An area previously believed to be a abandoned temple has suddenly sprung to life. It's your job to put down the disturbance and clear out the area for our Geo-Knights.

Apperance:
Large open map similar to the Charred Court or a Decon Zone (specifically the GiTM one). Grassy/jungle-y. No "holes" into the Clockworks below. There are some pits filled with water. 5 pressure plate gates separate you from the elevator. Each Titan statue is in it's own Charred Court style room (when you walk in, enemies spawn).
Enemies:
  • Pebbles: The harder better faster stronger version of Royal Jelly Minis. Heavily resistant to knockback and shield bumping.
  • Rock Jelly: Modified to inflict stun and be heavily resistant to knockback. Spawns Pebbles on death.
  • Stoned, err, I mean Stony Polyp: A pure normal damage Polyp. Pellets that reach the end of their path over the ground without hitting anything turn into Pebbles.
  • Titan Mimic: Looks like a Titan Statue until you try to pick it up. When you pick it up, slime will leak out the bottom and start doing damage. Once you put it down, it behaves like a Rock Jelly. You can kill it in it's statue form. The markings on the front will be slightly different. Found in places similar to where you would find Titan Statues.
  • Rocky Giant: A Royal Jelly sized rock jelly. As it's health decreases, it's defense increases. As it loses health, it also shrinks in size and spawns Pebbles. Found in a room between the main area an the elevator.

It's too unqiue for a regular level. And with the Rocky Giant sounds more like a danger mission with a miniboss.

It could be read as a clockworks level with new enemies that could also be found elsewhere.

This reminds me when I used to play with rocks. I had a weird childhood. Anyway, rocks and jellies and jellies mating with ro- This is getting weird. On the right track so far.

Are all these rock enemies part of the jelly family, having shadow weakness and pierce resistance?

What if Pebbles have defense against all damage types equally except lower normal defense? They would move slower than normal Jelly Minis but be tankier.

The not-statue could be taken a stair higher by having those normal statues you need to complete the floor(s) have a chance to be replaced with the not-statue, but there would still be enough real statues to continue. Not-statues replacing real statues would be randomized so you never know if you pick up a real one or not. There could also be variants of it, one that does your oozing thing that deals damage and another that slows the holder and another that makes you invincible to damage but unable to put it down until it detaches on its own or someone in your party knocks it off you. For even more shenanigans after a not-statue has shown its true self at least once it can turn back to imitate a real statue, but while >5 spaces from any knight it slowly moves towards real statues to confuse players. Okay guys, we now have five sta- There are eight here. What the liquids.

Does the big guy have to be as big as the crowned? It could be the size of Lichens combining where it turns kind of orange and has spikes but still needs more yellow snot to get the two horns. In fact, this could be a new kind of Lichen where Pebbles can combine when their health gets below half with other Pebbles with <50% health to combine their health into one bigger Pebble until they eventually become a big lump of rocks oozing around. This is where I start talking about something that can be a completely different enemy. When this Lichen-Pebble pile gets its health chipped down it drops little rocks that look like Pebbles that knights can pick up and throw like pots, very low chance to inflict stun for a short duration on impact. Pebble corpses could also be used to create a bridge to cross a deep river that blocks knights from continuing to the next floor but there would have to be spawn pads for Pebbles. Maybe crossing the river can have additional rewards like clearing all four rooms on the second Royal Jelly floor.

Huh, I actually REALLY like this idea. Like, ALOT. The enemies you described are quite different, and different is definitely good in this situation. I like Luguiru's idea about the pebbles joining together to form a big, rocky, oozing lump. My only question is what exactly would this be categorized as? Clockworks level? Danger mission? Or even better yet, if you fleshed out some additional levels, I could see it being a boss stratum. Now, i know we already have a slime boss, but I can see this fitting in as a boss area, and if you make the pebbles and the other enemies be resistant against all damage types except for normal, then it would be completely different than RJP. Either way, I can see this being great new content for the game, which is what we need.

I think this should be an Arcade exclusive special stratum with no boss, just some unique enemies and map features. It would make the Clockworks seem more like a diverse world inside a world rather than a bunch of gremlin constructed floors with the same old "puzzles" which are simple to begin with. It would have no guarantee to appear except when the update first happens to give people a taste but once that gate falls off stage left people would have to figure out how to get it again. This would open up opportunity to make more special stritims with unique features and possibly special loot that can only be obtained in these special areas used for things like equipment for Spiralmon when the update comes in a few months or so.

Keep those wheels burning.

Oh, I forgot to mention this, Pebbles will behave like Royal Jelly Minis where the act like walls for Brandish and Sealed Sword Lines. I think the idea of pebbles fusing together is pretty cool, but I want some sort of a swarm (not The Swarm) enemy that might make a bomber more useful.

I had a normal level in mind when I came up with this idea, but with a little more elaboration, it could probably be turned into a danger mission.

Proceeding the explosion...

Will this serve as a regular level or a new prestige mission? Like what Juances said, it can't serve as a regular level unless you request for a new danger mission

Make it a ClockWork Level.

