ive been thinking of this for ages:
i think that we schould have like a room/house in haven that u can put chairs and stuff in that we brough for CR or CE.
and u can invite friends and other people in...

you could hang wepons on the wall so they dont clutter up your invantary + storage boxes for mats...
there could be manicans with your loadouts in a seperate room...

and we could have a bed! and if u sleep in it u gain MisT 2X as fast and u can buy better beds that make u regenerate mist 5X as fast.
u could have one of those machiens where u can make/upgrade you wepons, mabye a little table with a helm on it with one mech wing on the left and the other sitting next to a hammer on the right...

mabye you can buy statues ,paintings ,wallpaper and floor tiles for added 'homey' touches and a chess board where u can play chess against people online and when the game starts u go to the board and start setting up the pieces as the screen goes black.

--if anyone alredy had an idear like this im sorry, I DID NOT COPY YOU! >:(-< --

+I've heard from many people that it's an awesome game. I just don't have it because dragons.

Suggest something useful and new; not a slightly different version or something we've heard 100s of times before. This is just vanity (and market-screwing with the x2 mist rate idea).

Like you wouldnt expect guns, violence towards animals (wolvers have feelings!) and stuff on a hello kitty game.

Reasons why some of this is not a good idea

Extra mist regen, while nice for new people, would be abused to kingdom come by experienced people. You see, people do this thing called rage-crafting, usually with an alt to save mist on the main. They craft 2 star items with their alt, which can be essentially for free since mist is free and materials might as well be free. If they do not like it, they can sell it to others or npc for free profit. If you make faster mist regen, these people would flood the market or spam craft to have almost infinite crowns. We do not want this, as it would drive up the cost of many, many things (including CE).

Unless your OCD, you don't have to worry about inventory space, because it is infinite.

Now, a lot of the other suggestions have merit, especially for the guildhall, which does nothing except divide by zero. Maybe that initial room you appear in when you first log onto your knight can have something more to it like this.

This is the Suggestions Forums. I see you've recieved your first bunch of critism. Try not to let it get to you. People here are sick of seeing ideas like houses, pets, dual wielding, etc, etc. You should have seen what it was like here several weeks ago...

Okay, lets try to be reasonable here... Everyone calm down.

Houses won't work with all those stuff you said about them because 1) The mist regen will just totally ruin the game. CE prices will skyrocket, everyone will quit, Spiral knights will die. Then your houses won't matter anymore.

2) There's really no point. ._. Although I suppose by the same logic you could say that accesories have no point either. Which is true. They're not needed.

3) Conflicts with the lore. The spiral knights are trying to get off Cradle. They're just staying in Haven temporarily because the Strangers are nice. If so, why bother building houses which require rescources that could be used to repair the Skylark? And houses make it seem like your staying on Cradle permanently. Think about it this way. Say you traveled from whereever you live to China. For 2 weeks. WOuld you buy yourself an expensive flat that you're going to abandon 2 weeks later? An apartment would work, but if you're not gonna stay for a long time, it's just a waste of money and rescources.

4) Want to decorate your house to pass the time? Try Snipe herding instead. :3 It's surprisinly entertaining, and you don't have to pay anything.
I sense a flaw in my logic somewhere...

Actually, most of the people here HAVE played the game for some time already. Also, this topic was one of the first I saw when I got here, and has been suggested to death/to the point where if anyone sees it, the first thought to mind is 'Ohlookitsthisthreadagain'.

No, the CE price fluctuates. It goes up, then back down, however many or few times on either side. Implementing a faster mist regen just makes it go up FASTER.

If you're going to make that argument, then no-one can go blame some mass-murderer if he says "They were going to die anyway, given another 20 years or so."

It hurts people's brain to have to translate it from it's alternate form, over and over and over again. Also, why NOT spell it correctly?

Maybe you should 1) Lrn 2 spell 2) Lrn 2 use search bar 3) Lrn 2 metaphorically 'take a hit'. People get called out for their mistakes here all the time. It's no-one's fault but your own if you refuse to learn from it.

Guys cut him some slack he is a forum newb. Everyone makes mistakes you,me,everyone. I still remember my first thread here...it got flamed but i followed there advice and now i can balance and and understand the economy some what.

@killerot Now killerot please follow there advice they may seem like "jerks" but they have been in the forums a lot longer then you have, so accept there advice, walk it off and and think more in depth about your suggestions and how they effect the community as a whole.

As much of a jerk everyone is, they're still in most cases right. Try to read between the lines and improve your idea based on the 'hidden' advice.
I could quickly think up an idea, the crew quarters aboard the Skylark are severely damaged, Spiral HQ asks us players that to minimize the time it takes for us to settle back in the ship, we repair the crew quarters (them being busy repairing the ships systems, etc) in exchange for a room in the crew quarters.
Now the problem of "Why would we build on Cradle?" has been somewhat avoided and we've built upon "Resources should be spent on repairing Skylark".

I'm not totally supporting houses though, seems gimmicky and I'd prefer content that I can play.

But yea customization and crud you buy for CE sounds gnarly.

if the idea is so bad, why respond to it. why not let it just die out and let it go towards the back of the forums. why waste time on an idea that can be easily well not easily but be found using the search bar. do u like to repeat what u said hundred of times or is it something else. something else like being rude to new users, saying there ideas are trolling u, or whatever. i think the best way to solve these types of problems is to post a forum that has all the ideas that has been thouroughly discussed and anyone who has questions can be refered to those links instead of putting people down because there repeating a mistake that has been repeated over who know how long. so in the end people who comes here just to laugh, and ridicule these post are just having fun being bullies. well thats just how i see it. :(

Saying just letting it die is a better plan is debateable. Like with pet threads there will usually be a steady influx of new players keeping it obliviously bumped until someone shoots it down. It might work, but on the off chance it doesn't, more problems arise.

Let's not make this another MMORPG

Spiral Knights is supposed to be a UNIQUE MMO. Unlike those other games (Skyrim, Sims, Runescape, WoW, and LoL) with all their houses and commodities. The crash of Skylark was a wonderful idea to be something other than "you make player then learn play game."

Making pets? Doesn't that sound like another MMORPG?

No, guild hall updates will have a room like what your talking about. CR and CE? For CE, how much are you talking about?

The room would be crowded, unless you can upgrade it and to uncrowd your inventory, then it's a +1

Imagine this:
Better beds = Mist regenerates ever 5 minutes (about) and more mist means more crowns. More crowns means you can buy lots of energy and you can craft more faster. That would finish the game faster. I recall that somebody said this before.

Theres more than playing board games when your in Haven and you can play Lockdown, do missions. Remember, chess would take like an hour to finish it. Then it would be called Hourgame, not Mini game.

We have lots of things that already exist. When you say housing, its related to Guild halls
