Reverse mechanics on Catalyzer lines

Why not reverse the way the catalyzer mechanics work?

- The normal shots deal damage and set charges on targets. To prevent mass charge setting, only a maximum of 5(too little, too many?) charges may be present at once. So, if one mob already has 5 charges, no more charges may be set on any mob until the charges are set off or disappear.

- The charge shot itself will not do damage. It will, however, travel about 2 times faster than a normal shot.

- Charge time will be double(triple?) of what it is now.

- The explosions deal 20 percent more damage than a normal shot and have the same blast radius as an expanded polaris shot. Instead of knockback, they will interrupt mobs in the same way the callahan does.

These are aimed at making the catalyzer lines more useful in parties, cause right now the mob will be dead by the time your ready to set off charges if you like stacking and using one charge at a time is not as effective. I'd like to hear others opinion on this if they care to share it.

:/

Do you even have a cata line?

One of the best things you can do, is charge+normal shot. This will throw an enemy to the right (the charge starts at North, it then rotates 90 degrees around, before being exploded at West), and typically out of harms way. Not to mention that it'd have to be rebalanced... I am in favor of buffing the catas though. They're one of the more interesting lines of weaponry.

I do have a biohazard, I

I do have a biohazard, I wouldn't suggest a change to something I never used, or used only a few times for that matter.

I have tried the charge + normal shot thing, and while it works ok I find if it was an umbra driver instead the mob would probably be dead or close to it. You could also fire 2 normal shots, shield bump, then fire 2 normal shots again in about the same amount of time and with much more controlled bump direction. Also there's the problem of another enemy moving in front of your desired target after firing the normal shot, which seems to happen often.

I do appreciate the feed back though, and it is fun using it regardless.

This idea is so simple... yet

This idea is so simple... yet so genius. It would make using these weapons infinitely more effective than the current mechanics.
