Return to Cradle (Roleplay. Apps accepted!)

It has been nearly three decades since the Skylark returned to Isora. A small contingent of knights was left on Cradle to protect it and the Core from any power that desired to use the Core's energy for evil. Unfortunately for them, the Morai got wind of the planet and its legendary powers, and invaded it to find and steal this power. They ran into the same problem the Knights originally did: the Core was sealed shut, and the Gremlins reconstructed portions of the Clockworks to be even more difficult and dangerous to navigate, both for Isorans and Morai alike. Cradle's Spiral HQ sent Isora a distress signal, and the Skylark was sent out to respond. With its newfound technology, it should arrive in a few days. Until then, Cradle's defenders must hold the line.
As a race, the Morai are identical to Isorans, the main difference being that they are far more cruel and careless. Their weapons are more primitive and brutal than those used by the Knights, such as spears, axes, maces, slug throwers, and chemical bombs. Given the choice, most Morai warriors will choose heavy piercing melee weapons (hence the Cobalt set's normal & piercing defenses, by the way).
The Skylark is not the defenseless troop carrier you're probably imagining it to be. It's the flagship of the Isoran fleet, and incredibly powerful and agile. Its helmsmen have reported that it flies like a fighter and is tougher than volcanic iron. Among its armaments are 20 Combuster lasers, 16 "Puppy Dog" guided missile launchers, and the massive central Super Valiance cannon. It also carries several squadrons of fighter pods and boarding vessels.
In this RP, you can be either Isoran or Morai (except on my rare say-so). Neither is really superior to the other, but the Morai cannot have access to Spiral weaponry except in unusual circumstances, and vice versa.
Before you can begin, let's set up a few ground rules for the sake of fairness. Don't use other player's characters without their permission; if you do, be prepared to let them overwrite anything they didn't want to happen. Unless you're Morai, do not create any equipment not found in Spiral Knights. If you are Morai, please keep your equipment reasonable (and preferrably in character for the Morai, i.e. brutal or cruel). Do not do anything that unfairly influences the story, like blowing up Cradle. When writing out of character, enclose your sentences in double-parentheses. ((Do it like this.)) For the sake of cleanliness, when conversing with another character, edit your response into the original post. Don't make a new, separate post for it, as that can get messy quick.

I may make exceptions for particularly interesting characters or equips, but don't count on it. You get kudos from me for using any equips that previous players created.
With that, you may begin! First app gets a virtual cookie.

I may not have initially made it clear that Isorans cannot use Morai weapons. They can only use existing Spiral weaponry. Your custom flamethrower would make an excellent Morai heavy weapon (cue evil laugh), but Tyrexo cannot use it as-is.
You have a couple of options.
1) Make Tyrexo a Morai, which would require you to forfeit his Combuster, Magma Driver, and Ash of Agni (but not Chaos, as that is not a Spiral armor set). He can keep the Friper.
2) Forfeit Tyrexo's Friper, and give it to the Morai. He can keep everything else.
Characters can acquire new gear as they go, so it's okay if your character is under-equipped at first.
The virtual cookie is yours!

It's chocolate chip. ;)

Fripers and other random explosives is the way to go then ;)

The names all come from the Triumvir Order, a.k.a. "The Triumvirate." It's the Morai equivalent of the "Spiral Order."

