Unlearning recipe

After having accidentally learned a recipe that I wanted to trade to someone, I realized the need for a machine or an option to 'unlearn' a recipe. It could be something that resembles the idea of memory loss, like something you'd pay a certain amount of energy to forget the recipe...then call it "amnesia" or something. lol

Why would you pay to forget

Why would you pay to forget something?
Even if that would somehow make sense, people could just buy a recipe, learn it, use it, then unlearn and sell it. This would flood the market with tons of recipes and be a big crown pump because they could sell the recipes to vendors.
Crown pump = bad

Raising stakes

What if unlearning it takes great deal of energy, and is only limited to 3-star recipes or higher?

Unbinding weapon

It's kind of like unbinding a weapon, usually ones that you acquire from missions. They are of the same concept right? But the catch is that you need a great deal of energy to unbind star weapons

How much energy? If its lower

How much energy? If its lower than what you paid for the recipe, it will pump more crowns in the game. If the price is higher, you might as well buy the same recipe again. Even if it costs just as much money to unlearn a recipe than what you paid for it, you're destroying a crown sink.
Crown sink = good
Crown sinks reduce CE prices

Well it's the same as unbinding the weapon. It costs so much to unbind it that you might as well leave it alone...and yet people still do it right? And it's not just for reselling..it could be for trading too.

Meh.

I think the biggest problem with this is that fewer recipes would be sold by vendors (i.e. fewer crowns would be removed from the game), and more energy would be consumed. In other words, there would be extreme inflation, no matter how you spin it.

Hmm

Just realized that instead of unlearning the recipe, might as well ask the other player who wants the item to trade energy and the crown. -_-"

true..didn't really think much about how forgetting the recipe could affect the crowns and the inflation.

Recipes are super easy to get and cheap compared to weapons. Yorua rgument is invalid

Of course, since most recipes are really easy to get now, it's much cheaper just to get them yourself instead of having a friend craft for you. This is especially true for higher-level items that need to be bound and heated before crafting. What you've said is valid for anything up to 3* though. I myself have crafted a couple of 3* things for my friends and guildmates after they've given me the energy and maybe crowns/mats to do it.

What if you only could

What if you only could unlearn recipes that you have never used? So if you by misstake learn a recipe, you can just unlearn it right away.

If that happens, you're supposed to send an ingame request for GM help.

@Serell I'd just like to

@Serell
I'd just like to point out that selling recipes to vendors wouldn't be a really strong crown-pump, as they never buy your stuff for much. The real problem, as Schattentag said, is that this would compete with the NPCs and would effectively harm a really important crown-sink and strenghten an equally important energy-sink (Leading to inevitable inflation).

im not sure.

i always thought the learning for the recipes was there to well collect. like amass your knowledge about the recipe. i never actually thought to try to make money of the recipes or try to trade them by unlearning them. so im not so sure about this idea cause i cant really predict how the whole comunity of spiral will change if we had the option of unlearning the recipes.
