For those of you who were curious

By my calculations the movement speed penalty is around -24% movement speed, not sure what the attack speed one is.

If the bomb bonuses come from MadB and the bomb damage gauntlet then the red present gives -1 bar of resist to freeze and fire, then -6 movement speed and attack speed. The curse resistance probably comes from a UV.

That explains why my Furious Flamberge swings were so slow. But hey, bombs lose the least from the attack speed loss. Sort of victory.

Huh.

Actually never thought of doing that.

Good job.

My Mad Bomber set has these

My Mad Bomber set has these UVs on it if it helps clear it up:

Medium Poison Resist
Low Shock Resist
Low Curse Resist x 2

So I'm pretty sure the presents don't have any resist penalties, that's all Mad Bomber.

That explains the status stuff.

Snort.

That means it just does the -6 movement and attack speed.

Pretty sure it's -7 move/attack speed. Wearing Merc Demo and using an Elite Quickstrike module leaves me at MSD/ASD Ultra. It'd be Very High if it were -6.

Now that's interesting, does that mean that you can actually get 'ability ranks' above "Maximum!" (+6/-6) and it just doesn't show?

or does the "extra" -1 only appear if you have a MSI/ASI bonus that nullifies part of the original -6?

The latter.

If it were the former, people would use Skolver and Damage trinks in LD.

/shudder

Interesting that it does -7 though...

aw...

There goes my (very) short-lived dream of just stacking Bomb CTR UVs and Trinkets to become a super-spammer who places charged bombs with a single click.

You could live out that dream in other games, though.

It doesn't do -7, bonus cancellation tooltips are bugged so it simply does -6 but skips the 0. A similar thing occurs when you have a +1 and a -1 bonus cancel eachother out, your tooltips go wierd as it tries to display "0".

So despite what it says, you can still assume it to be -4 if you have a +2 and a -6 combined.

That's at 0, but using a swiftstrike buckler (+3) still shows a penalty of very high (-4)... so I think it's still -7.

Hmm, that may mean that my theory needs work. I still believe that it's only -6 but there's something bugged with cancellation tooltips when the bonus is negative. What's the fiend bonus one gets from wearing an Armor of the Fallen (-2) with an Angelic Helm (+1) ?

tried it with a Seraphic Helm/Armor of the Fallen, shows as penalty low. The bug's still there when they cancel each other though.
