I've been playing for more than 2 years SK and I really enjoy it, but i'm sure i could enjoy it more without lag.

We all know that there's an SK in Asia, server in Europe and USA, is possibly to add a server for south american players??

I usually play with one, sometimes 2 bars latency, and for sure a lot of players would love to enjoy the game with normal latency.

I hope GMs answer this, even if the answer is negative, at least that will give me the impression that you're cheking our suggestions.

This has been discussed many many many many times before, and the answer every time is no. Why is that ? Well, there are many things that prevent this from happening.

First :

OOO isn't a big company with 100 employees in their office, they are merely 10-15 people. Plus, they probably don't have enough money to make new servers, I heard that it is very expensive, especially for a small company. Unless Sega decides to open more servers, I don't think that will happen anytime later.

Second :

There will be unfairness in choosing the location of the server. First, you have to see where is the highest rate of playing, not number of players. And in any way, there will be complaining. For example if they choose South America, people would say "Including me" why that place ? Why not eastern Europe ? Why not North Africa ? Why not South Africa ? Why not Russia ? And the cycle go...

And for saying that there is an Asian Server, it is true that there is a server, but it is not related in anyways to the main game. So your character on EU and US, won't be the same on the Asian server. Plus, you can only play with people who are on the Asian server, which is lame.

Yes, OOO is a small company, it doesn't have its own servers. SK's servers are hosted by Amazon EC2. If OOO decides to add new servers to the game, they will probably continue to use Amazon's infrastructure (EC2). This means that the options for new servers are places where Amazon’s Data Centers are located: South America (São Paulo) and/or "Asia Pacific" (Tokyo, Sydney and Singapore).

I would like to see an answer from the developers to see if there are any plans for a SA server. Or maybe the south american player base is not enough to justify a new server.

Well, I'm not talking about for a server in specific country, I'm asking it for all the poeple in South America, because players LIKE ME, usually play with 1 bar, and with LUCK 2 bars latency.

We don't take kindly to people bursting in screaming "I want this" and "I want that". You are not the most important person in the world. Just because you want something doesn't mean it will happen. The GM's/Devs could answer your question. If they want to. Do they want to? Let's wait and see.

By the way, Dragneel is right. OOO is a small company, and can't necessarily afford servers everywhere. And what about players in Africa, or western Asia? Do they get a server too? And the Australians? And the Russians? Do you see where this is going yet? OOO will(might) add more servers when they can afford it, when the playerbase is large enough to justify it, and when they don't have anything else particularly important to do. Which, keep in mind, is hard, when you are developing and maintaining and updating an MMO. So might it happen? Maybe. Will this raise OOO's attention? Possibly. But please, don't act like no one's opinion but the Game Masters' is valid, or that you're more important or better than the rest of us. Calling people "noobs" doesn't exactly inspire us to be nice to you.

Apparently, you have an amazing geographic knowledge. This is the first time I know that eastern Europe is a country, I thought it was a region. The same goes for North Africa, South Africa etc....But for Russia, it is bigger than a continent, isn't ? It doesn't deserve to be considered as a country.

Actually I'm pretty sure South americans don't suffer as much as us asians/australians. I mean distance wise it should be all right. I mean come on, even all the way to argentina, you guys can't possibly suffer too much, about 150-200ms latency. Us asians suffer 250-300ms, with australians going over 300 and new zealand over 350.

The asian server doesn't work very well due to low playerbase (consider us asians as hardcore gamers (no stereotypes here, psy and papaya)), the main server is where we'd go. So please don't count the asian server as an actual server.

Some of us have as much knowledge as the GMs do, less than the developers, and some theories to various secrets OOO won't disclose to us.

#1 Yes true to the fact that OOO or Sega won't try to add a server unless there can be confirmed profit and a huge playerbase. However, if people can't even get a good connection to the game in the first place, there won't be a playerbase.

#2 There is a problem with balance, because with the new influx of players. More people = More competition, a boon and a bane. Let me list down the possible curses/blessings : Instability of CE prices, more stuff on the AH, more language barriers, laggier servers?

