before you go and skip this and think it's just the regular type of pet suggestion, let me tell you it's not. My idea is that to get pets you trade in certain tokens of certain amounts for the coresponding pet. the tokens are dropped from the monster you kill with a low chance (like a 1/10) and are traded in to a vendor perhaps in 3rd spot in arcade. The pet's strength is dependent on the amount of tokens, the 3 levels of strength is: Tier 1 tier 2 tier 3, the tiers aren't dependent of tier collected in but in the amount of tokens, T1= 10 T2= 25 T3= 50, The pets are in the form of an item and take up vial slots, they are able to be used an infinite amount of times like a bomb but depending on the monster's strength/tier depends on how costly it is to use. to use a pet it doesnt use CE or CR it uses health. the health of the monster is next to the player's (the one on the top left which everyone can see), the health of the monster is the amount used to "summon". the strength of the monster is not equal to the strength of the actual monster. Bosses would be available as pets but be exteremely hard to get (1/10 times gives you a token and you need allot). different monsters have different strength values, attacks and defence values. the healing monsters dont heal as pets (to stop exploiting) but instead buff defence. the strength, defence and almost everything else is not near the strength of the actual thing, so they aren't OP and dont effect the game too much. please comment if you have anything to add to this
Token pets NOT GENERIC PET IDEA
with my idea they dont do too much and come with a reasonable down side. plus my idea makes them hard to get but not too hard either. because for example you might have to kill up to 100 wolvers to get a T1 wolver pet which wouldnt do that much. so really it isnt really for everyone who plays. and the only ones who can get the "strong" pets would be the people who play allot. plus if "pet haters" dont like it then they shouldnt get it and since it isnt OP it wont make much of a difference. it wont effect LD because there isnt vial slots in pvp. plus the price for a T3 pet may be like 15 bars of health (maybe). plus spending maybe 3 bars of health for a wolver that does 20 damage and dies in a few hit's isnt that big so it wont make an impact on "pet haters" but some do like that.
With an idea like this, its either OP or UP. They'll end up lasting as long as Mecha knights, and those die QUICK.
They'll be harder to separate from enemy monsters because they'll look just about the same, it'll be an attack-spam fest between the monster and your Pet, which will result in the pet dying if you don't fight on top of it.
People don't want them added because they're too complicated to balance, they don't want to make the game like CP or something, and they don't want pets distracting them while in Parties.
And some just find the idea annoying.
well the pets could have a coloured circle around them and could be smaller. and it would be ok if it dies easily because unlike the mecha knight it fights the enemy you're attacking and also pets should be a thing that is supposed to fight allong with rather than just used to attack random enemies
before you go and skip this
Ok, before I write an answer, I'll go ahead and skip all that. Pretty sure that's what you mean? Anyway...:
Awesome idea!
I have lots of fsc tokens and I want to use them to buy a baby vanaduke in a monster pocket! It'd be like almost player-sized, fat, wielding a rattle / toy club... It'd burp fire from time to time... and hit people... it'd be awesome. It should be called "vanadukeling", because if ducks make little ducklings, dukes are bound to produce little dukelings.
Building on what Asuk said:

Saying "before you skip this blabla" and then complaining about his post while skipping that what he said is just epic.
Lemme spell this out for you:
if a thread involves pets as a separate entity from you that are friendly, whether or not they fight, and are not an accessory, etc., it is most definitely, undeniably a generic pet thread.
No pets, now graveyard this for your sake.
/thread
This is what all 'pet haters' hate. They don't want pets that actually DO anything.
Something to look pretty, fine.
But something that can fight/do stuff OTHER than just look pretty, no.
So...you DID kinda just make the regular pet suggestion, you just added a new means of getting them.
