Why did OOO take these stats out the game?

It seems that in early development the character screen had some stats with the exact value of status defenses numbers. I was wondering why OOO removed this, since it was kinda cool. A picture for ya to see:

They didnt take them, they were converted into bars. Indeed numbers are better for comparisons, but bars look more stylish.

Maybe they could let us choose wich one we want to see.

From yesteday till today

What changed?

-They removed a vial slot
-Menu bar was different
-No comma in the crowns at all.
-No longer showing resistance
-They removed health when inspecting
-Many more

Wow, I want that stat resistance back.

They removed it!

Originally, there were stats based on your gear bonuses.

Missions took that away...

?

Missions didn't change any gameplay mechanics, did they? Anyway, +1 for putting those numbers back.

It showed you load out. As in your helm, and what bonuses.

Or what tier it's compatable with.

They took that away. Now it kust shows.

YOUR MISSION RANK.

I prefer too for being able to get some real info on UVs, trinkets, and comparison between same defense type armors that have different purposes (Wolver vs Chroma vs Jelly line, Demo vs Magic, etc)

It would help so much to actually know the real values and then be able to establish damage formulas etc... bars are only there to hide things.

But I really doubt that they would put this. +1 anyway.

Bars look really odd to me, like really really really odd. (I need moar numbers, numb3rs everywhere @w@)
Plus the bars seem to be logarithmique, it's helping a lot when you want to choise between two weapon with a full bar *sarcasm*

I can't think of a good explanation of why these were taken out. Would love to see the numbers back.

Hard numbers are INFINITELY better than bars, and will silence plenty of arguments and help people pick which weapon/armor to spend their shinies on.

The bars are nice in a graphic sense, but as everyone has stated before, the numbers are better for a game like this. The numbers matter a lot when choosing our equipment and the fact that we have to guesstimate a lot of the stats is pretty bad.

Then again... why not have both? (insert why_not_both.jpg)

The bars are much more noob friendly... you can see what each has, what is better for what, etc. The numbers on the other hand are much more useful for determining whether you'll be immune to something.

+1, I would like to know what my gear does exactly if I so choose.

We should just have a setting that switches between the two, on bars by default. That way, the people who don't know about numbers or are confused by them can have the bars, and those of us who like hard numbers can have them.

Nick has posted before that

Nick has posted before that he likes people finding out numbers, stats etc. for themselves. I don't think we'll see anything like this any time soon.

Numbers

I agree, both numbers and bars should be in the game. The sane way there should be a monster toggle option on the map :(.

@Milkman (Or more...Nick)

Challenge Accepted.

Gets ready to craft a drake scale helmet to go with his dragon armor. By doing this, he'll have absolutely no shadow or normal resistance.

On a side note...

I'm trying to calculate how much defense is offered by one bar of resistance from the stat numbers in the picture, but...Wyvern doesn't defend against normal or shadow, and I doubt that Skelly charms provide as much defense as a piece of armor.

Gear changed alot from beta. And maybe the formulas did too. So it's useless to try.

Wait, why not just have the option to switch between bars and numbers? I like numbers more though.
Bars will be bars.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Just so you know, I'm going to get a baseline so we can compare how much damage other gear resists.
