New Shard Bombs: Obviously, the test server feedback was ignored.

I am not against the developers getting rid of the old shard bombs. I also think of a bomber in a party as someone who can deal great amounts of AoE damage and control: not an awkward sniper bomber capable of OHKO-ing some poor swiping monster that lands ontop of it.

What I cannot stand is that, after all of the feedback, they failed to buff these bombs. This is also somewhat confusing considering test server feedback comes from paying players. I am not saying paying players get special rights, I am saying it is odd that they of all players get ignored.

There was so much feedback about how this bomb is ridiculously difficult to use and has no reward to using it in the test server's feedback. It is extremely slow: the fuse time in addition to the time it takes for the crystals themselves to go off.

For being difficult to use, it is dealing about half of the damage of a normal blast bomb of the same heat and * level.

These are now DPS bombs, and they are also strictly for soloing purposes due to knockback (and especially, unpredictable knockback) and should not be compared to the old shard bombs.

Apparently it is way too complicated for the developers to fathom that Dark Briar Barrage-like bombs are a great idea for elemental or shadow DPS bombs, but no... we have to add in knockback and awkward mechanics for DPS bombs and make using DPS bombs in a group a living hell....

Personally, I have a hard time wanting to bomb due to the majority of DPS bombs being terrible to use while in a group due to knockback except for Dark Briar Barrage. What is an extreme bad thing group-wise to these new shard bombs is that the knockback can be random and unpredictable. Letting the initial explosion cause knockback is fine, but why the outer shards?

Nooooooooo!!! PURE

Nooooooooo!!! PURE PIERCING!?!?!?! GREAT!!! I already have the snarby bomb for that!!! We should prepare an RSS Funeral thread.

I concur

When I first used ISB for a Royal Jelly run I thought OOO had listened to the test server feedback and removed knockback from the shards. Turns out it was just the shock making the bomb useful.

This right here.

If it were designed in a way that the central explosion would knock enemies into the set of secondary explosions, as though like a combo, then I think it would be much more practical and enjoyable to use. Regardless, the fuse time needs to be increased, or the radii tweaked. Currently, it does not share decent synergy with itself, and is not being very effective at all.

my thoughts on the update on rss bombs..

only my opinion...but....

not very impressed at all....
tried out my old RSS bomb i had specificly for fiends.. only 4*..i hope the new 5* recipe helps it...

..even with an Extra UV medium vs fiends... Ontop of the v.h vs fiends from the bomb... at 4*... it was doing under 200dmg on depth 24 !!
(probably barely over 200dmg on d25..but..i could not be bothered with it..and just quit it after seeing the awful new setup)
tested vs..devilites...useless....
tested vs greavers..useless....
tested vs silkwing..useless...
(and i did try different methods of using it.)
..it makes me wonder..
if this "fiend"..whatever... you called it bomb.. is actualy going to be Any use vs Fiends ?...
ended up just using Flourish and hitting around over 200-300dmg rapidly instead..(a bore and not fun for someone who enjoys decent bombing)
i find the fuse on the rss slow..and also awful... (this is realy one of the main reasons it is so useless vs fast moving fiends..)
fiends ..most of them..tend to move fast..and...all over the place... so why such slow detination on a Specific Vs Fiends bomb?..its just daft..
(i could shiver` bomb enemys then drop an rss..but..that would just be slow and pointless also)

all in all...same feeling as "Wizeone" .. R.I.P .. RSS-Bombers...
(a Big part of my fun in this game has gone, RSS vs wolvers used to be fun..and..all the fiends..and..many things !!...
generaly it Was a fun universal bomb....now....i guess i`ll just use my Nitro`...and mindlessly spam the hell out of anything on the screen)

i`ll still upgrade my RSS to the 5* just to see..if it becomes awesome..but i doubt it..
at least tho..maybe/hopefully when upgraded the graphics-colour of the mesh for the bomb will not look so awful.

thanks for trying dev`s with your rss update...but...this is a total flunk in my eyes...

i just hope now that these new bombs range you have created will be fun...

No interrupt.....?

So cuz since the RSS was the only shard bomb I owned at the moment, I decided to take it on a Vana run. Just to see the new mechanics in action. Well I was surprised that there wasnt any interrupt. Especially since the best way (at least as far as I know) to use it is to get them in the first initial blast for the implosion effect, which means you have to get in close because of the small radius. I believe this bomb is meant to be rapid fire, charge drop, charge drop....but with its blast pattern and no interrupt its too risky to use. But again that was the RSS in FSC, maybe the elemental version will interrupt not sure....Can any one confirm this?

And this bomb on Trojans.....? I manage to get 2 simultaneous hits one time. Unless you can magically lure him to the center of the explosion, but then his shield prevents the bomb from scattering.....Again maybe I'm using it wrong.

I was just thinking this same thing. I thought there was a lot of good, constructive criticism on the bombs on the test server. it wasn't all "NOOO YOU SUCK DON'T DO THIS!!!!111!11!1" A lot of the advice was designed to make the bombs good and competetive. But best I can tell, every single thing was ignored.

1) Fuse time is bad
2) Radius is bad
3) Damage is bad
4) having six bombs is redundant and silly, there are many ways to address this.

None of these things was addressed. And so, the new shard bombs suck and everyone hates them. Well, we already told you that would happen!

I'm actually quite happy that they didn't change them, now I get to write about how bad they are... this pleases me XD

For starters, I think I'm going to write:
-No knockback on 2nd hit shards
-Instead, deal much much greater stagger on the 2nd hit shards
-Slightly more knockback+stagger on the original hit.
-About 25% more damage

But I just made all six of them earlier today, and am quite worn down from playing the game today. So I'll have to test them before writing up several paragraphs of useful information that the developers will all ignore. Then after a few months or so, I'll likely change my mind and say they're good, and hail them as 'the brandishes of the bombs'. And no one will read or care about that either. In fact, they'll probably not remember the first thread when they come to argue with me. Or maybe I'll just skip to the "I like them!" point. That usually gets more posts. What do you guys think on this? Sounds like a good game plan? Great!

I find it hard to believe

I find it hard to believe that anyone would call these things "good"...
