Hnnng...alright I tried searching to see if there was a suggestion or anything near it made, and the search engine kinda took a crap on me and died a horrible death. So if this HAS been suggested, to the graveyard it goes.

Alright so my suggestion is this: Instead of the usual Lockdown or Blast Network thingamajig, how about a Capture The Flag? Sounds exactly like LD? possibly but I shall go into depth with this and hopefully change everyone's minds. If not? well..crap.

At the beginning of a match, the team will be able to place the flag (like furniture in the guild) in a certain area of their territory. From then, a line will be drawn perfectly down the middle of the map, the screen will get dark and all you will be able to see is your own knight and a ring of light around you. From then on it is up to you to find the flag, carry it back to the base (with no weapons) and win.

Some details would include, your attack would be halved in enemy territory but be doubled in yours. No map would be displayed, the same with your teammates, and as stated above, when you are carrying the flag you are defenseless, leaving it up to sneakyness and teammates to help get you and the flag to safety.

As for equipment goes, I'm still not sure if we should have some premade stuff like in BN or just use our own stuff. (course I'm wary people will just blast polaris out in the dark and hope they are hitting someone lmao).

Some suggestions and feedback would be welcome :D (and again I apologize if something like this has been mentioned already :c)

This might actually be something. Just having CPs (i.e. LD) is quite boring as there are a lot of PvP games common in games that could work in SK. CTF, King of the hill, deathmatch(wouldn't be that good though), etc.

great idea. also, king of the hill, domination (not sure of this; the game where you have to get a point and keep it for some time, then go to another one), lead kill (not sure of this too; one player of each side has a death mark on him; the other team must kill this one to get an abnourmus amount of points; the other kills count as 1. this though would require new maps with no safe spots; which means, no regular spawn place) would do. but it is too much for one suggestion.

Not sure I like the Fog of War part, but w/e :P wouldn't stop me from playing if it was there.
Also +1 to forcing the use of teamwork.

And yes I don't think we'll be throwing in LD classes in there. Strikers aside I can just see recons walking right by everyone, sitting on the flag and bam 20 people jump at it. Course that could happen anyways but at least you take away the cloak part of it.

Also Skye, I only played LoL like..once but it explains my inspiration, or at least I probably played way too much Starcraft in my childhood. Good times.

And for everyone who isn't really caring, I am a lady~ 8D

Classes are needed to balance PvP, otherwise OP weapons or weapons with certain mechanics will stick out too much. How do you dodge hammers without Striker Boost? How do you get past a wall of pulsars without Striker Boost? How do you get to gunners without Striker Boost? Do I think Striker Boost is overpowered? (Maybe.) But anyway. Classes or some substitution are needed for balancing weapons.

How about being able to build

How about being able to build a base for minute in Design mode, then fighting around the newly created bases? The obstacles would have a large amount of health, but be destructible :)

Maybe, instead of having damage halved or increased, make the flags be torches in the fog when carried, so people can actually find the objectives.

@Klipik: Alot of things are easily doable without Striker Boost. Anyone who's ever had the unfortunate headache of fighting me in LD knows first hand how much of a pain in the donkey it is to to hit me when I dodge said things. It just requires thinking, and quick fingers. However since this isn't a discussion on LD I do think we might need some new classes for Flag, nothing really fancy but something versatile that can compliment various playing styles.

@Qwez: That sounds pretty nice. Originally I was thinking of having some traps and such in the maps like how they have in some of the LD maps. Maybe even put in some wildlife (wolver ambush anyone?) into the mix. The damage part though was to somewhat discourage people to just start flying in the other territory and killing off the enemy team. Perhaps the flag could be visible with an arrow on the screen if a teammate has it in his/her hands?

So who gets to place the flag?

Won't MSI armors be superior?

Why have your attack halved or doubled? If your attack is doubled you could essentially OHKO some players with inadequate defense?

How do you deal with guns? (Guns were pretty OP in the beta version of PvP)

How will you evade bombs around the flag?

We need moar details nao!

I'm not sure if you've ever played Capture the Flag in real life but both teams would have a flag. Its basically who captures the flag first (or in the sake of time who gets the flag closest to the base at the end of the timer going out)

I feel really dumb right now, I have no idea what MSI means lmao

Well in real life, if the enemy found you in their territory, you had 2 options, run like heck or get captured and be in jail for a period of time. The damage thing is simply to to mimic that alittle bit.

As stated above, still working out a few kinks since alot of people play with bombs and guns (I myself enjoy bombing) but would love suggestions in how to maybe figure out a middle ground.

^ I feel like both teams will have complete Mercurial Mail/Helm sets. Immune to toothpicks, Trollarises, VT spam around the flag, and they can run faster than everyone else.

@Vlad: I just got this idea like 3 seconds ago so sorry if its a bit rough. As for who puts the flag down well perhaps having some sort of team captain to place the flag. Then maybe you have "turf defenders" which would patrol and protect the flag in their territory (they cannot go into enemy territory) and then maybe then we'd have the ones (forever nameless :c) who'd go out and actually try and get the flag and could be in camo to match whatever map would currently be playing and weaponless. Course this might all be too complicated to implement for all I know. On a side note there would be pre-assigned slots so one team wouldn't just be a bunch of people running for the flag. Also maybe the Team Captain can go to both sides of the fence persay and add assistance or maybe he'd grant a zone of benefits. Up in the air really.