((Been a while since I saw a roleplay pop-up in these forums, let me give this a shot :) ))
Faction: Spiral
Name: Trivoc
Gender: Male
Apearance: Normal height, Vermillion personal color
Personality: Trivoc is not a very talkative person. He keeps quiet and speaks only when he deems it necessary. It's not because he is unfriendly however. He can actually be quite nice, if people have the will to actually know him. He is calm and collected, even in a heated battle. He also possesses a determination as hard as the Roarmulus' skin; he will do everything he can to get something done, even if it is beyond his power.
Arsenal: He wears a Miracle Hood, and Silvermail as his usual armor. His weapons include a Cold Iron Carver, a Silversix, and an Irontech bomb for covert demolition. He wields a Mighty Defender as his shield
Bio: Born and raised up to a young age on the Isoran home planet, Trivoc was quickly enlisted by his father into the Isoran Armed Forces, better known as: The Spiral Knights. He didn't see much action before he was chosen to go with the original expedition of the Skylark, which ended in disaster nearly three decades ago.
The majority of his combat experience was on Cradle, and the Clockworks. He even recalls a strange experience where he swears that they were assisted by Clockwork creatures during a dangerous encounter in Candlestick Keep.
He was not there when the core was unlocked by some great Knight, but he was glad that the Isorans could finally return home to their families. Trivoc however, had no family left. His father was killed in action during the 1st Core War ((the setting of the game itself)) and his mother died from age later on. He had no brothers, sisters, or relatives to return to on Isora. In fact, he felt that he had spent so long on Cradle that he probably wouldn't fit into the Isoran society anymore. So he decided to join the group of volunteer Knights who protected the Core from those who had ill-intentions for its power.
/end-of-application
((As you can see, I've added a couple of my own fields that I thought were necessary for character description (Gender) and development (Personality). I also did not include the eye shape in my appearance because, I just think it would be better if the eye shapes weren't fixed on a single one, and instead were changed by the Knight to reflect his feelings on a situation (ie. Determined during a battle, Closed when bored, Cheeky when they feel cheeky, and angry when they feel... well, angry). Just my thoughts, but I think it would be better when we're writing, to give the reader a better visual experience of the knight (it seems so wrong to have Determined Eyes when having a casual conversation XD). But hey, this is your Roleplay so you have the final word on evertything.
You may also be wondering as to why I'm putting this chat in double parentheses. It's a mechanic from the roleplay that I used to run, where we encased Out-Of-Character text (ie. text that has no place in the roleplay's world, or breaks the 4th wall) in double parentheses. Expect me to do this in this roleplay as well :)

Tyrexo accepted! Welcome to the Morai Empire.
I'm trying to explore the Morai military structure, and have come up with a few ranks.
Beserker: the grunts of the military.
Commissar: squad commanders
Enforcer: equivalent of sergeants. Responsible for drilling & training all Commissars and Beserkers, as well as leading them into battle.
I may list more as the need arises. All Morai players start as Beserkers until a higher-ranking officer (of my making) sees them do something commendable, at which point they will be recommended for a promotion. Similarly, all Spiral players start off as Knights until they have displayed great skill or leadership.
I will be both Spiral HQ and Triumvir HQ.

Faction: Morai
Name: Jari Steelclaw
Appearance: Sultry eyes, normal height, Violet personal colour, has a prosthetic arm
Arsenal: Toximask, Hazsuit, No Shield, Venomspewer, Combat Defibrillator, his mind
Bio: The Spiral Order employed many psychologists to analyse Jari Steelclaw, only for them to reach negative conclusions. When he was young, he poisoned his pet Snipe with a concoction he brewed out of Rabid Wolver saliva and Virulisk Venom. When he was 18, he was banished from the Spiral Order for lacing Feron's coffee with toxins. Feron fortunately survived, and ordered Jari to be exiled into the Clockworks. Jari then came across a Morai party, and agreed to join them. His weapons are far beyond anything the Morai have made and they are grateful for his experiments, which have furthered Morai technology. What they were happy to ignore, were the countless number of Morai prisoners given to Jari to "experiment" on, although the few who survived these tests would more refer to them as torture. Jari has few friends, and his happy as long as he has someone or something to experiment on. He is extremely psychopathic (if anyone's read my story Skolver, they'll know what sort of character he's going to be), and enjoys the misery of others. He prefers to dabble in the field of the mind, and is forever searching for the way to truly control a mind.

Star level: 5*
Damage types/resistances: Elemental Damage, Fair chance of dealing strong poison
Swing style: 1 projectile clip gun, sprays acid in front of it before needing to reload

Edit: Uh oh, I was making this before you posted that. Can you make my character an exception, as he's a turncoat and he's an evil schemer/torturer/scientist?

((I like your suggested changes. I shall implement them at once. Your character app is accepted; you may begin at any time.))

((You get a virtual cookie for recommending the first Morai character (besides Svanto, who doesn't count because it wasn't his first choice).

It's a sugar cookie. :D
Jari Steelclaw is accepted. I like your balanced equips for him; nice job! Since the Isorans have the same biological makeup as the Morai, I don't mind him being a turncoat.))

