You understand that the way things are now, a team with enough Blitz needles and sufficient coordination could literally make it impossible for the other team to leave their spawn, correct? You don't view this as a problem at all?

I'd say it'd be easier to do with mist bombs. Either way, there's something that would ruin it- in the case of needlers, a Striker in Piercing-defense armor just dashing out to the farthest CP possible would do the trick. Plus, it'd be crazy hard to pull off- ALL THE ENEMY TEAM would have to be dead before you could needle them, or the guys outside could get CPs at their leisure..
I'll admit, some of the invincibility times are kind of annoying, especially when I can't seem to get the timing down to combo people with BTB while others can hehe. Or when someone is using a silversix on a target, rendering my GF hits pointless, and instead leaving me open to be hit...
But I don't like how you can now hitlock people until they die. That is not good, and it needs to go away. It is worse now than it was before.
This bug would just make you die in under 5 seconds by one skolver, now Imagine at 2 or 3 skolvers coming behind you....

In another but similar topic, does anyone remember the "team kill troll" that was proposed not too long ago, about stacking a bunch of biohazard charges on one person then having them run into their team and detonating?
I heard it failed because the charges didn't do damage, and since I just found out we had invincibility, I highly suspect it was because the detonation shot triggered invincibility (for the target) and the other charges couldn't hit simultaneously.

Ok, so let me get this straight. Some of you believe it's right for the skill to be taken out of Lockdown? Really, that's what this boils down to. This bug rewards mindless spamming. Some people were/are literally skilled enough to take down 4+ people simultaneously. If this bug stays, it WILL remove the fun and satisfaction that comes with lockdown because 1. Once you get hit you have no hope of recovering if your opponent has something like a cutter and 2. You're almost guaranteed a dead man if you're facing off against more than one person of equal skill to yourself.
This new bug isn't fun, It's depressing. There's literally nothing to work towards if it stays. Just buy a cutter and a blitz and you're set. There's a reason that you were given a 1-second frame of invincibility. It was to save you from getting completely mauled by a larger group or weapons like the cutter and blitz.

@Bulby: It was skill to mob a bomber and poke him repeatedly? That sounds to me like... spamming.
BTW, my DR rips apart both CUTTER and BLITZ- I have still been killed all of once by a Blitz and killed like two or three times by a cutter, over MANY games. And yet nobody complains about DR, because you can pop a few Trollaris shots at the bomber and you're set! What we have is a combat triangle- Swords beat Guns, Guns beat Bombs, and Bombs beat Swords- and all of these enforce this. And it's nice to see that actually works. Now teamwork actually does something- a demoman can break out the DR while a gunslinger inside his bombs can go pew pew at the enemies outside.
I do like the fact that uncommonly used weapons like DVS and Blitz are more useful now, but if the bug is to stay they should nerf the weapons that are too OP now to even it out.
Blitz in general just needs a nerf. That thing is reaching into pre-patch DR territory.
Back when Lockdown was first announced, I assumed they were going to solve the invincibility issue by at least giving multi-hit weapons some leeway (i.e. Autogun can get x amount of successive hits before triggering the invincibility frames, etc.), as this hindrance was prevalent in the original "PvP" minigame.
It's interesting to see some different weapons in Lockdown, but there isn't much dodging or countering any more. With swords, you just boost up to somebody, then mash the mouse button as fast as possible and hope you survive. I hope they change it back.
I have to agree the weapons are more balanced like this. You actually see people switching to guns (other than Polaris)to try and take out bombers. And gun fights as opposed to striker rushing in with flourish. Good flourish users are still top damages so theirs no huge overall change expect now I have a shot of killing them with my Dreaded Venom Striker :) and really considering it takes maybe a combo and half to do it that's fair. I see no reason to nerf that weapon back to two and 1/2 combos when a final flourish can combo and one strike you and that one strike on flourish is cheesy as all hell.
I quite enjoy it and but as much as I love usign the hammer/toothpick, I think swords should keep the old invincibility upon hit. It'll make guns and bombs more useful in team fights.
Explain how the invulnerability frames was a bug, because the same mechanism was in place in clockworks to keep you from dying instantly from being stun locked by a mob of fiends.
You like this bug because you as a beginner in lockdown think that your opponent should take all the damage from your mindless button mashing. You found the invulnerability frames annoying because it required experience in knowing how to time your attacks so that your 2nd attack begins when the invulnerability frames wear off. Therefore, you prefer the option that makes the learning curve shallower for the lazy and/or inept.
The quality of forum posts would be so much higher if they required a skill testing question to make.
I went up against Thrillhaus' guild earlier today. No complaints against you or your guild, Thrillhaus, but I need to say that this bug really gets on my nerves for the following reasons.
-Hammers = 1-hit combo KO
-Flourishes (especially strikers who boostcancel) = walking death
-Gran Faust/DA = Hit or miss
-Blitz Needle/Cutter/Sentenza/AP= GODLY
When fighting Thrillhaus' guild, I saw all of the following happen (sans Blitz; i saw a WHB around occasionally) and I feel this strongly imbalances Lockdown. As much as skill plays into this new form of fighting, there's also the 'mob tactic' in which one must stay in a group of 2-4 strikers in order to not be killed by an enemy swarm.
As confirmed by Eurydice in a different post (in the Bug Reports section) this is indeed a bug, and I hope that Three Rings gets around to fixing it as quickly as they can so everyone can get back to enjoying Lockdown as it was supposed to be.

