Hi wanted to make a thread based on all the guilds once apart of Haven itself that have disappeared from our great game.

1. Guild- Beta guild headed by Biznasty and Magnus. Very very popular guild, one that I was once apart of. As guilds rose and fell over night guild was considered a staple of success. Magnus, twili, Biznasty, fruits awesome leaders. Magnus was as skilled at pvm as they come.

Knightmare- CHRIS! nothing more needs to be said. Besides Kennyknight <3!

^ I decided to introduce these guilds together as Knightmare/Guild fights were so common they were much apart of Spiral knights as Vanaduke is. I can't tell you how many times I made popcorn and watched these two go at it (Magnus/chris). My haven trading days have gotten very boring since both of these guilds fell from grace :(.

2. Active- A guild I made. Which means I can give a lot of detail lol. PVM guild which specialized in t3 Vanaduke. Our best accomplishment was owning top spot for Blast network from it's start for many weeks straight. Mostly because our high activity rate(hence the name) allowed us to play a lot of matches. Some of the most Prominent Sk players came out of this guild. Some which started some of the guilds below-(symbol*). Now known as Unity.

3. Delicious Bacon- BOMBER GUILD AHOY! All the best bombers came from this guild. The guild is named after BACON! That just awesome by itself. BACON! BACON BACON BACONNNNNN!!!! alright I will stop now lol. Ritz and co are still seen around not nearly what they once were tho. Help THEM REVIVE WE NEED BACON!

4. The Risen- Great guild with an awesome leader Velcro. Was really sad day when this guild fell apart.

5. Finesse*- Lockdown KINGS! I remember when Finesse housed 4 total members. This guild rise to fame shows how popular a guild can become when they are truly skilled. Let them be an inspiration to all who wish to make a Powerful guild. Still believe they were the best lockdown guild. I would love to see Jempire vs Finesse match that would be fun to watch. You all know who I got my money on.

6. Team Dai Gurren- Best guild name ever(At least in my opinion)! Very popular guild at it's height. Sad to see its no longer apart of the fiber of sk.

7. Coup De grace*- Icycloud was awesome GM. This guild had a lot of talent especially one especially rich LAVERNA who captivated us all with his wealth.

8. Green lantern Corps- I forgot most of the details about this guild but I do remember it was quite big and popular around when I started.

9. Order of Venus- Became popular due to Lockdown. Hosted a great many skilled lockdown players. As well as efficient traders too.

10. Edwin- Still some Edwin players around tho haven't seen many lately. Safe to say this guild has fallen from its popularity. Great guild run by former Heavy weight Levis who still has those True love lockets(me Want!). Full of international players, Edwin was a place for all those people we can't understand :). Very skilled players and this guild was also very underrated.

11. Clockwork Renegades- I created the guild as a response to some really questionable/silly ordering around from the GM of a guild called Order of Cross/Order of crossB2. (Isn't this always the case? Rage rage online rage... lol. Those of you who know me will probably laugh hearing this.)

I gave my GM power to another friend, Becca likes to not be the main person in charge. Friends joined and we had a lot of fun. We were noobs together, happy with cobalt armor and excited to craft our first levi (*ok, maybe that was just me...). We got pretty big and had some fun players who were also really good at the game. Clockwork Renegades died because the main officers got busy with real life stuff and took a break from the game. (**Cough** Becca too). I logged in one day after a month absence and found myself guildless, only to discover that the person I left in charge of the guild kicked everyone and dissolved the group.

I found out that Trying had recreated the guild and was happy for him. I found my way to EOS, and am happy to be a "forever recruit".

Clockwork renegades isn't dead in one sense, but it definitely isn't the same. I still have friends floating around sk who still play. Some in EOS, (YUKA YUKA YUKA YUKA), some in CR and Unity. Don't know which Guild Fallconn and Bulby are in, crazy brothers...

It wasn't a big name guild but it was home. We had fun.

If anyone cares. ------ I care :)

<3 Becca

Feel free to add any other guild you feel I missed. Mostly going from my year of experience of this game and If i got any information wrong feel free to let me know, as I will be happy to add or edit anything. Thank and I hope you enjoy reading about the guilds of spiral past.

By the way this wasn't a list based on ratings of guilds just a list of prominent guilds that was lost to us. So please keep that in mind.

Whatever happened to guild/knightmare did they both just fall apart? I just woke up one day checked the forum and the knightmare and guild registrations were gone.

I would guess some internal conflicts and activity rates of their leaders going down (chris, magnus) really lead to their downfalls.

Guilds Guilds =0

Delicious Bacon ---- Is still alive Eeks n Ianea (I prbly spelt her name wrong) are still active along with their members.

Njthug --- Is still alive a lot of the members play at rescue camp so I hear.

Guild --- Disbanned since Magnus and Biznasty got in a fight over a different game and took it out on Sk, but even before this happened the guild was pretty inactive.