((I think it would be a better idea to wait for a few more people before we being. right now we have only 1 Isoran, and 2 Morai. Maybe when we have about 2-3 each? Also, I'm going to be logging off soon, so expect my first post to be a little later in the day.
Oh, and while I do not claim to be an expert on Roleplaying, maybe you'd like to give my old roleplay, "The Clockwork Renegades" a look. (It's the old one, not the new one that was made by Ebil-bunny). It might give you some ideas, who knows :) ))

Name: Gwenyvier
Gender: female
Faction: Core
Appearance: delicate eyes, normal height, white personal color. w/o her helmet, she has long, lank, thick silver hair, some of which covers her right eye. There is a hair-thin, zig-zagging Void scar under her right eye.
Arsenal: Shield Bracelet; Valkyrie Helm w/ Glow Eyes; Valkyrie Mail w/ Divine Valkyrie Wings, Crest of Summer & Sunshine Aura
Costume (when needed): White Rose Cavalier hat w/ Divine Helm-Mounted Display, White Rose Tabard w/ Crest of Winter & Twinkle Aura
Bio: You shall discover in due time. ;)

((I have, actually, espied your old Clockwork Renegades fanfic. I don't remember it very well, though. This is my first time manning a roleplaying game, but not my first time participating in one.))

I did some morai battleships and i hope they will get accepted:
Removed due to being decelined and it took to much size
And finally a matching morai character:
Kyrto
Male
Tall, lake color
Elite pilots armor, helm of might, commander of fleet badge and a blastgun.
Hes commander of the morai fleet, legend says that hes never set his foot on a planet.

((Let's keep the fleet variety to a minimum. There's too many ships in play there, and only a few of them will be used anyways. At present, only a Morai Mothership is orbiting Cradle. The Motherships are armed with about 20-30 laser emitters, about 10 or so rocket launchers, and numerous boarding pods. They do not carry any fighters, as that goes against Morai military doctrine. Their boarding pods do have defensive weaponry, however, and in practice have been demonstrated to successfully battle Isoran starfighters.
I do, however, like the names you've given for the Morai crafts. May I be allowed to use them as new Morai ships are needed?
Unstable-Ordinance's Toximask and Hazsuit will double as pilot gear for the Morai, so your helm & armor suggestions are rejected.
I like your name for the Morai commander, but his armor will need a revamp, since I rejected it. I think he should wear the 5* variants of the Triumvir Helm and Armor. He's the commander; he doesn't need a pilot suit. xD
Chaingun rejected. Arrows aren't fired from a gun.
Stellar Chingun rejected. No arrows in space, please.
Pulsegun rejected. Insufficient description.
Blastgun name & star level accepted. Weapon mechanics rejected for being OP in a standard-issue gun.))

And its easy to make names heres some more if youd like:
Gor'kazam
Bod'gudded
Eq'laror
...
If you want me to come up with a certain sort of name just ask

((Thanks for the names! I'd like to recommend that any future Morai players ask for a Morai name. They don't have to, of course, but I recommend it. Those are pretty good.))

The Skylark rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding a massive beam fired from the Morai cruiser. She returned fire with several Combuster pulses, tearing up the cruiser's shields and finished it off with a volley of missiles. Ozlo wiped the coolant from his forehead and gave the order to charge the Super Valiance cannon. As the next wave of Morai cruisers approached, he gave the signal, and the cannon was fired. It tore straight through two of the cruisers and damage a third one on its way. The Morai counterattacked and pummelled the Skylark's shield, bringing it down to Yellow strength.
Getting back to Cradle would NOT be easy if this level of resistance continued.
Meanwhile...
A mysterious white figure moved through Haven. It kept its head bowed, so no one could see its face through its White Rose hat. It approached Trivoc and whispered, "Are you interested in a lucrative mission?"
Curious, Trivoc replied: "Who are you?"
She raised her head. Her scar was now visible. "You don't need to know that yet. I understand why you are wary of me; NCOs don't often give out missions, and those who do are often corrupted or impure. Let it suffice that I am not one such being. I am..." She had to choose her words carefully, "...a very interested party in your coming trials."
She brought out her divine pipe and lit it. "The mission pays out about 10k per run. So, are you interested or what?" Trivoc paused. "I'm interested in what you're saying but...can you explain how this mission of yours benefits our position here on Cradle? As I'm sure you know, the Morai are closing in on this planet. Will this mission be in any way beneficial to the protection of The Core?" Trivoc asked.
Gwen tossed him a Volcanic Pipe. "These pipes are always hot, and do not need to be lit up in order to produce steam ((Knights don't smoke)). This one was taken straight from the Citadel, made by yours truly. Enjoy."
She continued. "To answer your question, this mission is critical to the protection of the Core." She bit her lip, trying to find a way to describe it without revealing...that...and said, "I need you to retrieve an Echo Stone for me. I cannot perform this mission myself for reasons I shouldn't state."
Two Azure Guardians began to approach them. Gwen had been spotted. While anxiously looking for a quick exit, she whispered and added, "Meet me in the Iron Lion Gate, depth 23."
She then darted off, both Azure Guardians in hot pursuit.