you clearly have abused the invulnerability frames, preventing yourself from taking anywhere NEAR the damage you should be taking. so bug off, NOW.
We were aware of the bug and deliberately equipped BS weapons we wouldn't normally use for the fun of it. We figured everyone already knew about the bug at the time so nobody would be taking the matches seriously. You guys had a fair number of hammer users too though so it wasn't that imbalanced.
I have to say that there certainly was a much lower skill requirement for this new form of fighting. All I had to do was turn auto target on and spam the FF or Hammer combo most of the time and it would be an instant kill. Having ASI UVs made it even easier. It was so much more effective that I didn't even bother reverting to my normal style, which says something about the learning curve.
EDIT: Damien, timing the shield cancelled first strike takes more skill than what you do, which is button mash the full combo with auto-target. Of course with the bug, I didn't even have to time my strikes and could just keep you locked in place by as you said, spamming, which is exactly why the bug needs to be reverted.
Also I laugh at the idea of you going "toe to toe" with me. Since lockdown isn't a 1v1 arena, and you haven't arranged a duel of sorts with me, neither of us can say we have gone toe to toe. If you consider "toe to toe" killing me once in Tier 1 where you have double my health, using post-glitch hammer spam in a 2v1, then I applaud your mastery of the English language.
What's sad is that I'm actually making these suggestions for your own good. With the hit invulnerability, I occasionally mess up my timing, or I have to back off if I can't get the hit in, and that allows you the opportunity to counter. In your oversimplified view of things, you might think that no hit invulnerability means I take more damage, but I'm actually taking less damage now as it is much easier to kill someone without them being able to respond. I've been able to go entire games without a single death because of this. With the bug, it isn't even a challenge to keep people stun locked, and your number of deaths tonight is a testament to that.
Right, playing ld for 14 hours straight doesn't diminish a player... Auto aim is off for me, but I can't say the same for you
Regardless of 'skill' level the weapons are more balanced without invincibility. I agree it needs some tweaking !!but to go back a cutter line having first strike only counting and a blitz as useful as damaging as AP is screwed up. This brings more strategic weapons. Let's face is only three strategies before 1 FF 2 Polaris 3. Shock Bomb . Let's replace 'skill' with execution because that's what is. You should not be having execution problems after playing a few times.
I like that cutters aren't useless for damage anymore. As for complaints, why not just double the health:damage ratio? Everything does more damage now.

What should happen is that the frames are removed for certain weapons. Concerning the cutter, I'd love it if every hit registered but only the final swipe of the combo interrupts. You know, how it works in the Clockworks. I'd like to see this happen with Antigua lines too; it would maybe encourage using the entire clip. Maybe. Ok, not really, but it's still a nice consolation for when you do. Blitz should be used as a suppressor of sorts, where it does little damage in a wide area to keep everyone locked down, not the total cannon it is now.
Incidentally, the rocket hammers dash removes 3/4 of my health at once as a guard with one penta. That's broken and stupid.

