Make it so that materials can only be found in the clockworks/arcade

Pretty simple, really. Make it so that materials can only be found in the clockworks, probably at an increased rate, and NOT in the mission mode. (unless it's a reward for said mission.).

My reasons for this are pretty straightforward:

1: We need an incentive to either A, go back to the clockworks, or B, to NOT do the mission mode.

2: It severely devalues your "rare" material reward in a mission when you can, yknow, find it in that same mission. At that point why even bother giving it to us? We're going to find it anyway.

3: Honestly, materials have devalued so much they're practically worthless, despite being completely necessary to craft any kind of equipment. This would be a great way to increase the demand for materials, and also the price.

I wholeheartedly agree. I

I wholeheartedly agree. I assume crowns are able to be collected on these missions however, so it's not totally game-breaking.

That's the idea.

If one doesn't desire materials, and simply wants crowns and heat, they can go with the balanced option, which would be just to grind missions like RJP or FSC. At the same time though, the majority of the population WILL need materials. After all, they're completely essential to craft any equipment. As a result people would be "forced" to go into the clockworks to get the materials they need.

Well, this died pretty quickly.

Seriously, I was at least expecting some kinda staunch disagreement or something. Sheesh. Oh well.

I should probably also point out that it could very well work if the mission mode simply has a drastically decreased material rate, like 5-10% item drop rate in comparison to the clockworks.

Honk

How about fighting where you get no crowns, heat, materials or equipment but is based on player versus enemy combat?

I appreciate the positive intent to push people back into the Arcade, but punishment without compensation elsewhere means a negative update which means more people quit proportionately. With another feature added to the game it would be more sensible to further diminish the positive points for missions, but to lower an existing rate without adding anything new to the game would be like belting someone then throwing them in their room. Remember what happened after Dark Retribution was nerfed? Imagine if that happened again. The Arcade does need more incentive to go through or mission benefits decreased, though the above link could create an alternate version of the Arcade without heat or crown drops to turn the metaphorical crown income faucet down to allow the overfilled basin to drain by its own course.

No.

Materials are here to craft, not to make players rich.

They are already rare-ed by prestige missions and prices are going UP. I check them daily and put up what sells at a price I find ok to great. 1 Sold Flame Soul for 400 plus ah fee? Got bought! 1 Blighted Bone for 200 plus fee, got bought! (With bid prices at Vendor recycle price.) Btw, don't blame me for prices having changed again by now, keep an eye on them yourself.

But even freaking Nightshade went from '20cr plus fee if lucky' to now 100cr for one as the cheapest to buy (as I type this).

What more do you want?

I don't much like the fixed order of levels in Missions, but I also don't like the length of arcade.

And what's the problem with people doing one or the other anyway, whichever is fun for them? (I'm not talking farmers here, direct boss levels access was implemented, I assume, because people were diving to Basil and then running them anyway, pre-missions.)

I like doing Axes of Evil, or Twins, or Terminal Meltdown (as examples). Gimme more Lichenous Lairs or the Fiend home levels in Arcade and less Clockwork Tunnels (too much empty space to run around there) and I'd go there more often too. But always those cog levels with freeze or shock, boo.

Forcing people who run closed parties to do that in Arcade rather than Missions isn't going to get you parties to join in either place, either. Friends are made in Town Square, that's where I find new ones too. (Used to be higher level people to help me, now it's new players to help them.)

And no, ce price didn't rise because everone's farming, but because people put up walls of 1300+ bids for ce, waiting until other people put up bids for more, then moving the wall above those again... Supply and demand didn't enter anywhere.

(Yay to the one(s) who put up walls to SELL ce. Spoil the sad little trolls, go you!)

I don't think taking away

I don't think taking away materials from missions would be the right path to take. How about make it more likely to find mats in the arcade and unlikely to find mats in the missions?
