I was wondering , why are the costumes not allowed in LD ? Some people answer me : So you can know your enemy's loadout and how to counter it .
But come one ! Be honest and tell me , how many times did you change your equipment in-game according to the enemy's gear ? I know that Bombers usually do this , but most of people don't do that .
After I know the reasons ( acceptable ones ) , I will put a suggestion to be able to use costumes in LD ( There will be another details there.. )

Bombers do it regularly, but others don't....so why bother, right?

No, I absolutely rely on knowing what people are wearing so I know what hazes to drop. If I have to rely on guesswork, I die before I even get one haze off, which makes me useless.

More to the point...why should people get costumes in LD? It's not a fashion show and people on-screen tend to die/kill you within a few seconds anyways, so the one and only reason to wear costumes is to trick/confuse people and the very fact that you're asking why you can't just makes it sound as if you're bitter that you can't trick people. Bombers especially. Haze bombs annoy you, do they? U mad bro?

It's a way that people would want to find attractiveness of their flourishness and beauty in a game. (how could I say no pun intended on? hm)

im one of those guys who has a weapon from every status equipped (Elemental, Shadow, Piercing, Normal)
Theres a few skolvers running around who have maxed elemental or maxed shadow. thier visible gear does not help me out at all.
so a few players use this no costume deal to thier advantage. thats being a colossal ----
How would you suggest they warn you of their UVs even if costumes are allowed? You're never going to get to see their max UVs until you can inspect them. Don't be so butthurt they have better gear than you.

I didn't mean if we are able to use costumes in LD to remove the ability to see the enemy's gear , there will be something added :
* When the match starts in normal LD , we can't press on others to inspect them
* But if we enable this , you will be able to see the enemy's armor and helmet ( Without weapons and UVs and trinkets if inspect is off ) and you will see the costume
Inspecting is not a fair way to do it. That way you have to inspect them to get a good, instead of a quick glance ("Oh, hey's in Skolver, he's in Mad") which would take forever, then all the other players have to do is change gear. You can't inspect mid-match so players would just have a proto loadout to wear in the Barracks, which would actually make my job, as a bomber, even harder than it already is.
With the help of Darkbrady ( Thanks alot :D ) , I think I found a good solution for inspecting .
First of all , to be able to inspect people's armors and helms , there will be a small box near the energy bar at the bottom right corner . It will display the armor and helm like the following .

Note : A small "UV Icon" can be seen if the players is enabling the "Inspect mode" , it will be displayed as a small Icon near the helm or armor and if you move the cursor on it , it displays the UVs the enemy has .
I'm a little sad that I can't run around dying in my costume-only set, but I do recognise that being able to see what your opponent really has equipped is critical, not just for gauging what damage/status to deal, but also for assessing if it's worth going after that noob in 1* gear when you're low on health.
That said, I think a user toggle is a possible implementation. You decide whether you want to see everyone else's costumes or not. You should not be able to decide if other people can or cannot view your actual gear. That way, if you so wish to choose form over function, the only person it affects is yourself.
That's a good idea Snubear , but if you toggle the costumes "on" how are you going to know the enemy's real gear ?
This is the problem we were talking about , and I posted an solution for it above your comment , so if you can tell me , do you think that the idea I wrote up there is enough ? Or does it need some improvements ?
Some people only have one loadout. People like they don't need to really know what you are wearing, especially if they just have normal damage weapons anyway.

Oh yeah, I'm editing my reply because I forgot to say this. As I was reading this thread, I thought of doing that. Like I said, only some of us actually want to see your costume. By default, though you shouldn't be able to see it. It would probably be an option under the game tab.

Yeah, it's for the exact reason you stated. It's so people cannot hide or trick others (such as if a player were to wear proto as a costume, making them look like an easy target, so when you get close enough you find they're maxed skolver clones! ). Not much of a reason in my opinion =/
And I change my gear every now and again in lockdown, mainly to change weaps >=)
Still, total support for costumes anyway. I agree everyone changes loadouts depending on the enemies gear, so why not allow costumes, I look so good in my Hallow fur set ^_^
