^what is it?
Highest money earning mission
Rise or Fall (5-2-3) gives 3100-3400cr. Maybe some 6-2 mission is better, I don't know for sure.
My research, let me show you it: http://i.imgur.com/FrzzD.jpg
Best i got (today) was 3610 crowns from the Rise or Fall mission, worst i got was ~2900.
@Shootertrouble: have you tried killing Lichens before they merge? That would boost your crowns gain.
Well, I have heard this before, but instinct always said something different. Thus science to the rescue: http://i.imgur.com/2EqJY.jpg
Draw your own conclusions or, better yet, test some and share your findings.
My conclusion is that you are letting lichens merge, not to mention you never even got as much as 3300 crowns.
Well, I was soloing (which may mean less crowns) so I couldn't catch every single little lichen before it merged... But none of them ever reached spike stage. Still, the difference is clearly minimal, might as well merge or not merge.
i've never had more than 3200 crowns either, and i don't tend to let them merge. A 400 crown difference is fairly large, could you post some screenshots from the end of your runs, as well as any other possible differences? merging lichens can't be the only one.
It takes 4 to get the to the spike stage so yeah; if you ever want to test it properly (since i won't; no elevator pass) you can use a fixed spawn level (aurora isles come to mind only atm).
There is some difference between having the huge spike/claw lichen (which is the case in all the op runs, since I prefer the big ones) and the small ones where at most two or three have merged... So if over 20 missions the average difference is 50 crowns I'd have to say there's no real difference.
Each, smallest lichen has a chance to drop a gold coin. I think i only saw once a the biggest colony to drop two gold coins.
Also, like i said, if you want me to take you seriously you gotta test it in levels with fixed spawns, Lichenous Lairs are different every run and the amount of enemies on them can vary, so can vary the amount of lichens on the arena in the mission. There is too many factors to take in so you can't really claim what you said.
Which is why I did 12 runs on one and 8 on another and gave average values... So that it would even out (more or less, of course). As the amount of runs goes up the precision would increase as well, but I'm not planning to do 100's of runs on each (although who knows, they are fun).
Either way documented 20 runs are probably more useful than a single statement, the players can come to their own conclusions.
I always let them merge.
Run 1 - 3062cr
Run 2 - 2977cr
Run 3 - 3221cr
Run 4 - 3329cr
Run 5 - 2776cr
Run 6 - 2732cr
Run 7 - 3503cr
Run 8 - 2661cr
Run 9 - 3254cr
Run 10 - 2756cr
You admitted yourself that you let them merge so all that "documented" stuff is invalid, what you did is provide pictures of the end screen of the mission which proves... nothing.
Thats my last post about this, if you want to continue, acclaim the factors i mentioned and do proper testing not some halfhearted attempts at.
I said that no lichen ever even reached the spike stage, as opposed to having large claw lichen that take like 10 or more standard lichen to make. Thus I'd say it's different enough to be admissible as evidence.
And to repeat: Of course it's not real science, that would take 100's or 1000's of runs to account for the randomness. Still, if despite the randomness the results are so close some conclusions can be reached. That's it.
Profitability could be measured by the formula: (Earning+Mat sold price)/Time spending. so I guess Whipping and Mishandling is the most profitable one as you can get nice mat (worth 2k cr/run) and 2500cr in 14-16min. (Total profitability for this mission is 300cr/min including mat earning)

sadly, i must've hit F11 when i went on that 3610 crowns run as i can't find the screenshot and not letting them merge is the only thing that i've been doing
still, the 3500cr one is significantly more than i have received. I will attempt a few of these and keep my end of mission results. May I ask what weapons you are using for this?
Combuster / Acheron / Barbarous Thorn Blade / Ash of Agni, Skolver set + Swiftstrike Buckler + 1x Elite Slash Module + 1x Quick Strike Module
I'm getting max Damage and ultra ASI with this setup, when i solo, i can twoshot the smallest lichens even at the arena

Thought i should show this
Wait, so you DON'T want lichens to merge? I always thought you got more profit from letting them merge to the Giant Colony....
Maybe jelly king mission gives you only 2,5 k crowns, but if you're planing some bigger shopping, every 5 jelly king missions you can buy 3* armor/helmet/shield and sell it.
Those seems to give much more profit than others. Rise or Fall as pointed out, but Time Enough At Last is fine too (2.9-3.1k average). JK mission is also a good way to farm Jelly Gems, even though it has less payouts.
Now if they released an FSC mission...
I just did rise or fall this morning and didn't let the lichen merge (a few exceptions where I couldn't do anything about it) and I only got ~3440. I did 6-2-2 (the mission with the undead/fiends) and got similar payout with better mats.
Which is better? Who really cares, since I can get more in FSC, or T3 arenas (last few T3 non FSC runs have netted me multiple excellent mats like Dragon Scale, Spark of Life, and Primal Ore). I recently ran the JK gate T3 and beat all 3 arenas solo with no revives. Not the best payout in direct crowns, but tons of mats.
For missions, I believe that the RJP is the best place to get money. Don't go saying "But the arena gave me 3K!"
Just do Depth 14 & 15, skip the boss, and you should have around 2200 crowns.
If you have the elevator pass, then yeah it is probably better to do the arena.
2200cr for 20ce is the same as 3300cr for 30ce. It is just a matter of which you have time for, and which one you want to do.
If you have an elevator pass, then you should really be doing whichever mission is the fastest (probably the 2 levels of RJP).
"Which is better? Who really cares, since I can get more in FSC, or T3 arenas"
The difference is that there is no FSC mission, so you rely either on luck when joining random parties or on your guildies/friends or you suck it up and go from Emberlight, meanwhile, you can do the mission any time you want.
"better mats."
This is simply not true, ghost bells (good luck getting a drop of one) aside, all the other materials are junk that everyone has tons and doesn't sell , even mugs of misery fall down to as much as 400 crowns.
Its all about efficiency - want to have the fastest crown gain without having to rely on anything? The arena mission is the obvious choice, do it, back to haven, drop off warp dusts/bushy tails/drake scales/monster bones/green shards in AH and do it again.
Mabey last month I did this trick(I cant belive I forgot it).But there was a HUGE glitch someone bought it can when I looked in auction it said 600 but.....................................
**6000**!!
..that is completely off topic. Why are you talking about a material costing a extra 0 glitch on this thread of all threads?
@Thread Recently I did the royal jelly mission run again, and I got 2800 cr.
I had no idea what I did, other then doing the boss because I got the elevator pass yesterday.
O_o
