I ran into 3 matches today (btw im a above average LD player, Alot of people know me)

1st SOOOO many people with 3star gear in TIER 3!! On the other team. So we were spawnkilling and it was no fun

2nd Too many pros on my team, Still spawnkilling, No fun

3rd Too many pros on the OTHER team. Kept dieing, No fun

I think instead of having people working their butts off trying to get on the leaderboards, Why not just have like a average score for everyone, Something like, When you win a game your score goes up and when you lose one, It goes down. That way good players would get 1st on the leaderboards and not have to farm LD for day and night, Also this could be usefull for Lockdown Team balancing aswell!
Because this way Spiralknights could tell between good players and bad players and NOT put all the good ones on the same team. So, Please reply if you think this is helpful! /bye

Lol, why would someone actively try and get on the Leaderboards? They're completely arbitrary and pointless. I don't "aim to get on the Leaderboards". I use the Leaderboards as a threshold for me; when I reach them, I've been playin' LD too much (and probably spending too many crowns on it) so take it as a sign to chill, not a motivation "need to get higher" goal.
What would the purpose in that be?

Lockdown Team balancing aswell!

It's meant to be randoms. As soon as you start assigning victory scores to people and lumping them together it's no longer random. That's when you're going to get one-sided matches, as you'll have solid players with regular wins being bunged against super-pros who dominate the world with their heart trinkies and <50 ping.
Right now it's better off. Sometimes you get a boring match, but that's just life. Today we had a dozen crazy intense matches before we got even one boring match, then went right back to heart-pounding scores.

Besides, those "boring" matches are a good opportunity to experiment with new loadouts or tactics you don't want to employ when you're trying to win. You're going to lose/win regardless of what you do, so why not test out how much damage you can pull by spamming your Bio charges, or w/e.

Basically, you're suggesting a ladder system, where similarly ranked players are matched against each other to result in better games. Normally I would support this, but there are two problems.

1: SK's playerbase is too small for every good player to be matched up with an equal amount of good players on the other team.

2: If two good players are friends, they will barely ever play on the same team because they'll get automatched to opposite sides to balance the teams.

Problem 1 can be solved with adding more players, but that's a whole different topic. Problem 2 is more complex, and I don't have tome to go into detail ( and I don't know the specifics or really how to solve it).

So... :/

Be a positive person

......

I find the whole negative points system rather weird as quite frequently I am in games where the Pro is the only good person on the team and then the other team is made up of average players like me. The negative points system means that the pros have to be able to carry whole teams at times. I get that many players don't aim to get on the leader boards and it just happens but it could get rather annoying seeing your score rapidly fall if you get a bad run with your teams.

No I meant

I meant not sorting the players, I meant Not putting all the good players on the same team.

Say matches become balanced... still one team will end up winning right?
The 'pros' on the losing team will rank down and the 'noobs' on the winning one will rank up.
Balance for the next match will be potentially broken. Random luck again.

The problem is you cant determine how good a player is by some arbitrary score deepnding on the final result of the match.
Now, if the rank is determined by damage/captures/defends/deaths it might work... but then it brings the issue of people 'boosting' and faking results.

No system is perfect. Forget about it and enjoy what we have.
