Disconnecting (Suggestion to OOO)

So a few days ago, i decided to solo Vana for my first time. Everything was going great, until i disconnected during phase 3 and got killed. Which cost me 10 CE :(

So my suggestion to OOO, is that they make it so disconnected players dont take damage. (like when your loading) It's not fair that i die whilst disconnected and end up having to spend my CE for revs. (unless im in a party)

I agree; I never had this problem but I still think it's more fair for players.

Agree FTW!!! I really think this should be implemented - I usually play on my laptop using a wireless connection, which, btw, is not great /lol . So I am in a perpetual state of bad latency, and loading can take more than 5 minutes (thus leading to my discovery that you can chat while loading!!) Anyways, this would be really helpful for players such as I, so that we dont end up having to spend a *$^#load of energy before you actually get to do anything...

I dont see how this could be implemented. And its very easy to abuse.

You do a golden survivor achievment in group, you are about to die *puff* you turn switch on on your wifi-card and you are DCed, system protects you, while party takes care of everything and then you connect up again.

Also ppl could use it to 'pause' game at any time by DCing on purpose. Pause in mmo game? Its strange.

There are surely many other ways to abuse this system, becouse, lets face it, its a switch on-off immortality (without ability to move and interact but yet immortality) and im sure that other ppl will find many other ways to abuse it if it would be implemented.

And as much as i dont like being killed becouse DC, i dont see it implemented becouse of many potential flaws and if there were restrictions put on this to prevent them im would affect gameplay experience of those who dont DC and dont have problems like that.

Therfore im against.

Asuka is right, but this

Asuka is right, but this could be fixed very simply.
Today, from the moment you are disconnected, you have more than a minute before being moved to the login screen, and even after that if you reconnect and relogin, you'll spawn right back at wherever you were.
To fix/prevent this kind of exploit, players should be given less time to have the chance to reconnect and if they are moved to the login screen, they should spawn in Haven, instead.
Yes, it would still be a little exploitable, but much less than if the OP's suggestion was implemented alone.

"To fix/prevent this kind of exploit, players should be given less time to have the chance to reconnect and if they are moved to the login screen, they should spawn in Haven, instead." Less than what? Less than a minute?

This is what im telling about. THING that will be done, to fix a problem with exploiting feature that was stupid from the beginning will hurt other players who would not even think about exploiting(which i can say without a fear are a majority. On slow connections, weak PCs and when servers are overloaded it can take even 3 minutes to restart brower/start game up again then load into game. Sometimes you need to restart your router that is in other room.

People are sick of limitations that are result of jerks abusing exploits or idiots who cant control movements (aka 3second waiting time before you can buy item one after another from AH).

For me current system is perfectly fine. When you DC you have 15 minutes to reconnect again before you will be kicked out from game due to idelness.
If you die during that time, sorry but these are the negative sides of MMO games.

ps.
A wise man said once "Dont fix things that are not broken". You saw recent OOO update? It fixed some silly things that were profitable for only a part of SK community (instead of implementing suggestions that would make gaming experience better for ALL PLAYERS) while breaking other more important things (aka black screen of death bug). And with all that, OOO just sits silently laughing at us being dragged away from the biggest problem new actual content.

Yep, I see your

Yep, I see your point.
Although, If ppl want to play MMOs they should get themselves the best internet connection possible. If they experience frequent internet disconnections and take several minutes to re-estabilish it, they should play something else. Single player games, flash games, console games, whatever, they just shouldn't play MMOs.
I'm just trying to be realistic.

I can say same about you who

I can say same about you who want to be protected during DC that if you experience disconnections that make you die, you should play something else that is single player and where loosing connection to internet wont make you die.

What are you talking about?

"...you who want to be protected during DC..."
I'm only defending a cause which seems reasonable enough, not for personal gain -.- I don't even get DCs
Chill.

I agree with blue. Why are you always on the offensive?
