The Lumber Challenge

Here's something for those who are bored with "nothing to do."

I've had more than a few friends show me different challanges they have devised to test a certain skill in the game. This one tests several, most importantly the ability to manage multiple targets in a fight and pick out the right one.

The challenge is to reproduce a screenshot similar to This One, in the same location with the same four (no points for only three, or less) guest stars.
(Take note of the depth, this is in the Arcade Jelly Palace, not the watered down mission one.)

Note: For those who know how to do this, don't post the solution for those who aren't sure. Part of the challenge is figuring it out. If you see how, but can't be bothered to DO the challenge, give yourself a pat on the back for being clever, but don't spoil it for those who don't get it and want to try, please.

Dziurka
Munitions factory

In my honest opinion the Munitions Factory exploration is a nice and pleasant challenge. Just yesterday I have noticed that Roarmulus Twins can be killed in a slightly different way than the usual.
Additionally, the entire level is a maze where it is not only easy to miss some treasure chests (OCH has some hidden too!) but also to try out the teamwork mode - if one stays behind and triggers the switches then the results may be exceptionally pleasant - at the very least two buttons that turn the rocket launchers off are accessible ONLY if your teammate stays behind and waits for your signal ("Dziurka is ready!").
Not to mention the great fun that only the catalyzer line may give you!

Challenge accepted. So, 4

Challenge accepted.

So, 4 lumbers in the level just before RJ, and 1 Trojan in the level just before Vana. I'll post my results soon.

You don't mind if I don't do it alone, do you ?

Challenge completed.We were

Challenge completed.

We were 4 (because everyone wanted to try it xD), but in exchange, we upped it. Now it's 5 lumbers challenge! (I checked and there is no way to go higher that I know of).

Here is the proof : 5 Happy Lumbers

Next, the Trojan challenge. It'll be for later/tomorrow, but we are going to up it too.

P.S. : a guildmate suggested a new challenge. We are going to do it soon and suggest it for others to do once it's ready :)

whoa. whoa whoa whoa.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa. 5?

I went through pretty systematically to see if I could get more than 4 and no opportunities popped up, except for the last room... (since mixing up lumbers may have destroyed my chances.) having more than 1 to keep track could have helped but still.

/e is so baffled.

Well done Fradow!

I'm guessing you guys got 5 because one got glitched through a barrier somewhere...?

That's impressive no matter how it happened.

No, we didn't use any glitch,

No, we didn't use any glitch, it's perfectly reproductible without abusing any game mechanism. (Same goes for the expected 2 trojans in FSC, I don't think we can get more but I'll see during the run).

You can PM me in game for the solution, not going to spoil it here :)

Lol Trojan Challenge

I did it once on accident when soloing FSC :P it can be hard to do if you don't keep track of which trojan is which (spoiler D:)

So, here it is, alone this

So, here it is, alone this time, as promised : 5 Lumbers and me.

I thought about adding a Lichen Colony at the last moment, but I failed (not sure it is even possible). This last room was HARD (I guess you can tell with my life, trying to take a screenshot without geting killed, and the number of pills remaining).

Hehehe

Five Lumbers, comin' right up!
Don't mind if I do!

Now that we've finished the main course...
Dessert, anyone?

I think that's every single Royal Mini in that level except maybe six of them. Some of them probably fell to Blast Cubes, but I think I took out like three of them before I decided to start saving them.

Haha, Nice!

I figured out where the 5th one is, got as far as the last room with just me and five Lumbers and then nothing else spawned and I let out a big sigh because I killed one of the wrong ones...

I was actually considering seeing how many minis I could get to the end, but decided it might be too tedious... Kudos to you Manalicious!

The Trojan Challenge,

The Trojan Challenge, completed too! And upped too! Without glitch again, there is no way to get more than 2 that I know of.

Here it is : Dai, me and our Trojan friends.

We looked in D26, but there was no way to get a Trojan to the elevator :'(

Next is doing that solo: it's going to be ULTRA hard, being 2 allow to have one person do the Shiverlocking while the other kill stuff. Can't do that alone.

Also, we plan on seeing what challenge await us in IMF.

@Manalicious nice one, I'll try the dessert when i'll be bored.

@Toastnaut, Fradow

This is Schattentag, by the way. >_>

I was a little scared of killing the wrong Lumbers in the final room, but I managed to get lucky.

The minis were more of a pain than the Lumbers, I think. Not only for the fact that I had to herd more of them, but also because they would occasionally trap me. I actually died twice in that level, but not at all in the second part of RJP.

I'm sort of dubious as to whether I'll be able to complete the Trojan Challenge. My computer's a bit slow, especially in FSC. I guess that's just part of the challenge, so maybe I'll try it out at some point.

Hmm, alternative

Hmm, alternative challenge:
Kill as many teammates as you can by bumping lumbers into them in a single level. My current record is 9, jolly fun it was.

Imagen de Toastnaut

Aha!

Well, I haven't been in the Clockworks RJP since I last posted in this thread, since I've been busy gathering new gun damage data...

But since it rotated back in today, here's 5 more happy lumbers at the elevator before that big squishy regal mess.

Nice work. If I remember, I'd like to attempt this challenge, even if I will only have 3* equipment for a WHILE!

I didn't feel right hogging the glory so I wanted friends to join in. And I took that shot. I had the basic 4* stuff on too. But I needed extra party members in case herding the lumbers required the caliber's knock back which was likely to kill in two regular attempts.

Correction: I'll have to do the clockworks version if possible at a later time. Darn...