T3 has a miniboss level with the Toxic Jelly man. The rock jelly can swap with it every other time. 2 levels of Rock Jellies. 3rd level is the Bosss Man.

the level look should be really ancient and rocky.

Now that I think about it,

Now that I think about it, Luguiru's idea of making it an arcade only stratum that we have to figure out how to find it when mineral'ing a gate makes a lot of sense. The arcade certainly needs something to help revive it, and unique stratums like this would be just the thing it needs. However, once people figure out how to get it into an upcoming gate, it could very well take the fun out of it if people start to abuse it to get the stratum repeatedly for any special drops/loot the stratum may have.

Though, perhaps, entrance to it could be random? Perhaps there could be secret elevators that could have a low chance to appear in any level, or certain types of levels, that would lead to the stratum? Like a secret branching elevator that could be found randomly that would take you to the Rockbound Grove, and if you don't happen to find the elevator (if it spawns, but you don't notice the hidden entrance to the room that contains it), then you could just get on the normal elevator and proceed to the next normal stratum.

That way, people would be flooding the arcade trying to find an entrance to it, but the entrance would have decently low chances to spawn, so the special items/loot that are unique to it would be somewhat rare. I mean, who's to say the gremlins built a completely linear elevator system and didn't put in a few hidden gears or switches to change things up?

Just a thought.

@Klipik: Not a "rare" spawn,

@Klipik: Not a "rare" spawn, just a decently low chance. Nothing too difficult to find, just an every once in awhile kind of thing. And Not exactly rare items, just drops that are uncommon that you don't find too often in other places, but are more common here. Not anything like special gear drops or tokens, mainly just certain uncommon or harder to find materials, at least in my point of view.

There shouldn't ba any special drops from this area, but a payout near that of one RJP floor might warrant making it rarer.

Anyways, what do people think about making status variants for this area?

Hm....I think a payout close

Hm....I think a payout close to that of RJP would work just fine, if not maybe just a tad higher than RJP. As for status variants, not sure on that one. I think giving it status variants would change the nature and style of the enemies, which might take away from it. I can see the normal version of it, with the enemies you have thought up, easily being filled with stun, so perhaps it could be considered a stun stratum? We don't currently have a stun themed stratum, but that would even further make a case to make it a rare, or uncommon at the least, side stratum.

Would be fun to have this, but we must need more details.
What tier is it? What kind of mission is it? Clockworks? Boss? Danger Mission?
And the list goes on.

Anyway, this is the perfect thing to start actual Minerals and Stones Mission that will be given out by Bosco.

@Persef, I already said I planned on this being a normal floor in the Clockworks. Asking what tier it is is like asking what tier Scarlet Fortress is.

If the list goes on, go ahead and show it to me, but I can't read your mind. You're the one that needs to tell me what you want to know or change.

Sorry about that, Oaty. I have this bad habit of not reading the replies before replying myself.
Anyways, more monsters, more drops. More drops, more materials. More materials, more weapons.
These could either be the dawn of a new weapon element, Earth, which can be crafted from the materials dropped from these monsters.
Of course, I know there's a material called Rocky Core already but it's unacceptable that this is all they will drop.

All the lonely people, where do they all come from?

@Noklip: Nobody said anything about new statuses. Oatmonster simply asked if we thought status variants could be considered into the idea not new statuses to use in it.

@Persef: Of course, I doubt that rocky cores would be all the enemies would be dropped. Oat suggested it could have a payout around that of RJP instead of having rare drops. Now, rare drops could somehow be be incorporated somewhere but after the whole black kat and book of dark rituals ordeal, I don't think it would be wise giving it exclusive or rare drops.

@Persef, Yeah, I'm not really pushing fora new status/element; I mean, they're jellies so they would still drop jelly related things. Think of it as a different lichenous lair.

@Klipik, I was just wondering if people thought there should be status variants for the level (like what blast furnaces are to clockwork tunnels), or if it should be kept neutral (like graveyards).

Of course, if status variants were to be added, there would need to be even more new monsters, although they would all follow existing AI.

Maybe something along the lines of:

Igneous Jelly: A rock jelly who has found his home under a large block of only slightly cooled volcanic stone.

Putrid Stone Polyp: His mother was a polyp and his father smelled of sewage water.

Adding different colored rock jellies might prove troublesome if they could be found elsewhere. Maybe the existing stone blocks could be retextured depending on what theme they are found in?

Or it could all be moot, seeing as most people seemed to like the idea of keeping this area neutral.

@Oaty So, Gel Drops and cores still? Acceptable and don't we already have a slime that explodes?

@Maginicth Thanks for supporting my idea but I'm gonna stick to what Oat says.

@Persef, Erm, I never mentioned exploding jellies. Those examples were only ideas for two status variants, in this case, fire and poison.

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson......

Hmmm. Interesting variants. however, I personally think it would be best to keep it as a sort of neutral stun stratum. Making status variants of it would make it too much like other types of levels and detract from it's uniqueness.