Eh- I dont even really play LD, but I might check it out now that invincibility intervals arent awarded for massively different amounts of pips.
That mechanic has been very restrictive to a lot of tools in the gunners kit for a long time.
ImHo it gives ranged a "think about it before you come runnin' up at me" factor to counter the striker/sword mentality of "Were gunna' trade invincibility frames till someone dies, cause its worth getting hit if I can hit you".

1. Warmaster Rocket Hammer, which was a pretty good weapon before the bug, is now a 1Hit-KO monster.
2. Guardian Shield is now made of glass.
Autogun is finally useful, but i agree that strike needle-blitz needle needs a damage nerf.
Cutter is still risky to use, since it has low range compared to flourish/sealed sword.
Alchemers are a bit op. but whatever...

Wow, all this rage about Blitz Needle and Cutters, and nobody so much as mentioned Dark Ret. It's now as effective as VT in making a base no-man's-land.
Think about these good things about the buff.
1: One cannot simply walk into a room with 3 people and expect to live. Now you have to, y'know, use teamwork.
2: Weapons that were absolute crap before (Cutters, Needlers, Dark Ret) are now on par with previously overpowered weapons. I've heard angry cries of "Flourishes take more skill" and "noob button mashing morons", but the truth is, it was cheap, it's very easy to dash in a circle, and it's still an effective strategy to first-hit-spam the Flourish. And I was killing those same Flourish spammers left and right by RSS spamming before the patch. As for being able to react? Oh, yes, I can react very easily to a DVS, while Blitz Needle has killed me all of once in multiple games.
And wait, you'll probably shout "DR is a no skill noob weapon" too... not so! You have to be constantly aware of the radius of the last DR you laid, in order to make an effective "shield"... and guess what, guns rip you apart. I've found good ol' Polaris far more irritating than any DVS or even the Blitz Needle. Blitz can be nerfed- it's making Vana pretty easy, by some accounts- and Cutters, they can stay right where they're at, though they could nerf their interrupt IN PVP ONLY (don't want to hurt them in PvE!)
As for slow sword users... interrupt resistance would go a long way when holding a Suda. Which is EXACTLY what Tsu has been saying for ages now! That Suda should be able to send my little Cloaking butt flying out of my own DRs.
3: Strikers can't just strut around like they're invincible anymore- there's a definite advantage to Cloaking now. As for the Guardian shield, a decent buff, or perhaps addition of the invinicibility frames ON ONLY THE SHIELD, would make it safe to walk the streets as a Guardian again- the shield was cardboard to a Flourish anyway. This would make the three classes have equal merit- Striker to get where you need to go faster, Recon to sneak around and avoid damage, and Guardian to be able to guard and heal your team with the Shield.
4: Now, many have added that the Rocket Hammers are "overpowered" and before long we'll get angry cries of "Pay-to-Win", either from that or from swordies that can't comprehend just shooting into my DR. I admit, the dash probably hurts- but wait! I thought I heard it didn't work in LD somewhere? That's right. So if it IS hitting now, maybe the dash can be changed IN LOCKDOWN ONLY (not in PvE) to have one explosion per dash. Then it wouldn't be so bad, would it? Completely fixable.
While there are many things that need to be tweaked to balance the patch, I think this "bug" is a step in the right direction.

so, noobs who suck at Lockdown think that pro's who have practiced for an eternity, should be able to kick their arse's easily with just click click click? this is bull, i trained for weeks in Dusker, now that this patch came, i get pummeled by this crap, you guys are just jealous IMO. your just lazy, and don't wanna practice at all, i practiced, i wasn't perfect, i worked my way up, why can't you? so, cmon, get some skill. if this patch stays, there won't be anyone to fight and do this crap, there won't be no SK, this is the End-Game. take away the end-game = and that's the end of SK...

Go ask a Neilyo, Lord Reckful, or a Swifty how often mechanics have been changed in their competitive PvP arena over the years that they have either adapted to or overcome.
LD is in its infancy, just a flash in the pan so far.. and if you expect to never be effected by changes, whatever their outcome may be, hang up your hat.