Knightmare ---- Went down the drain for the 20th time or more (if you count beta days when Sharkiez was the original owner who created the guild and it was not stolen by Christina) due to Christina having internal problems which lead his 2nd guild master Emily to leave along with a few others which created Perfect Storm.

Active ---- Died since Hollafamer logged in did not know any of his new members since he took some time off sk "quit" and went along and kicked a lot of his members which lead to Unity being created and leaving Holla all alone.

The Risen ---- Was a great guild I would say after Gwen left The Risen in capable hands it fell apart.

Finesse --- Still the #1 guild in Pvp in this game it created many more just like it (Apathy, Grundel Warriors *Even the Gw isnt connected the idea of being pure pvp base n tiny comes from Finesse). This guild died out due to boredom of pvp, but many of its members are still found out n about in other guilds.

Coup De Grace --- Not really sure Icy just lost interest

Order of Venus --- Guild master/creator left the game.

Perfect Storm --- not 100% sure, but seemed like they did not grow as well as planned.

Spiral Gods Alliance ---- Fallout Joined Eos along with a few others

A F K --- Mightyputty left the game.

Echo of Silence ---- Dogrock and Njthug got in a fight.

Hippie Drum Circle --- A lot of the guild just went inactive or went to other guilds due to friends.

Unity --- Lost its original ownership (In my view its never going to be the same)

The Felt --- Providence and Pieguy joined Eos

Reckless Knights --- Cobalt Joined Eos

Derps --- Tantarian joined Eos and Rose quit sk.

Clockwork Renegades --- Went inactive and key guildmasters/officers joined Eos

Clockwork Armada ---- Went inactive and guildmasters/Officers joined Eos.

@Njthug-WHY YOU EDIT POST LOL.

Delicious bacon- Might still be alive but hardly close to what they used to be. Thus why only people like us remember them.

Ouch sorry to hear that. Hopefully you two will patch it up. Bro's don't hold beef. Dogrock is a good guy sure you two will be fine.

@Trying
Reign of Chaos- No where close to being dead
Afk- is a good one
Spiral Gods alliance- Forgot about them tho it would be nice if somebody wrote something about them so I can add them to the list. I don't know anything about them.
Mad Bombers?-Don't know
Gunslinger Priests?-heard of them but don't know if they were prominent at all.
Hippie Drum Circle? Don't know
Elephant Ball Posse? Don't know but awesome name lol
Echo of Sausage?- Troll guild. Which also houses Hollafarmer my lookalike twin, who I have yet to discover who it is. If you know mail me asap lol.

RIP in peace! Nutshell Edition!

All I can say about Knightmare's 'downfall' is that it started when Chris an Emily broke up way back in January-ish. There was a lot of tension between them afterward, or so it seemed, and Emily started abusing admin powers in our Ventrilo server by moving people around and was really annoying at the time (I didn't have admin so all I can do was sit there and say 'stop'). Don't get me wrong, they were both amazing Guild Masters and told people straight up whether they passed the tryouts or not. They helped recruits get gear, and helped them through levels when they needed help, etc. Then there was Oovoo video calls, which I still have one recorded for some reason. Emily organized those so we can see what other people looked like in the guild. It was fun at first, but then got awkward for some of us. Those Oovoo video calls got some of the members to be really good friends. Looking back this guild was freaking amazing! There are some parts that I cannot say without getting things mixed up because I was not there for said parts. Some of the members and the officers in Knightmare decided to make a new guild. So they did. And it sucked. Destroyed the game for all of us now that we are all inactive. Diablo 3 came out, which Chris and I decided to go play that instead. Since then, Chris and I have found other games that we would rather play. (Minecraft, LoL, TF2 to name a few). So, now here I am posting this at 2am because I have nothing else better to do but tell you guys what happened to Knightmare and wait for Borderlands 2 to release. Oh work and college is kind of a big factor too. Bye-bye free time.

TL;DR: Chris and Emily broke up. Emily and officers made new guild. SK got boring. We moved on to different games. Got a 2nd job. College started. Borderlands 2 in 1 week! (Hint: I will be live streaming)

Snarkey is rich.

۞ The Dragon Princess's ۞ 2 cents

I've been around awhile, so I'll chip in what little I know.

First of all, I'd like to acknowledge Cloud Nine for really challenging me and tutoring me into become a skilled fighter in clockworks, especially in regards to bosses. However, the GM was not very social and I wanted to be in a guild with more Asian players, so . . .

I joined Coup de Grace with its many players in Singapore, including the GM Icycloud and my constant companion St-Leone and sometimes infuriating but mostly fascinating friend Kentard the Kenquistador. Then Diablo II came out and Icy, who had been a wonderful GM, became quite inactive and somewhat erratic. I left, then so did Leo and Ken, and Icy has remained quite inactive, resulting in her co-GM, Notbob, joining us in our new guild . . .

. . . The Jempire has built up a strong guild.

