Patch Notes - March 8, 2012

Items
- Blessed and Sacred Silver Amulets have had their star values corrected.
- Volcanic Demo Suit now has a medium CTR boost.
Levels
- Fixed a broken monster gate in Lounge Lizards level that was causing some players to get stuck.
- Fixed a naming issue with a floor in Beyond Axes of Evil.
Operation Crimson Hammer
- Silence the Guns - Addressing issue where the battle room gate would not lower for some players
Misc
- Newly-created knights will not receive new-mail notifications about announcements in the Crash Site.
- Added a link to clear saved credit card information in the Energy Depot.
Well, a little boost to the bombers CTR and fixed amulet exploit.

They didnt patch the gate in the PvP lobby.....

Now, let's talk about that Bombastic Demo Set...

now they should fix the gunner damage helm/armor.

A bunch of other improvements to weapons and gear are inbound. The volcanic demo suit was just a simple fix.

Hey, if this one equip fix per patch stays constant, I'll be happy.

I'm just glad I read the forums and know the patch changes before I login and play that way it is the monitor at work that gets punched instead of my personal laptop.

I only reported the amulet oversight months ago. Took their time.

Aww, but I've been enjoying vendoring the 4* amulets up until now :(

And make Salamander, Valkrie, Silvermail, Dragonscale, and Chaos all sword-only while they're at it. Or, they could leave Deadshot like it is.

Deadshot came from the GUNSLINGER alchemy line. It's LOGIC that it give a buff to gunners.

If one of the monster family damage sets is restricted to one weapon type, why can't they all be? You'll get your gun-only undead bonus, and we'll get our own sword-only damage sets. Hell, make a gremlin-damage set for bombs only while we're at it. Seems perfectly fair to restrict 'em like that.
(I'm outlining to you why it's a stupid idea to restrict it like you--and most other gunners--seem to want)
In response to the whole "comes from a gunslinger alchemy line" thing, riddle me this: What is the definition of alchemy?
(Spoiler: Most definitions will point to some variation of "chaging something into something different." So why can a gunslinger armor not be alchemized into a general-purpose armor, given that to alchemize is to change something?)

A gunner buff would generally be a CTR, ASI or Damage Increase. Since there's already ASI and Damage Increase, so maybe CTR.
If you want a set like Deadshot ask the devs to put it else where like in the Angelic set.

...Everyone who's ever argued they want Deadshot to be gunner only. What you're saying you want is a CTR set for gunners; that is something I'm perfectly fine with. Honestly I wish swordies had gotten a CTR set with Snarbolax. To make Deadshot gunner-only would be to make a gunner-restricted Undead bonus, which is stupid--as is repurposing a currently existing equipment set. Ask for an additional set instead.

Anyways, we can live with small tweaks on the power of weapons/armor, but a radical change that turns an armor you were somewhat enjoying into a completely different thing that wont benefit you at all will only create hate

I'm not the only one thinking that.
Deadshot should replace its Undead bonus with CTR med per piece, while keeping the shadow protection and maybe its status resit.

They patched the glitch to do both sides in FSC. But that doesnt matter with the 12k economy killing profit of it.

I get it now. I finally understand. You don't want a new armor for yourself, you want to take an armor from everyone else. I suggested you ask for a new CTR path instead, and still you insist on changing Deadshot. What you fail to understand is that changing Deadshot will piss off far more people than it would please. Changing it makes absolutely no sense and won't happen, so beg away.

and I agree that Deadshot should be gunner-specific. Yes, please do put the undead bonus on an Angelic armor instead.

and I don't agree that Deadshot should change, I made that set specifically to abuse my gran faust charge attacks.
anyway I'm not too worried that OOO will change it, that would be similar to the change made to the antigua lines, and OOO asked for feedback before proceeding with a change that big for those specific items.
I think a new gunner armor with shadow defense and CTR would be better, as that won't alienate existing users of the armor and will please all gunners
and arguing that you don't want a sword user to look like a gunner is ridiculous, as I can have sword equipment and still use gunner equipment in the costume slots.

Undead bonus and Curse res make no sense together. Barring a single SL, wherever you need the Curse resist, you don't need the Undead bonus, and vice versa.

I love it how my point about the amulet still being unfixed caused this argument over deadshot

It's just some people might say that the gunslinger alchemy line has to many 5* sets.
For Faust users , maybe adding a 4* deadshot set might be good. And it will further separate that line from the gunner line.

Other than UFSC, the only other place Curse exists is in Graveyards. Graveyards only have Undead in them. The combination actually makes perfect sense. It was designed as a defensive resistance, not an offensive one.

One monster can do curse outside SLFSC and its the Phantoms, which are easy to "kill" and are avoidable.

I agree with the Deadshot been made into a pure gunner armor, as it is if your a gunner it gives you no bonus besides been shadow resistant when your facing FIENDS, did you think about that Solaire? In those scenarios you might as well grab any shadow resistant armor BESIDES the deadshot because it gives no other bonuses.

And your point was that I wanted to completely destroy the current Deadshot, when I only wanted to move it in the angelic set to free a spot to put a new gunner armor with CTR and have shadow defence.

The difficulty of phantoms is irrelevant; it makes sense that it was designed with Graveyards in mind. I'm starting to think you're being difficult for the sake of being difficult.

The reality is different.
I should clarify: by "makes no sense", I refer to practical sense. I'm sure the devs *intended* Curse to be defensively useful, just as they must have intended Sleep on jelly gear to be defensively useful. Well, neither intent translated into game reality.

The graveyards has only one monster with curse status. So it can't be for the graveyards in general. One monster doesn't represent the whole map.
And I'm stating that you don't make sense.

while I know the combination is not the best if you want to maximize your damage, I can still have an elemental weapon in the other slot, so anything that it's not undead or fiend I attack with gran faust, if I find an undead I switch to the elemental weapon and I have bonus damage to them.
My other option was valkyrie but I hate fire status and it tends to destroy me, however, the relevance is not how good my set up is, but that I might not be the only one, so it makes more sense to add a new armor set than to completely change an existing one bonus (balance is one thing, changing the purpose of an item is different)
now to be a bit more on topic, good thing about the volcanic demo suit, I'll probably make one heh.

All I can say is ABOUT TIME.
I've been using Mad Mask/Volcanic suit for months now, ever since I crafted a mixed set without realizing my CTR suffered.
They improved Volc Demo Suit? Really? Wow. I approve.