((I'm not sure about the pilot gear being the Toximask and Hazsuit, because I feel that Jari should be seperate from both the Spiralians and the Morai, and sort of like a mercenary. I could think up something for the pilots though. In other news, my segment should be up in about one and a half hours))

Two Morai guards opened the door, carrying a prisoner in handcuffs between them. Jari studied the convict’s face, noticing that he was a Spiralian too, and smiled. The knight looked up at him and his face turned white. Evidently, he had heard the rumours. Jari gestured towards the dentist chair, which was modified with clamps and screws into a “studying chair”, as Jari referred to it. “Take a seat”, he said, as if the prisoner had a choice. He was like the others, brought before the infamous Jari Steelclaw to be experimented on.
The knight looked up at Jari scaredly, not knowing what was about to commence. “Wh-wh-what are you going to do to me?”, he quivered, looking at the various torture instruments on the wall. Jari chuckled, “Oh, it’s nothing. I just need you to answer a question for me”. The knight smiled shakily, “I-I can do that, I think”. Jari smiled back, but it was not one of warmth, but of evil pleasure. “Good”, he replied, “Right then. I want to ask you, how long can an average knight survive if I replace his head with a wolver’s?”.
One of the Morai guards winced, hearing the screams coming from inside the chamber. He could never get over all the sawing and thrashing but he was afraid to speak out, or else Dr. Steelclaw might want him to be in there with him. He remembered yesterday, when Jari ordered him to get a wolver from the Clockworks. Dragging it in with it’s feet tied together, having to listen to its howls and cries. It was torture for him, but he was certain that it would be worse for the wolver. He often had nightmares, of the grinding of the saw, the sound blood makes when it splatters the floor. The guard even had a strange feeling that Jari enjoyed their pain. Now that he thought about it, it wasn’t that strange after all.
“There,” Jari laughed, “Good as new.”. The ex-knight howled, scratching its sides and generally struggling to come to terms with its new form. “So,” Jari asked, ”How’s the new body?”. The wolver-knight barked, “Ruff”.

Actully i wont be able to post like that unstable did imma just be here and read...

