Lockdown training hall/tutorial, Lockdown Waiting list AND Penalty for leavers

I just started playing lockdown yesterday and I knew nothing about it. My friend was the one answering all my questions but he had only played once before as well. I've played about 20 games in last two days or so and find that it's really hard to get used to everything. I just wish there was something that could help me become a better player. I really enjoy lockdown even if I've lost a lot.
That's why I think there should be a training hall for lockdown, even if it's like a mini game type thing. I want there to be a place where i can practice dashing, a place where i can learn how long the shields for guardians last without panicking and a place where i can learn how recons work. I know there have been other threads suggesting this but, I still want this to happen. I believe people are missing out because they don't dare to try lockdown and blast network because they have o idea what it is and it will scare them off (that's why I've never played before till now).
The first game I played, i freaked out! What the heck is a recon? Why do I have to choose one? I don;t understand what's happening....TT I'm pretty sure that's how all first time players feel (without reading any type of tips or guides of course). Even so, I guess you become a better player with experience but it's incredibly hard when you're a first time player and you have to play tier 3 because you have been efficient enough to have all 4*+ gear.
EDIT: 29/4/12
So I just played a T1 LD match. It was NO FUN AT ALL. It had either people who knew exactly what to do or people who didn't know what to do at all. So I could've been the only person on my team who actually knew how to play but the other team kept killing me because they ganged up on me. Also, two members of my team ended up leaving in the middle of the game. So the odds were 2:4 i.e. 1:2. That's very unfair.
I believe we actually need a space where we can train and play around with the equipment without spending 200cr. So all noobs and veterans alike can dash, guard and be invisible as much as they like :D BUT they would not be able to deal damage against other knights. Maybe have some mecha knights or something that regenerate right next to the bases. Just a few. so we could practice dashing and slashing them. Therefore, it won't be just like LD and won't take players away from it.
EDIT: 2/5/12
Maybe there could be a mission where someone explains to you the other options that you have when it comes to playing. And that person will explain what LD and BN is. Therefore, new players will have an actual idea of what they could get into. Instead of being completely scared or just not bothered because you're paying 200 cr to play something that you dont even know could be worth the 200 cr. like What are krogmo coins!? (i would ask as a new player).
EDIT: 6/5/12
I Already know Nick has said that a more efficient waiting list is on the to do list BUT here are just my ideas of what I would like to see and think would be efficient. So I think there should be 3 separate lists for T1, T2, T3. On the lists it will have the waiting players names and they will be numbered so that player #1 will be next to get into a game etc. BUT it will be the players that are waiting OUTSIDE of LD. So not the players inside waiting for the next game, but people OUTSIDE waiting to get in and play. So people OUTSIDE know, okay so I'm 5th person waiting.
AND I know there are people who try to get into a game with their friends but its all really up to chance or where they are on the waiting list that determines if the player and their friend/s get into the same game. SO maybe we could have some kind of system/way that people could pair up or form a group of four and wait for a game that way. Therefore, your little group will stay together for as long as you keep pressing play again. This also fixes the problem that there is hardly ever guilds signing up and they have to be called to play.
I have found that even if you play with what seems like the same players again and again (cuz they press play again), even if you press play again, it doesnt mean that you DO play with the same people. I was playing with a friend and when I was transferred with the other players to the next game, he was left behind waiting for another game. Like WHAT?! That doesnt make sense? and I reckon it becomes unfair that he should have to wait longer when he was with us in the first place and we are now playing.

Well today I played a game of lockdown where 2 people from my team left in the middle of the game. So it was 4vs2. A week ago or so, I played a game where 2 players left as well. So we were left with 2vs4. I think it's really unfair for people to leave during the game. I guess in the game today, we were already losing. But still, you're just gonna give up and doom the rest of the team? idk. I guess there are some people who have to leave because of chores or something. But, I don't enjoy it when people leave. Even if it's to my teams advantage. So, I'm proposing, maybe you have to pay a fee for leaving? I know you already payed 200 at the beginning and wont get the krogmo coin at the end though, idk still seems unfair. Tell me what you think. This may be one of my most subjective suggestions yet lol.
Tell me what you think.

