Do you know of a video of solo'ing Vanaduke without rez, after the slag bumping exploit was fixed? The ones I found on YouTubes tend to be partied or before the fix. Would prefer one below 3 bars of connection as well, to get a closer feeling to my own experience (red dot connecting from Hong Kong).

My long term goal is to solo Vanaduke... actually, I think my long term goal is to kill Vanaduke while not being crushed by the Slag Guards. The pair of them is the real threat if you ask me - without the guards Vanaduke is nothing.

I'd like to see such a video to see if that's possible - solo, no glitch, bad connection.

Here's a partial list of items I got, quite a few of them made for that purpose:

Armors:
- Divine Veil
- Skolver Coat
- Vog Cub Cap and Coat
- Mad + Volcanic Demo Suit

Shields:
- Barbarous Thorn Shield
- Grey Owlite
- Crest of Almire

Bombs:
- Radiant Sun Shard
- Shivermist Buster
- Spike Shower

Guns:
- Blitz Needle
- Silversix
- Polaris

Swords:
- Combuster and Glacius
- Divine Avenger and Gran Faust
- Dark Thorn Blade
- Ascended Calibur
- Fang of Vog

I've been experimenting the weapons in the boss fight in a group, and was checking if any of them can be of use when I solo.

In a group Glacius + FoV is an easy way to kill a guard... at the cost of some HP. It's fine in a party, but I don't think I can spare that much HP when I solo, considering there will be multiple waves of them.

If I am to ignore the guards (I did some shiverless runs without killing the guards, and it's super hard), I don't think I can use Blitz - the guard will surely have my hide afterwards. Which means after phase 1 I can only use Polaris or Argent Peacemaker (if I make it).

Or can Dark Briar Barrage be used instead? I checked some videos, the radius seems to be identical to Shiver and thus can reach Vanaduke (if I just keep him turning instead of charging).

Ha ha, "can u give me ce."

Ha ha, "can u give me ce." I like that second video Shiwen. =)

My computer isn't powerful enough to make a movie, but you can do something similar to Shiwen's second video with Polaris or Argent Peacemaker. However, using Polaris or AP takes a bit more time. Basically, run in giant circles around the perimeter of the room, and take a couple of shots (more with Argent Peacemaker) if you see an opening. If you run in large circles, the Slag Guards will always be charging to the position you were in a few seconds earlier, so they will rarely catch you.

I think people have problems because they circle too close to Vanaduke and they get caught by the Slag Guards or Vana's charge attack. You can almost survive forever by running around the perimeter of the room. It's kind of boring, actually. Just keep a path near the walls and water stations clear of any fire. If Vana starts drifting close to a wall, briefly pause your run at the opposite wall to make him move towards the middle.

Dark Briar barrage - why? Shiver - why? You want to solo, so go for dps (damage pre second) - the blitz needle is your best friend. You may also consider a neutralizer.

@Shiwen

I think that other guy in the party definitely makes the vid. It's a unique way to do a handicap vanaduke run. Also, lol treasure room music.

6 days later...

I did it - solo'ed Vanaduke with a single revive.

Weapon - Glacius, Fang of Vog, Polaris, Blitz Needle
Armor - Full Vog Cub
Shield - Barbarous Thorn Blade
Trinkets - None

For 1st and 3rd phases, I used Glacius to kill the walkers, then Blitz charges on Vana. Treating Vana like a very big Trojan worked.

For the mask phases, I didn't go in too much after the first water (swinging FoV). I played it safe, throwing water and then with Polaris from outside. It took me a while, but no HP lost until 5th phase, where I tried to ambush the guards like Shiwen did in his first video but failed (positioning is not right or it turned faster than my latency).

I gave up the idea of using Glacius + FoV to kill them - I would be standing in the same general area for too long, Vana would charge/smack me. So instead I started running in big circles, and blitz when I could. I didn't manage to blitz very effectively... the guards were in the way, and Vana charged around a lot for me to land a lot of hits. After a while got killed by homing shadow fire.

After revive I switched to Polaris (2-shot) and kept running. Vana renewed the guards for a total of 4 times and died.

I should be able to do better next time...

:DD Well done Evilnut!

I'm still trying to get the hang of soloing Vana ^^; But I'll get to it at some point.
It's more Vana that give me trouble than the Guards though, I guess liking to kill Trojans so much has given me enough practice to deal with them using my Glacius x)
Again, Well done ^^

I found Polaris' shock to be

I found Polaris' shock to be quite effective in stopping Vana in his track. When I was using Blitz Needle, he charged around frequently as I was running near the walls of the room, far away from him. And I ended up getting caught by his balls of fury several times. Once I started shooting Polaris Vana's position is almost fixed to the center of the room.

The technique I use for

The technique I use for taking out one of the guards quickly is charging FoV/Blitz by the right fountain making the slag charge into the corner between the fountain and the right wall. I dodge to the left, making vana swing his mace to the left of the now charging guard and quickly get behind the guard releashing my charge. From there I either kill the other guard (if I have FoV) or just start shooting at vana (Blitz), dodging just one is a lot easier.