((By the way, I forgot to mention my character's shield XD. It's just a Mighty Defender. I'll edit it into my app later.
Another question as well... How are the Knights' relations with the Clockwork creatures? Have they come to a truce, or are they still enemies?))
Trivoc
It was a normal day in Haven. Snipes glided gracefully through the rooftops as Strangers and Knights bartered for goods in the Bazaar and Auction house. The sun was shining, and all around the place plant life gave the sense of peace and tranquility.
But Trivoc knew better.
He, the travelling Isorans, and the other Knights who were on Cradle had heard the news; The Morai had discovered Cradle and The Core. Now, a Morai Planetary Assault Force was en route to Cradle, and every Isoran who could hold a weapon had to be ready for war. The thought made Trivoc wince [When I came to Cradle, I had to forget everything I was taught in training and learn new combat techniques to reach the Core. Now, our age-old enemies are back and I can't remember a darned thing about fighting them...] He thought sullenly.
He swallowed his fear and trudged onwards [No... thoughts like that wont help you. You need to keep your mind clear and ready. The Morai could be here at any minute] He thought in an attempt to suppress his anxiety.
While he was caught in his thoughts, Trivoc barely noticed an Isoran donning a White Rose set approach him. He was snapped back to his senses when the female Knight spoke. "Are you interested in a lucrative mission?" She said.
Trivoc was caught off-guard, and had to process what she said before he could respond. "Who are you?" He asked. Trivoc didn't recognize her as one of the commanding Knights on Cradle, so who was she to give out missions? Was she a private contractor looking for mercenaries? Was she some undercover Knight giving missions to select soldiers? Trivoc knew he was letting his imagination run away, so he stopped himself and waited for the female Knight to respond.
She raised her head and revealed a Void scar underneath the White Rose hat. Trivoc was taken aback at this, he had seen it before, and he had seen a lot of Knights with that scar get "put down". The others who lived ended up speaking nonsense about Light and Darkness every minute of their lives. If this woman had a Void scar, and wasn't corrupt or insane, then she was indeed something else. [This woman is no ordinary Knight] He thought. "
You don't need to know that yet. I understand why you are wary of me; NCOs don't often give out missions, and those who do are often corrupted or impure. Let it suffice that I am not one such being. I am..." She paused for a moment. "...a very interested party in your coming trials." She then brought out a Divine Pipe, which she subsequently lit. "The mission pays out about 10k per run. So, are you interested or what?" She asked.
Trivoc was unsure of how to respond. 10,000 crowns was a very large number. But should he really be abandoning his post on Haven just for some extra cash? And was this woman really not corrupted? He had to consider this for a moment. "I'm interested in what you're saying but... Can you explain how this mission of yours benefits our position here on Cradle? As I'm sure you know, the Morai are closing in on this planet. Will this mission be in any way beneficial to the protection of The Core?" Trivoc asked.
He needed to make sure that the job he was being offered was for the good of all the Isorans, and not just a few. It was, after all, the oath he had taken when he was made an official Knight so long ago.
The female Knight tossed him a Volcanic Pipe. "These pipes are always hot, and do not need to be lit up in order to produce steam This one was taken straight from the Citadel, made by yours truly. Enjoy." She said. Trivoc had to wonder why she had given him a pipe of all things. Was it a bribe?
She continued. "To answer your question, this mission is critical to the protection of the Core." She bit her lip and thought for a while before finally saying "I need you to retrieve an Echo Stone for me. I cannot perform this mission myself for reasons I shouldn't state."
Two Azure Guardians began to approach them. The 2 Knights spotted the girl in the White Rose set and quickened their pace. The female Knight darted her head around and said "Meet me in the Iron Lion Gate, depth 23." before dashing off.
The 2 Azure Guardians gave chase, and they all disappeared into the crowd of the Bazaar.
This had now left Trivoc even more confused than before. [Who IS that woman? If she's not corrupted as she claims to be, why are Knights looking for her? More importantly, should I really take this mission? What if I'm just being used?] Trivoc debated with himself for good long while before finally deciding.
[I'll accept her offer just to see what it is, if the job breaks the Knight Code in any way, or seems like a malicious ploy, I'll pull out] He thought as he headed for the Arcade. He only hoped that he was not making the wrong decision by trusting that girl, whoever she was.
((Done. I shall now use the Post-Then-Edit style of writing conversations :). If you want other people to use it as well, I suggest you put it into the OP.))

((I really want to edit the conversations into prior posts. I'm inclined to make it an official process for this RP, actually. I always wanted to try it, but I would have needed everyone else to be aware that it was happening. In short, I choose option 1.
((By the way, Gwen's scar is significant. A Void scar is a strange phenomenon: it is infinitely deep, so when you look at it, you can see into the Void. Such a scar is a dead giveaway that the being was/is Swarm-corrupted. Knights who have fought the Swarm before will recognize it instantly. Knights who haven't fought the Swarm will just find it really creepy.))

"Scan complete."
Kyrto looked bored. "Report."
"Planet has hollow interior; iron content at 70%. Patterns suggest intelligent construction. Energy levels off the scale; no reading possible. Heavily inhabited. Brain scans suggest intelligent life is present. Exactly 100,000 Isorans detected."
Kyrto sat up, suddenly interested. "Only a hundred thousand Isorans?? Guarding a planet with an insane amount of power!? What luck!! Why, I'd wipe out the whole darn planet of Isora for that kind of power!"
He got on the intercom to address the million people on board the mothership. "Good news, folks! We've found ourselves a lightly-guarded planet with incredible power and wealth. Get ready to invade! Tell your mothers you'll be back in a day or two, 'cause this fight'll be a cakewalk."