First of all, you don't have to play Tier 3. Just unmark PvP on all loadouts above your desired tier.
Second of all, I still think this is a good idea. However, it would also be nice to see damage according to Stratum somewhere without going down there yourself, which would be a nice feature for an another training hall.

@ Taalt
Well that's the problem. ALL my gear is 4*+ therefore nothing is lower than tier 3.
But yes, it would be nice to be able to know how much damage you are dealing.
This would help noob players. It could be a part of the advanced training hall. For those who didnt notice, the advanced training hall is a bit empty to the bottom right dont ya think? We can break that wall down and make an entire new section for lockdown training.
let me tell you this. When i first came into the game, it was a bit before pierce swords came out. I reached tier 3 in a fairly short time. So, when lockdown came up. I had to face tier 3 lockdown with no experience at all. sure, it did take me quite some time, and i was like, heck i can never learn this. But you learn through experience. In 2 to 3 weeks i was a striker poking people and was heck of annoying XD. but i still had my rock jelly helm and stuff XD.
locker room is kind of a tutorial itself. When you move near each one of those classes, recon, guard etc, it tells you what advantages you get.
When you move to that small space in the left/right. which has an elevator like screen, it gives you more info.
Thankfully, when one first enters tier 3 now, he usually has SOME info on the game, so its not too bad. But i cant imagine the situation in tier 1 and 2 :D
I give this a +1 :)

I guess I would agree with you Devil-Xtreme, I have read a few threads suggesting we tear down that wall and add another training hall there. I wouldn't really have any suggestions as to where to put it.
I know there is a bit of info in the 'locker room' but with time ticking, and especially in tier 3 LD, you don't really feel like you will have time to read and familarise yourself. That's why those explanations should be put into a lockdown training hall. Or maybe a king kogmo's training hall. I never see anyone playing blast network. It's quite sad really :/

Equip proto armour. Have a play around with T1 Lockdown, it's a lot slower paced and you don't die in two hits. If you need better gear for T1 LD the first few sets of missions provides some decent stuff.

@Hexzyle
I guess I could equip my proto stuff. However I can't get the gear for T1 as I've already did the misisons like ages ago since I was a player before the missions came in. And even if I did get those items, I've already sold the to vadel since I don't want 0-1* items filling up my arsenal. So If I wanted better weapons for T1, I would have to make them.
Supporting jenny here, another reason is, in US east AND EU west, rarely i notice 8 people or 12 people playing and 1 or 2 waiting. It is really hard to play tier 1 lockdown as people rarely do. To be honest, starting a tier 1 lockdown game is a pain in the a*se

Thanks Devil-xtreme :)
I've also noticed recently that there has been a person shouting for T1 players to come in, where as in T3, I guess there seems to be more of a purpose for us to play since we may actually need the trinkets and weapons.

They could add that to advanced training hall, same pads just like in lockdown, you would just loose that equipment after exiting ATH
Also adding this equipment propably would require making Advanced Training Hall more advanced. There was thread somewhere about expanding ATH

@Asukalan
I'd rahter have a button next to "withdraw", on the Coliseum window, leading you to a Tutorial of some kind because newbies might not figure out that the tutorial for PvP was actually at the Advanced Training Hall.
We wouldn't even need a real tutorial; an illustrated guide would be good enough to learn the basics (although a real tutorial could be great for actual training).
Oh, and +1 to OP

@ Asukalan
I Think they would have to make the ATH much mush bigger so people could train for lockdown. But I do agree about having those pads.
@Blue-Phaze
Even with some sort of tutorial, I don't know if it would help :/ I just made a new knight and had a try at T1 LD. IT WAS SO CRAP! It had either people who knew exactly what to do or people who didn't know what to do at all. Not fun at all. We actually need a space where we can train and play around with the equipment without spending 200cr. like c'mon, don't tell me 200cr is worth nothing.

Not only bigger, but also (like mentioned in other ATH topics) a bit redesigner, we could use something stronger than those little constructs to train on, maybe some moving dummies or even dummies with diffrent type of dummies (dealing pierce, elemental etc. ; resist pierce, elemental etc.)

