If you have it, what are your thoughts about it?

Is it better than Ancient Plate Shield for the "all around use" purpose the devs seemed to kind of give it (even though the pure normal shields tend not to be all around from what I hear).

I had an APS, had fun watching trojan smashes unable to hurt it xD Is the Omega Shell just as good at that or not or possibly better? Of course, taking into account it doesn't have stun resistance...

I only have the stone

I only have the stone tortoise, but given how it has NO stat defense or other benefits of any kind, I can't see it being useful at all. I only got it for looks.

From what I hear, Omega shell

From what I hear, Omega shell has the highest health stat of all shields. I don't know if the health stat of a shield will affect your health or the shield's durability though.

Clarification of a shield's health meter

A shield's health has nothing to do with your own health. It just means the amount of damage it can take before it shatters, almost like your character has health and damage resistances.

K, seems nobody has really

K, seems nobody has really tested around with it yet. I'll make one and compare it with CoA + Royal Jelly + Grey Owlite (when each shield is used in the right level).

From what it seems, it probably works like Ancient Plate Shield where if you get a maximum status resistance UV on it, it holds up great against status themed monsters of that status.

This shield is already

This shield is already well-tested. It was the primary shield for Vanaduke, once upon a time - and was the shield you saw on the backs of pretty much everyone in Vog, in Haven.

Since then, the extra shield health has been rendered irrelevant, as the only reason people used it was because, at the time, it was the only shield that could tank Vanaduke's mace swing - now, CoA, Grey Owlite, and numerous others can do it. Moreover, back then, less pure damage was being dealt across the tables, which is no longer the case. This was also before CoA even existed.

Don't waste your time.

Oh and, re: APS vs Omega, APS is now pretty much better in all scenarios.

Yeah, the Omega shell can tank tons of damage but it lacks what any good shield needs for tier 3 (being a 5* shield.)

Previously it was my go-to shield for deconstruction zones because it had the best combination of normal defense and health to beat the all-normal damage that gremlins did. It was pretty decent against lumbers, but the plate line is better there, since it has stun resist.

Now that pretty well everything in tier 3 deals at least half non-normal damage (or full,) and if it does normal damage it comes with status (like Vana) it's a pretty lackluster 5* shield.

For a player who has good shields for different areas already, it doesn't have much use. Even in the Unknown Passage, you're better off with plate for the stun resist and a bit higher defense, the extra health doesn't do that much there even though everything is doing normal damage.

Where the Omega Shell shines, is to fill gaps in an arsenal. If you are going into a level for which you KNOW you don't have an ideal shield, it's a good stopgap if enemies' attacks would be going through your other shields' defenses anyways.
To better illustrate this, if for example you only had Grey Owlite for your elemental shield, and you found yourself in a construct/freeze level, you can expect your owlite shield to break quickly from freeze attacks. The Omega will do decently (but not particularly well) here since it can tank lots of damage that will be going straight through its all-normal defense.
It's alright for arenas as well, where you are likely to be faced with mixed damage types, though it was better before things were doing more non-normal damage in tier 3.

As an owner of many shields for different circumstances, I have difficulty finding places to use my Omega Shell any more. I was using it for some poison levels, since I didn't have a shield for that, but now Dragon Scale fills that niche for both piercing and elemental poison levels...
I'd say that it is a nice 5* shield for messing around in tier 1/2 with, but Swiftstrike is definitely the most fun/effective for messing around in easy areas with 5* gear.

Yeah, me too.

I think it was the most Over-Powered Shield, being able to take Tons & Tons of Damage before Breaking. Then OOO did something & now everyone moved onto Grey Owlite. I'm gunna go & try to find the Patch Note...

I still love mine.

It's my favorite shield, and if it gets a buff then I'll be a very happy camper.