I might start writing some of these too... But i need a character thats easier to control...
Kyrto is a very important character for the storyline and Tyrexo is just waiting to go on a rampage when someone lits a fire...
So this will be a character that i kinda control i hope it gets accepted.
Name: Serko
Faction: Morai (the Isorans thinks hes a Isoran tho)

Gor'kazam was disgusted. He was always told that the Knights were cruel, but he had no idea that they could be this cruel. Was Jari's research doing them any good? How could putting a Wolver head on a Knight solve the Morai's problems? They had been driven from Isora, which they once conquered with their own blood, sweat, and tears. They spent hundreds of thousands of lives to conquer Almire, only to be crushed by a genocidal Lord Vanaduke. And to top it off, the whole darn planet of Sol'Fork got torn apart and teleported to who-knows-where!! The whole darn planet, all 2 billion souls! How the heck was a Wolver-head-on-a-Knight gonna solve all their problems!?
The other guard was staring at him. He composed himself and returned to his guard position.

Serko is accepted, on condition that the Mordo deals only poison status (instead of both fire and poison). If you really want it to have two statuses, stun seems more appropriate for an assassin's gun, and is great story fodder. Imagine: "Serko shot Feron in the chest. Feron felt dizzy (that's your stun). The medical staff carted him away, but the poison had spread too far in his body (the benefit of poisoned ammo)."
((EDIT: @Azure-Orbit, to answer your question, the creatures of the Clockworks are not at a truce with the Spiral Knights. They are still just as hostile as ever, and a good deal smarter than they used to be.))

ok il start writing something for Serko's story right away

Serko heard his tytopod call, he read it then threw the tytopod away, he couldn't afford tracked...
He had a new mission, the skylark had entered morai borders but met heavy resistance and needed more technicans and soldiers, he was going to sneak into the ship place a red sun, then escape... shouldn't be too hard he thought, while he finished another mission... Assasinating biotech Hahn. He climbed up to the rooftops and waited for Hahn to come, he came and he got a new bullet in his chest, last time he survived so Serko poisoned his bullets, Serko put his recon cloak on and ran away while a ton of knights gathered around the to-be-dead Hahn.
Isorans are so stupid, he thought when he walked away.

((I know I'm not a moderator in this roleplay, but Svanto, don't you think you're going a little too fast?
You just killed an Isoran VIP in 1 paragraph, and already plan to nuke a Shipyard in the same paragraph :/. Try to put a little more Character Development. I know the Morai are bad guys but, that doesn't mean that they are completely cold-hearted and don't think of anything while they kill (as shown by Thinslayer's IC as Jari's guard.).
Also, isn't it a little bit overpowered to have a powerful nuke, up your sleeves? I'm pretty sure that having such a weapon that you can use at any time borders on the "No one will blow up Cradle rule"))

I removed the spoiler since its a spoiler but the nuke isnt that small. Its at the size of a big mineral. And about hahn and the skylark i have diffrent plans for them.
HAHN ISNT DEAD YET BTW

((New character introduced))
Name: Arkus
Faction: Spiral
Gender: Male
Appearance: cheery eyes, extra tall height, cobalt personal color
Arsenal: Almirian Crusader Helm, Almirian Crusader Armor w/ Twinkle Aura & Heavenly Guardian boots (not glowing), Crest of Almire, The Third Troika
Bio: Arkus was once a Guardian in the Spiral Order until he deserted them in sadness at the loss of his squad to dust zombies. Shortly afterwards, he succumbed to Dark Matter corruption, and was transformed into a Trojan. A squad of Champions was sent in to rescue him, but due to the extent of his corruption, they were forced to kill him. According to Arkus himself, an unknown entity revived him and purged him of his corruption. The Spiral Order doubts the truth of his story, but has no reason to question it.
((@Svanto, Azure-Orbit is right. I balked at the shooting of Hahn; he's an NPC, and I think NPCs should only die when the moderator (that's me) lets them. I'll let you continue with your current arc, but please avoid major game-changers. Hahn cannot die yet. If the Skylark is nuked from the inside, I will determine the damage it suffers, if any.))