*grumble*grumble* No one cared for my thread, which was essentially the same as this...
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/45293
Oh well, +1

1+, this would make it easier for me to train new recruits to get better in Lockdown, we need moar LD playas!

@ Serell
Yeh I saw your post but it seemed a little old and i know that people don't like it when new peeps comment on old threads :P
@ Fallconn
YES! We do need more players on LD.

Lol.... need more LD players?
What we need is more BN players....
"Yeh I saw your post but it seemed a little old and i know that people don't like it when new peeps comment on old threads :P"
They don't like it when you bump up bad, dead threads.
My thread wasn't bad, just never got any attention....
Oh well :3

Agreed. This could all go in as a must do mission, you know. You would be talking to Sullivan for the duration of it. Although I don't know what would happen to those who already got through that part of the game. :\
I think adding this would make LD overall more enjoyable for us all.

@ autofire
mmm I don't know it LD is important enough to become a mission. It really has nothing to do with arcade, going down elevators and defeating bosses. Maybe just a mission where someone explains to you the other options that you have when it comes to playing. And that person will explain what LD and BN is. Therefore, new players will have an actual idea of what they could get into. Instead of being completely scared or just not bothered because you're paying 200 cr for playing something that you dont even know could be worth the 200 cr? like What are krogmo coins!? (i would ask as a new player).
I will add this to OP :)

+1, again, for the new edits. I think they should make LD and BN just like any other PvP-FPS game, with waiting rooms and people on the teams they like. It'd be far more easy to play with friends or even get to play at all.
btw, thanks for updating your thread instead of making new ones everytime you have an idea.

:) Thanks Blue-phaze
Well all my ideas concern the same thing so, why not put them all on one thread then trail after another.

+1, though something to note would be the fact that fighting mecha knights in practice is way more PVE than PVP. It would be nice to have a place to practice against other players, but OOO probably wouldn't want to create an experience too close to actual Lockdown, since that would draw a fair number of players away to a free alternative. It's all about striking a balance, which is admittedly tricky in this case. If OOO decides to keep the Lockdown experience exclusive to the actual game, I can understand and respect that decision.

would help new players but me uh not helpfull cause I have played 20000 game of LD befor heart trinkets became so easy to get I was a boss of teir 2 LD but oh well

@ snubear
Yeh I guess that's true. I was just trying to think of an alternative to fighting other players because I have read some other threads with the concerns of turning people away from actual LD. Thanks for your opinions :)
@ Hijadestone
I think that was the same purpose as ATH lol but now that we have advanced players it's not so advanced

when I first joined the game I thought the training hall was the place I got crowns all I needed was directions to the arcade but this isn't really necicarey after 15-20 games you normally get the idea if you are curios and have common sence

@ Hijade
Ok then let's say there never was a ATH. The only way we could learn and gain experience in the game was arcade. Imagine when you start playing the game, there is no tutorial for the new players coming in you just go straight to haven and have to start playing arcade. That would defeat the purpose of getting new players because they wouldn't even know what to do. Every game has a tutorial at the beginning. Even BN doesn't have a tutorial and you only learn by playing.
I just think it would attract more people to play because then they get a general idea of what to do, have learnt what's going on and in the process dont get killed because they are still noob. I was too scared to even attempt to play BN because I'm scared of bombs and dont use them. But after watching a tutorial vid on youtube, it looked easy and fun.
That's all I would like. something to provide new players the knowledge they need to understand the basics.

lol I've just become very passionate about this topic :P I love playing LD and BN despite the fact that I keep dying and not very good.

i really don't get how LD works, just that you kill ppl and earn points or something. a tutorial would really help. and as for blast network.. i realy love that thing. it's quite awesome. just the poor thing is that like no one plays it except for my good buddys. LD gets like 60 ppl waiting to play. not fair really.
anyway, could someone tell me how LD works? then maybe ill try it one last time to see if i like it. Thx

@ Reddlegend
The main point is to capture points and hold those points for the longest. The longer you capture them, the more points u get. And then that's how the killing other players comes in. you kill other players to stop them from capturing points. This thread should help: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/25687
I hope this helps you, I read this and I'm slowly getting better at playing :)
And this is exactly what I mean, we have to go somewhere else to find out how to play a game.
agreed