#3 South america is not just one country... My point being that you can still get a decent enough (150-200ms is adaptable enough) from the far tip of South America (Argentina/Chile), so basically OOO or Sega would try to look to other areas, Asia/Australia.

Have you even read our posts? You clearly have not read our posts. Though we are clearly not GMs, it is no doubt that we can still give a say about why (with substantial explanation) we would disagree with this post. Our say is as good as GMs, just that it is the opinion of the consumers of this game and not that of those who work for it.

Clearly all GMs are required to be able to understand english if they were to translate, and they do not make the decisions. They are technically more of a moderator on the posts, and sometimes a messenger to the game developers. People who would make decisions are Nick and some others.

Just because we are strangers to you doesn't give you the rights to complain about us. A suggestion to a GM (or more specifically the game developers) needs to have public opinion, because the end result is towards the consumers, which are us.

It is just a little spare thought to think about #1 the game, #2 the people, #3 Us and #4 The OOO team. If no one had replied in any of the suggestions post, there wouldn't be missions, pets, lockdown whatsoever. Basically this is our contribution, and our current objective is to make sure you learn about this.

Hello? This is a forum. You know, those things people use for discussing things? If you want to mindlessly defecate out your thoughts and dreams, do that on your blog. By posting things on the forums, especially the Suggestions subforum, you are agreeing that your ideas will be publicly scrutinized and debated against, especially so if they are flawed. You're also obviously not smart enough to realize that setting up a South American server will affect more than just South Americans.

Hmmm if i recall correctly you and other "South American" players (i dont say everyone because i meet a few ones that like to show their support to OOO) call themselves proud for being all F2P and talk trash about P2P because they support the game and the CE you buy comes from them (sometimes i really feel shame from Spanish community that act like that). basically all of you are like racist with "p2p"

No hEll no. a South america server its not factible right now. there less South american players that pay Spiral knight than American players. so if they cant set a south america server were most of you never give a bit of support its just lose money for OOO.

Want South American server? start show you support to OOO, dont want to pay a single package of 750 ce? THEN no south america server. because most of that money its used to pay servers. OOO already give a lot for you those "F2P" (Like feller and Co.) that talk crap about people who supported OOO. in fact you already owe to OOO. so if you never give even a dime to OOO dont come here pretend you are some kind of god for them. i know not all F2P are like him and i know there people p2p on spanish servers (but theyre a tiny portion of the whole community). but i mean only PEOPLE LIKE HIM (edited to avoid misunderstandings).

So in short: Want a South America Server, Give a bit of money to OOO so they can put the server for YOU.

I would love a South America server! My connection is always 1 bar and rarely 2 bars, its almost impossible to play lockdown here, a South America server would totally change my and a lot of other people's gameplay.

Aw man, i dont think you know a lot of South Americans, i am gm of a brazillian guild, and most of us, and a lot of other South American friends i have, has purchased at least one pack, we do OCH runs a lot, and still you say:

Because i know there people on the south america country that likes to show support to OOO. but there people like Feller who blame and spit over P2P players just because they bought "something". i only buy when OOO give us a promo and my Monthly elevator pass because sometimes i have some spare money that i can use on anything else so part of it i use to buy it some package. and hell just to tell you when some of the people of spanish haven know i was P2P some of them start to insult me (i cant remember the name of the guy, but his guild has the name of some kind of anime).

but lets be honest, compared with the amount of players like us, we are just a small portion of the whole spanish haven that at least buy something from OOO. so South America server its not possible yet until there a noticeable (or big numbers of players) that buy some Ce for some OOO funds to set a South america server.

and what i mean its like: PEOPLE like feller owe a lot to OOO rather than OOO Owe to him. only few F2P tier 3 players? you sure wasnt there when Arcade was alive and people did a lot of arena looping on that haven. they got most of their "crowns" from arena looping bug. just check around some of the F2P players of that haven.

PD: i know few p2p on spanish haven. most of my friends are F2P players 5 stars, i can tell like 5 o 6 are p2p on my list.
