Greetings fellow SK-ers!
I would like to make a formal apology for those of you that are in my Clockworks Dash Competition. As of July 21st, 2012, I am letting the Clockworks Dash Competition die. Now, some of you may be raging at me, call me an idiot and a liar. I do not intend to keep all of these prizes to myself. To be honest, I really want to get rid of these prizes that are just making my list of swords very long and it has become inconvenient. However, I have my reasons.
1) I came up with a better idea to involve more people into the competition and have more fun.
2) The prizes for this new competition idea will require more prizes than what I currently have on board. I don't want to start all over again gathering prizes.
3) There are people that have been raging and quitting my Clockworks Dash Competition because of the unfairness of lag, etc. Although, there is an idea of putting people of the same region in the same competition and have several winners. However some of the competitions would be so small, it wouldn't even really be a competition. I have came up with a better idea (I think) to overcome that. There are also people that haven't been recently active. I give out my thanks to those that stayed and persisted with the competition until now.
Again, I deeply apologize for crashing this Clockworks Dash Competition.
Now on to the next topic...
I would like to host something similar to the Summer 2012 Olympics in London as most of you know or should know. I plan to host the Spiral Knights 2012 Olympics. Featuring 5 events: 6v6 Lockdown, 4v4 Blast Network, Trivia, Fashion, and 4v4 Clockworks. Each guild is treated like a country. So, Guild Masters can send their best players for each of the events. Guilds are not required to participate in all of the events. HOWEVER, there is a guild point system, where the guild with the most points wins the ENTIRE olympics. The higher your team places in each event, the more points are contributed toward the Final Guild Score. I am thinking the competition will start in late June 2012-beginning August 2012. The dates have not been final yet.
Here is how this new competition will affect my past reasons for stopping the CDC:
1) This should be a better idea and hopefully be more fun than just a competition consisting of only one event.
2) I am going to have prizes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for each event, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for the Final Guild Score (which will be a lot).
3) If you have slow loading time, you may compete in other events, such as fashion or trivia. Let your guild mates take on the other events for you and help your guild rise to the top! I will post warnings for each event as a possible reason as to why you shouldn't compete in the event and let your guild mates do it. If you feel confident in bypassing those warnings, go ahead and sign up for it with your guild master.
This is all of the information I can provide as of now. I will be releasing a link to a website with more information about every event. If, you would like to contribute and help me host this grand event(s), tell me in the post below. The only requirement is that you have an email account (preferably Gmail) to help me out.
Now, I would like the Spiral Knights community to help me and my fellow hosts decide on the SK 2012 Olympics Mascot! I have these already suggested mascots below. If you would like to vote for one mascot or add another mascot to the poll, comment below.
Mascot Poll:
Wolver
Tortodrone
Snarby (2)
Spookat (2)
Bomber Suit
Chromalisk
A Spiral Knight
Love Puppy
I will be updating this as more votes come in on this thread. Now all of you who are reading this, spread the word! Especially to guild masters, so they can start thinking about who to send to the olympics! I am hoping this will be a huge turnout!
Pretty disappointed that you completely just killed everything. Firstly you started talking about reviving it, now you're just quitting on it. You can't just toy with people like that. My Partner and I were really thrilled to have made it as far as we did and then you just completely left us in the cold (and everyone else who joined the run.) Worrying about changing to another subject. You just don't do that. It's stupid and makes the host look stupid. It's just not right.
That's all I have to say.