Here's hoping the guildhall updates will strengthen the good guilds and disband the weak ones, which dillute the quality of the guild experience for some players. Looking forward to those inter-guild parties. Cheers! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♫♪♪♫♫♪

Y u no sell me your Cheese!?!?!?!

I ain't too active outside of my guild and don't really interact with the friends that are on my list, I guess I probably shouldn't just add people that add me randomly.... Anyway, I can't really add any guilds to this since all that I know have already been said, but it is a dog damn shame that they have gone.
I would also agree with Mawa about The Jempire though, I've had a few collisions with some of their members but I was playing one of their members in LD earlier and it reminded me of why they are so well known, this person wasn't a twit and was competent.

Anyway, RIP to every guild that has past and that will. It's always sad to see guilds die, even if I ain't got no real connection with any of their members.

I still don't see why he is so great. All I have seen on forum (when he was still active) was that he kept bragging about how great him and Knightmare (more on the former) were, have little to no sense of economy (Dev shouldn't create featured auction of certain items that would erode his own investment, when theses auction are being used as crown sink to keep CE price from rising too fast), potentially dishonest (ask Magnus), selfish and rude (Nick got pissed off by one of his Youtube videos).

Great idea for a post, Holla.

The only guild I can really speak on as to its death would be Clockwork Armada, it just kind of died a slow death due to inactivity. Maybe there's a few left in it, but it's on life support, at best. All the GM's kinda just stopped playing.

I thought Hollafarmer was your alt Hollafamer? At least that's what they told me.

which launch guilds still exist?

Maintaining a guild takes work. When one wave of players drops out, you need to go out and recruit the next wave. I'm surprised that so many old, famous guilds actually die. You'd think that their leaders would care enough, and think hard enough, to set up a system to keep the guild going.

So which guilds that were present at the launch of Spiral Knights (2011 April 4) are still going actively?

The Risen <3 The guild i grew up in.

A little thing I'd like to add is that Gwen leaving as not the cause of the downfall. I'm aware she gets and takes the blame for it, I noticed myself back there the guild was going downhill and would eventually disband when our founder-guild master Velcro went inactive, which eventually lead to most of the Officers/Veterans going inactive too. So i ended up leaving seeing as the guild was basically just filled up with new recruits and barely any vets left, and about a month or so later Gwen left, shortly after Velcro quit Spiral Knights for Diablo 3 and disbanded the guild.

After the guild was deleted, it branched off into 2 side guilds. The first was "Incomplete" created by Lovelys which most of the new people in The Risen ended up joining. (This guild was disbanded not too long afterwards due to inactive members) The second guild was "Pseudoparenchymatous" created by Trevil, which sorta became the retirement home for older Veterans in The Risen :P Eventually it disbanded though with the active members leaving for more active guilds. (Jssr joined Jempire and Stolidly joined WPP for example!)

Btw, not kidding, they really did name their guild "Pseudoparenchymatous" >.> http://i.imgur.com/NXeUY.jpg

Guild contingency is hard, and somehow this is very hard on a game like SK. My guild is currently in our 3rd incarnation. What seems to happen over and over again is that competitive games hit the gamer base (e.g. Diablo 3, Assassin Creed) that drain either the guild administrators or a good proportion of the membership. When that happens the guild chain of command fall because there isn't enough new blood to replenish and good people tend to walk first.

Hopefully the guild hall update would remedy some of these problems.

shout-out

Corps Meltdown.

Its the guild me and pawn grew up in. Before that, i wandered from guild to guild not sure why anyone would really care to be in one. Then I joined Kyrios and Heron in corps meltdown. (along with a few others, most inactive now, a few still playing). Getting jelly and arena invites, helping eachother heat, and mastering my virgin trips through FSC made me realize what a strong guild was all about. That was back when i had nary a crown to my name and not a single real (useful) UV. It was unfathomable that i'd ever have wealth or UVs.

Anyways, Corps Meltdown merged with hollafamers Active and had a long and successful journey together. Some water flowed under the bridge and Active became Unity.

Unity is still going strong with many veteran and active players. We (my fellow Officers and GMs--not so much me) have done an amazing job of filling those spots we lose through natural attrition from the game. I know, as now that i'm not nearly active like i was once was whenever i log in there are tons of people i don't know. This means the GMs and Officers are keeping the ranks filled with a bevy of skilled, fun, and interesting players. Meanwhile, we have maintained (or regained) most of our most pivotal veteran players.

Part of a strong guild is a lack of ego and a willingness to sacrifice for the good of all at the top. I'll use myself as an example, as i became less and less active Hollafamer came to me and asked that i step down as GM so that he could step up and continue to grow and keep unity alive. While it was a hard move to make, it was not a hard decision at all. It did Unity little good to have a GM who only logged on for 25 minutes a day and didn't take part in Test Runs. While i loved the clout that came with being a Guild Master of Unity, it was time for me to step aside for the good of our guild.
