but as this would be a longer history it might hold a higher risk of knights looking back and reporting a trade as a scam that was actually fully agreed upon at the time but they are just wanting to take out some sort of buyers remorse on some knight who just thought he was getting a nice deal
