Purchasing Expansion Missions now mark your account as 'paid' and offering the standard paid account benefits.
May i ask what those benefits are?

That's a tough question. Multiboxing where you essentially bring an alternate account with you to gain crowns and heat is as far as I can tell against the ToS, but having an alt account that you essentially just craft on or just play with and don't play both at once is ok, from what I can tell. And if you keep paying to get more, I don't think OOO will mind too much.
actually, I think they are encouraging siblings or family members to have a few pay accounts so everyone can play without being limited to 100me per day. I wouldn't play this game with 100me shared between my wife and I (if she actually played).
What I want to know, is if I gift this to someone else via steam, does it make their account a paid account?
Alynn - Currently the only material benefit is the personal mist, however if we were to say, purge ancient, unused accounts far in the future, paid accounts would never be affected.
Nordlead - If you obtain DLC as a gift, your account would be 'paid' as well. Someone simply paid for you.
@Nick:
Sweet deals! I may have to save up my CE and find a seller.
Nick, that wasn't what i meant.
What I wanted to ask was the multi-account issue.
Are we allowed to have, use, and play with multiple accounts at the same time?
I think this has been adressed before, although I am too lazy to dig up threads on it.
IIRC multiboxing is fine as long as you don't use any programs/software that allows you to control more than one account at the same time. Meaning logging on more than one at a time is allowed as long as you alt+tab between them.
@Alynn:
I think I know what you mean. The separate mist when one account becomes paid thing is intended to be used among the 3 characters you can create in the game (I think). I guess it's sort of an incentive for people who may want to ragecraft or try a different play style to spend a little money.
Everyone get up to max 2 free accounts.
Everyone get unlimited paid accounts. (<-not 100% sure)
I think Nick is saying that the package "Purchasing Expansion Missions" was not triggering the FREE into PAID accounts but are now FIXED.
so.......as a free player:
How many accounts can you make?
Can you log into all of them at the same time?
Can you play (run clockworks) with them at the same time?
Three free accounts. You can log into them all at once and play in the clockworks with them (i.e., multibox), but any "performance enhancing" software--bots, etc.--is forbidden by the Terms of Service.
Where do we see if our account is paid or not? Also how do you log into 3 accounts at the same time?
Thanks Eury, all this time I've been running 4 accounts through FSC I've been feeling like a criminal ^^;
But when I do it just jumps from account to account and won't stay logged in.
when you open a new SK, lets say directly off the webpage, make sure you are logged off of the website so you can manually log in using the client.
@Nick
"...however if we were to say, purge ancient, unused accounts far in the future, paid accounts would never be affected."
If OOO does decide to purge ancient unused accounts, would accounts containing CE be purged? If so, what will happen to that CE....deleted from the game as well?
This is a quite important question as CE is only placed into the game with real money. If an account with CE is deleted and the CE goes with it, then essentially OOO will be pocketing it. It would be no different than a Bank deleting an old account of somebody who died or have long forgotten about it and keeping the money.
Anyone can tell me if now his/her account is marked as paid because mine isn`t.
@Alynn
"when you open a new SK, lets say directly off the webpage, make sure you are logged off of the website so you can manually log in using the client."
I use Steam and I open SK up twice and it logs me on in one and when I click log on in the other it logs me off the one I am currently logged in to.
you are attempting to log into the same account twice? obviously thats not going to work.............
log into 2 separate accounts. not 2 characters on 1 account, 2 different accoutns
@Blitzwingoo
Banks do that already. Didn't you know? The money is usually forfeited to the government instead though.
I'd also like to point out that it would only delete CE from accounts that haven't bought anything themselves, so even then, whoever bought the CE in the first place got the use they wanted out of it (likely selling it for crowns or somesuch). Calling it a scam on OOO part would be silly.
MMOs kind of suffer from namelocking issues the older they get anyway, so ancient account purging isn't that bad of a thing. Mind you, they shouldn't need to worry about that kind of thing for a half decade, so Nick is looking FAR into the future. >_>
OT:
Well, not quite OT, but I thought multiboxing was considered poor form since you're basically making 2-4x the money in the same amount of time. Guess that verdict got overturned.