@Klipik: Wait, no toothpicks, Polaris, OR VT? Holy crap my idea seems fantastic lmao. On a serious note, I've already read a post (too lazy to get it) on how the MSI is so miniscule that they are trying to petition a med. MSI for Mercurial which begs to differ how useful it is anyways to fly face first into a group of 4 enemies trying to zip around fast enough to get a flag.

Also ty Vlad answering my question. I learned something new today :D

Ehhh.... I'm getting flashbacks of those T1 experiences of the party leader holding the key and spinning around in circles.

How big is this ring of light? Does holding the flag work like keys and statues? Is there a movement speed reduction with it? If I see the flag carrier (of either team), will I be able to tell they're carrying the flag, or is it hidden?

That leads to a 4x damage difference. How about just 2 so it's somewhat possible to overcome an enemy if you're better than them.

OOO would likely go with our gear for profit. With the lack of the striker, guardian, recon combo (Unless you're planning on keeping that IMBA P.O.S.) gear with movement speed and the already large damage differences between defense and offense would likely allow some more diversity in gear as opposed to going for the full offense gear with heart trinkets.

Some more unanswered questions:

Team size?
Score limit?
Where do I return the flag?
Can I cap a flag when the team has my team's flag?
Is capturing and taking instant, or is there a delay?
Will the teams be notified when a flag has been taken or captured?
How does respawning work?

Overall it seems-as it has every other time it has been suggested-like a great idea, and coupled with an amazing, tactical map (gates, flank routes, respawning blocks) it could potentially be amazing.

Team size? I was thinking 6-8 but it depends really on OOO's servers and the average person's computer to be able to handle big matches like that.

Score limit? Realistically its whoever gets the flag in their base first. If no one gets the flag in the base by the end of oh..8-10min then whoever has gotten it the farthest distance overall or how many steals would win.

Where do I return the flag? I'm thinking of a big flashy circular podium is where you put the flag at located at the farthest end from the drawn line.

Can I cap a flag when the team has my team's flag? Yes I would assume you could.

Is capturing and taking instant, or is there a delay? I'd think it'd be instant. You see it, pick it up then run like heck and hope you don't get stabbed in the process.

Will the teams be notified when a flag has been taken or captured? As stated in a later post I'd imagine an alert would crop up and an arrow pointing to the direction the team's flag is being hauled off too.

How does respawning work? Probably like LD but with longer spawn times (like 12-15 seconds)

On a side note I should clarify if the leader is still holding the flag when they run out of time to place it (30 seconds I think) then it'll drop wherever they are standing.

Ewps forgot the other questions. I think the ring of light would be maybe a sword length or a tad bit over that. Also yes holding the flag works like holding a statue, speed reduction included. As for seeing if they are carrying the flag, I'd assume you could since you know, they are carrying it over their head lol.

on ld classes being included

For a record, were trinkets to be utterly removed... You could keep the classes, however, each class would require more extreme changes.

For example, striker would have to be nerfed to basically being forced to have a sword.
Guardian could be all-around, but movement speed would require more reduction.
Recon would be similar to its' current load slappin a damage reduction med on swords...

I could provide a way to keep basic ld classes... But then the classes would have a glass jaw in many particular aspects.

-Fog shouldn't be so close. In fact, with a locked camera and such a small view distance, I'm not sure I like it at all. Unless you go Starcraft/LoL style and make a full-map minimap.

-Flag return time should not be limited, so the other team is forced to get the carrier, instead of making a line at the halfway point and waiting until he drops it because... his hands got tired? It would also give you more of a chance to take a more roundabout route, or dodge a volley of hits until your team arrives to cover you.

-Flag passes/manual drops.

-Instead of the classic object carrying animation, make it a flag like the Guardian Armor's flag thingy on the back of it. You know what I'm talking about. I know it can be done by replacing the shield with that flag, since they are presumably not going to be ale to use their shield and carry the flag at the same time.

No recons or strikers. This would make the mini-game creepy like slender, so I say +1 if you remove the LD classes...

But this sounds like another version of LD.

anything with a vision of 7x7 is uselessly small. You could be picked off by bullets without being able to see where they came from.

Ah, I think I remember suggesting something like that back then when they implemented the Blast Network :)

I find the OP's description of this PvP mode just a bit confusing, with the "dark screen and a ring of light around your knight", but I'd like to see some sort of Capture the Flag battle :)

Though if they introduce a new PVP mode, I hope its "game mechanics" will be somewhat similar to the Blast Network. A nice and fun little "minigame" :)

Fog of war: meh, whatever it is, it would be a pain
There could be things like candlesticks that you light like in CK's

I don't like the classes, maybe just the striker-dash, no bonuses

Well, by "minigame" I meant the system how it works; the "gameplay" of BN. Kinda bird-eye wiev, our armor and weapons not affecting the game, everyone starting with the default bomb and all that.
At least that's how I remember it, hope they didn't changed it :)
