Hello everybody. As you see in the title, i need help for Spiral Spy.
The comic I'm doing is called 'The Retaking of Haven'. The King of Deinon invades Haven in the form of an ambush. These guys http://i.imgur.com/ZJ8IA.png are trying to take it back. (Sorry i mispelled 'tailor' in the picture)
1.I don't know how to do animation mapping.
I've recently read Happyapathy's post about Spiral Spy at http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/31275 and I really like what hes done with the program. I had also noticed when he showed his video on his "iPwn Handgun", he either added his own animations or edited old ones or just used one im not aware of. Anyway, if he did edit or add his own animations, i'd like to know how so I can use it in my comic.
2.How do i fix the tiles problem?
Whenever i use a tile in Spiral Spy, this happens http://i.imgur.com/01a42.png. I really hope someone could help me with this.
3.Texturing.
What programs can i use to edit the textures of the armors other than photoshop. My personal favourite editing program is paintdotnet which can be gotten at getpaint.net but it cant edit the textures for some reason. If anyone knows if jpegs or gifs can be used as textures or if there are any otherprograms that can be used to edit textures because when i try coloring with photoshop, the colors are off like when i fill something red but it instead it becomes light brown.
4.Looking for suggestions.
If any of you guys have any models or armors you guys think would be good in my comic, please submit a link to an image of it and a download link. I will also give credit to those who help me or submit their stuff.
These are some of the things i have done with Spiral Spy:

So yea. Hope some can help me!
As far as texturing goes, the png files use in the game are in "indexed" color mode. With indexed color, there is a set number of colors in the file, and anything not on the pre-existing color palette is changed to the closest thing that IS on the color palette. Go to mode and change it to rgb and you'll be able to edit the textures just fine. You'll want to consider still using a small palette and getting rid of all traces of colors you don't want so that you can change the mode back to indexed when you're through; it will automatically change the palette, but you may get a bit oddly pixeled if there are too many colors in the image. Depending on how you do your retexturing, the rgb file may or may not be too big for SpiralSpy to use without crashing; I've had it go both ways with mine.
For example, this texture set that I did was left in RGB, while this set of textures had to be converted back to indexed and this one had such a limited color palette that I was able to adjust the palette itself rather than convert it to RGB to begin with (you can do that in the "mode" menu under "color table" ... click on a color you want to replace and choose a new color. Everything that had been the old color is now the new one).
Let me know if you have any other retexturing questions. ^.^ I'm not very good with the program itself, but I'd like to think I'm good with textures.
