Okay, so about starting armor...

OOO, you do realize that every time you add more options to starting armor, someone is going to revive that petition topic about allowing us to redo character generation, right? Here's my take. Make some kind of one-use item that lets someone run their character through knight creation again. Everyone gets ONE. (Say, make it a mission reward upon entering Haven or for 2-star Hall of Heroes certification.) If they screw it up, let people buy another one for a bunch of CE. (Either way it's bound, of course.)

We get to rebuild our proto armor, you guys don't have to hear people [tart] about it and you can sell people more CE. Everyone wins!

That helps, but...

That's all well and good good (kind of awesome, actually), but it only addresses armors. You're still going to get nerd-rage over other character options, like when you introduced eye and height variants last time. "But new players get it for free!" kind of arguments.

Either way though, the GM input is appreciated.

Wait until they botch it before you complain. The way to get it could be super easy... could cost 500 crowns a piece, something like that. And even if it isn't, as long as they are obtainable within reason, all is well. Unlike the static flash, we'll all get a chance to use it, provided we are able to earn it.

I'm not complaining. Personally, I have suspicions that the system that Nick is hinting at would be a new type of lockbox (or an addition to current lockboxes) that would contain standard color variants (Cool, Military, Dusky, etc...) on the costume armor sets seen in the last few promotions.
But by the same token, I'm going to wait until they pull it off before I praise it, either. And of course, I still like my idea, so I'm gonna push for it a bit more. ^_^

Well, one thing to think of is that you can get them right now, but in Hallow form. I have a round Hallow helm right now.

Agreed. I'd like to replace my old Brigandine with the new Flak Jacket, and wear it as costume. Changing my eyes, would do, too (When I started the character creation was still in the Title/Login Screen, so there was only 1 eye style and 3 proto armor sets).
