Howlitzer Set

piercing/shadow defense
splits from skelly at 3*, resistance to fire and curse.
the helm looks like a howlitzer's head, and offers an MSI low at 5*
the mail looks sorta like a ribcage, and also offers MSI low at 5*
3*- howlitzer (normal howlitzer head, eyeholes where the howlitzers eyeholes are) (armor is a ribcage with skelly style arms and legs)
4*- blighted howlitzer (darker howlitzer head, has a nose horn.) (armor gets darker too, gains a prismaticky globe of shadow in the center of the ribcage)
5*- dread howlitzer(dark;prismaticky,transparent flame animation in front of eyes; has a nose horn, maybe 2 horns on the backside oh the helm)
(armor is pitch black, no spikes like dread skelly, but the same slight aura exhuding from it)
so, there it is. i might add a concept later on, but this is all for the meantime.
discuss, suggest, anything you please.
specially the description/name.

so. according to plausible suggestions, up to now weve got this:
Resistances: shadow and piercing; fire and curse
pros:gives the possibility of a skelly branch line with curse and fire resists, creates a helm with shadow/piercing def. like silverhelm.
cons: no normal defense

bonuses: low on 3-4*, medium on 5*(here i am referring to 5*)
options- a msi medium on the helm, bomb ctr medium on the mail.
pros:will probably induce players to mix sets and make a good match, maybe even covering the no normal defense while theyre at it.
cons: little use of the set itself, slightly awkward division on bonuses
2-msi med and ctr med on both.
pros- more balanced.
cons- less chances of usage.
3- only msi med on both.
i thought this msi thing up cuz howlitzer heads go flying and stuff XD.that and the fact only 1 other set has it.

Another weapon and gear balance pass is in the works, in some cases offering enhanced functionality to existing items. We're also developing some new items for players to craft! -> no need for another boss. this will make release easy.

howlitzer
H-a helm infused with the soul and appearance of a howlitzer. users of this headgear report that they feel an inexplicable need to howl at a full moon when wearing it
M-a heavy ribcage that with some luck will keep the user's out of trouble.

smoking howlitzer
H-a heavy howlitzer skull modified to protect the one that belongs to the user, even if making him hear whispers in it in the dead of the night.
M- a ribcage darkened with dark matter(derrrp).wearers say that when all is silent, they can hear and feel a second heart beating alongside theirs.

infernal howlitzer
H-this fiery undead helm is guaranteed to make all the ones around you wish it would fly away.
M-reinforced with reaper ribs, this armor is known for making users sit down and try to spit bullets at their colleagues.

Split defenses and movement bonus, curse resist. The idea is not bad, but I dont see any serious use for it (shadow Vana?). It sounds it'll just be an expensive costume.

Give it a bomb ctr bonus. Bombers say all their armors are elemental? Take this *evil laugh*

When I saw this thread I immediately thought the helmet would use the Howlitzer head for the helmet. Yes. This is good already.

Pierce and shadow, reminds me of Silvermail. That armor has no matching helmet by the way.

No movement increase. Mercurial is based on those silver pinballs, Mercurial Demo is based on hit and run bombers. Howlitzers are stationary, it makes no sense for their set to give something they completely lack. As posted above, consider making this a shadow demo line. This could become a token reward line for a new boss, seeing as it would be the only demo line without elemental. Also, rather than nail two birds with one shoe, consider making it split normal and shadow; bombers should be able to dodge jellies, beasts and immobile spike traps on the floor. Devilites throwing chairs is another story. Greavers are just obnoxious.

hmmmmmm yeeessss

i actually do very much like this idea, not only being a branch off Skelly, but also just how cool it sounds. however i believe radiant silvermail already bears the Shadow/Piercing attribute.. but then again there stand a vast number of sets that have similar, if not identical resistance stats. what would make this really special, is to have fire resistance. have the 5* set be an"infernal howlitzer" set.. thus to not break the trend of Volcanic=Elemental/fire res. Infernal sets (if any more were to come) would give the user a nice amount of shadow defense, while sporting a tasteful fire and curse resist. Maybe also add the low MSI on each piece for the howlitzer variant as well, just as long as sets specifically geared to MSI (mercurial sets) gain a med MSI for each piece.

All in all, this is a great idea that has so much potential for further development. thank you for sharing your ideas

Howlitzer as a Demo armor

Howlitzer as a Demo armor could certainly work, since Howlitzer heads go kaboom and all. Shadow defense, curse or poison resist, CTR low and DMG low per piece, splits from Demo instead of Skelly?

As a demo armour sounds

As a demo armour sounds weird. All "class" specific weapons come from the same lines. (wolver, gunslinger, demo) Having a demo armour that doesn't upgrade off the demo line would be weird. Unless it is the first of many, new armours to be released. (talking about once OOO finishes balancing existing equipment and starts developing new equipment)

Nevertheless, I still support.

Suggestion?

I think the MSI ONLY will increase when the knight is low in health(10 - 15%?), just like the skull moves very fast when a howlitzer died.

This will so that Mercurial will not make it more useless because of this..

or maybe a sword ctr mixed with one of the latter?

Mix sets because they want to, not mix sets because the current set up is an annoying mix of bomber and gunner (I don't know anyone who is a bomber/gunner hybrid) So therefore the helm and armour would never be used together (with the exception of costumes)
What I'm saying is that the class bonus should be uniform across the armour. Anyway, we already have a gun helm without matching armour.
And hybrid armour usually have universal bonuses, like the Chaos set, Angelic and the Deadshot.

it could be part of a new line for hybreed fighters. maybe bomb/gun is too awkward, but maybe bomb/sword would make sense

Hybrid Bomber/Gunner here, and today I'm going to tell you all about how I use bombs and guns in the same loadout.

...Seriously, we exist. >_>

On a more practical note, though, I do think it would be very strange and unfitting to have two different bonuses on pieces of the same set. Bombs or guns - pick one bonus, not both. Just my thoughts.

I guess itll just make more sense if it gets a gun ctr med (cuz it shoots projectiles) and an msi med ( cuz it flies around) than put a bomb in the middle. a shadow demo set is an idea for later...

I kinda like the idea of it

I kinda like the idea of it havin' an effect similar to The Equalizer from TF2, in which you move faster with less health, and personally think it should work with that, otherwise it'd just be better than the Mercurial/Mercurial Demo sets.
