There's a lot of smartphone/tablet craze going around these days, and as such, some people want portable versions of their favorite games.
One of these games might be Spiral Knights for a lot of people, as it's fun to play, easy, doesn't require many buttons and mostly runs flawlessly.
A port of Spiral Knights for iOS or Android would be nice to have when you have an Internet connection available and want to kill some time and don't have a computer around.

Advantages:
-Spiral Knights on the go would be fun for long trips.
-Simple to play, would only need the touch screen to play it, as you could just move by dragging your finger accross the screen and attack by tapping twice, speak to NPCs by tapping, etc.
-The game runs on Java, so it wouldn't be hard to port.

It doesn't need to be a 100% perfect carbon print of the original game, it doesn't need to be ultra detailed. Just Spiral Knights.

I would love to see Spiral

I would love to see Spiral Knights on Android. Since it's a Java based game it shouldn't be to difficult to port over. There aren't many controls for this game either, so an "analog" control on the left side and a few "buttons" on the right for touch screen controls.

I've been reading a few threads about this subject, and I see a lot of people saying it can't be done based on hardware restrictions. Let's get that myth out of the way right now:
Nvidia Tegra 3 + Shadowgun THD
Even the Tegra 2 could handle games like Shadowgun and GTA III. Yeah, I get it, these games were optimized to run on the Tegra, but considering the power of these processors it wouldn't take much to get Spiral Knights on my Asus Transformer Prime.

I'm really looking forward to Sonic the Hedgehog 4 on Android, and would love to see more Sega games being developed for this platform.

I think you got that the

I think you got that the wrong way around. SK is java, so if anything, "iDevice needs to support SK", not the other way around. The places where this suggestion belongs are:
1) Manufacturer of your device / OS where java does not run properly.
2) Oracle or the openjre project, depending on what you are using.
3) The guys who did that opengl / 3d API thingy. Forgot the name. Anyway, this is another place to find and go if SK does not work with your hardware.

I got it

I recently found out how to play SK on iPhones. All u have to do is download the app slashtop from the App Store and download it on the computer then u have to create an account or if u already have one then log in. Then go near your computer and there should be a bar with a computer on it and u tap it. Then it should your desktop (so u can see your computers desktop on your phone) and open spiral knights. Then if you can see the log in screen on your phone then it works and u can log in. If the screens black then that meens that it doesn't work. When you download it make sure it's the personal version. Hope you like this.

ps.

this works on any ios device

Necro a thread, get ranted on.

Make a new thread, have it pointed out how many times this has already been suggested, then get ranted on.