"Banks do that already. Didn't you know? The money is usually forfeited to the government instead though."
Banks are not the same entity as the Government. The government represents the people (in theory).....so by the government getting the money, it goes back to the people. So using this analogy for the Bank being OOO and government being the players, the CE should go back to the players.
"I'd also like to point out that it would only delete CE from accounts that haven't bought anything themselves, so even then, whoever bought the CE in the first place got the use they wanted out of it (likely selling it for crowns or somesuch). Calling it a scam on OOO part would be silly."
What if the original buyer gifted it to the account to be deleted? The original buyer got nothing then. Regardless how any account obtained CE, the CE is still money and is un-used and therefore should be considered as un-earned money for OOO. If OOO pockets it, I would consider it as akin to stealing.
@Nick - I'm still awaiting your response to my prior question.
Nick is not looking far into the future. Since this game doesn't allow digits in the names, we're going to run into a namelock much sooner than any other MMO game.
yeah but they let you use an absurd amount of characters...
@Blitzwingoo
1) Fair enough. But then it's the government taking something it had no real claim over either, blah blah blah. Whether it goes back to other people who likewise didn't earn it is irrelevant. Besides, you brought up this point to admonish people taking away stuff you've left alone for ages, and yet it *is* done in the real world and is fairly common at that too.
2) They bought it and gave it as a gift. Whether the "account pending deletion" did anything with it is irrelevant, and you know it. Also, tell me what the difference is between an account that has been left and forgotten for years on end, and a deleted account. Answer; virtually none, only the former takes up server space and player names. The CE on the account doesn't effect the market either way. It's virtually sunk.
I'm gonna try to stop arguing in circles or batting back "<1%" exception cases, which I suspect you'll start to use (inb4 "zomg, they might come back after being gone for years").
Doubt it. There is support for the hyphen and a pretty large amount of characters in a username. You'll just have to a bit more creative come next year in SK. Then again, I see a healthy amount gibberish names now.
@Blitz I don't think that the devs are planning anything like a purge in the imminent future. As far as MMOs go, if you're inactive for 3+ years, its immensely more likely you wont be come back any time soon. Now, these are going to be old, early-game accounts, before 5*s and the general need to carry tens of thousands of ce on you. Many of these accounts could be people who made an account and left because they didn't enjoy the game. Maybe they're Alts people made and never ended up investing much time into. The point is, many of the purged accounts would not have much ce at all, if any. Either way, that ce is out of circulation, but leaving them be would just hog very nice usernames for newer users.

1) OOO shouldn't be deleting accounts in the first place
2) If OOO is going to delete the accounts, they should at least sell back the CE to the community through the Energy Market or something like that instead of pocketing the CE. They should not be allowed to profit from deleting accounts like this because that could be seen as stealing.
3) Just because it happens in the real world and maybe fairly common doesn't make it right. Begging and scamming is fairly common in the real world too.
"Also, tell me what the difference is between an account that has been left and forgotten for years on end, and a deleted account. Answer; virtually none, only the former takes up server space and player names. The CE on the account doesn't effect the market either way. It's virtually sunk."
There is no difference to us, but there is a difference to OOO....they get out of their obligation to provide services for the CE that was paid for. So in effect they're pocketing it. I'm saying no, they can't do that (if they do plan to do that). I'm saying they should give it back to the community.
@Dukeplatypus
Yeah it's probably likely old unused accounts don't have much CE in them.....but if you add up all the CE from all the accounts to be deleted, it could be a significant amount of CE and money that was spent on it. Haven't you seen that old Superman movie where they hack the pay-roll at a company so that they would get all the half-pennies that were rounded down from people's paychecks and it added up to millions? Yeah well, it's happened a bunch of times in real life and people have been busted by the cops for it.
Mine isn't either and i can't submit a support ticket as the page appears to be blank on my PC (no firewall blocking it, no viruses, java script enabled on all webbrowsers, in other words, PEBKAC is not happening here) so what was the support email again?
Astroempires deletes your free account after 15 days of inactivity. How is this any different?
Other accounts on your computer have separate mist from your regular account, so you basically have an alternate supply of mist. Not sure if there are others, but that's are the big one.