((Who's to say that the Morai are evil? What if it was really the Spiral Order who were evil?))
((Also Thinslayer, what would you think of having Jari's guard Gor'kazam as a sort of shared character. I think we both know about his ideals (Doesn't like what Jari's doing, because it's evil and stuff), and it would be easier for you to "moderate" Jari if I make him do something he shouldn't "shifty look".))
((I think also, that I'll change Jari's ambition not to be trying to control minds since I'll make him able to do that anyway [see below], but instead to find the source of eternal life. I'll mail you the details ingame. I'm assuming your IGN is Thinslayer? Tell me if otherwise))
In other news, a new character app.
Name: Wirefury
Faction: None (Controlled by Jari)
Gender: Male? (Cyborg)
Appearance: Vacant Eyes, extra tall height, Green personal color
Arsenal: Lumber style fist pounding, A Fractured Mask of Seerus, a modified Demo Suit made to be coloured the same as the mask.
Bio: Wirefury, originally a Spiral Warden, was kidnapped by Morai troops serving under Jari. During the capturing, he was severely injured and lost an arm. Jari needed a bodyguard that would never defy him, and used his remarkable technical knowledge to create two prosthetic limbs, similar to those of Lumbers, and rewired the Warden's brain to always follow Jari's commands. Wirefury is currently in "sleep" mode, to be awakened when Jari needs to make a trip in dangerous terrain.

((Sure. Before we can both have any hope of effectively controlling the same character, we need to get down his character traits. Gor'kazam is a patriotic Morai through and through. He fought in the Isoran Revolution (on the Morai side, of course), escaped from the Almirian Incident (when Vanaduke went on a rampage), and was present when Sol'Fork was destroyed. He hates the Spiral Knights for "liberating" Isora and driving the Morai out, and despises Lord Vanaduke. When he finds out that the Core was responsible for the destruction of Sol'Fork (and its incorporation into the Clockworks), he must decide how he will react.
The Morai perceive him as a war hero. He was promoted to Commissar after his valiant efforts on Isora, and commands a well-trained squad of four, each of whom he loves dearly and treats like family.
He is one of the old-fashioned Morai who values the Chivalric Code, unlike his younger fellows. The torture and destruction of unarmed combatants disgusts him, but he is foremost a loyal servant of Kyrto, and will not act on his disgust unless he is allowed to.
Wirefury accepted.))
New character app
Faction: Morai
Name: Gor'kazam
Gender: Male
Appearance: sultry eyes, normal height, blue personal color
Arsenal: Mighty Triumvir Helm, Mighty Triumvir Armor, Mighty Triumvir Guard, Vile Striker, Heavy Slug, Irontech Bomb
((The Heavy Slug is the 4* equivalent of the Iron Slug.))

One of the guards shouted, "You there, halt or be destroyed!" The other guard shouted to the crowd, "Stop that woman!"
A few folks began the chase, but most of the knights were happy just to sit back and watch the spectacle. Gwen darted behind the only cover she could find at the moment, which was unfortunately a fruit stand. A guard shot at her, sending the stranger who owned it into conniption fits. She decided to have some mercy on him and darted back out of cover, ducking under the guards' potshots as she went. She ran into the Arcade, hid behind the wall, and elbowed the first guard who entered. The second one wised up to her plan and tried to aim around the corner. She grabbed him by the wrist, wrestled him out, and landed a precise kick that sent him sprawling to the ground. The few knights who gave chase stopped, looked at each other, and ran away.
Now alone and at peace, she found the Iron Lion Gate, selected Emberlight, and hit the down button.

Her trip to depth 23 was a quiet one. For unknown reasons, the monsters simply decided not to attack her, and the various traps were malfunctioning. She had a little time to catch up on her thoughts.
So, about that Trivoc.
Why did she choose him? Was it his odd choice in equipment, or his quiet demeanor? Perhaps it was both. The Miracle Hood and Silvermail accounted for all four damage types, while focusing on the Undead. His Cold Iron Carver and Silversix were also undead-hunting weapons. He built his armor to survive anything while making it optimal for the most profitable run in the Clockworks. The Irontech bomb was a unique choice, though. She couldn't help but wonder why he picked it. At any rate, it was a smart strategy.
His quiet demeanor indicated thoughtfulness, which Gwen valued highly in a knight. It was a rare trait, even among the best of knights. Even her closest friends weren't particularly thoughtful. Trivoc's caution was well-founded, and she appreciated his concern. She would have reason to doubt his competence for this mission if he wasn't concerned.
And this mission required a lot of competence.
As she sat against the UFSC gate, she heard an elevator drop. She strolled over to see who it was.
It was Trivoc, accompanied by a very talkative Cobalt knight. The knight was ranting about stuff he knew nothing about, like "light from the core" and "the coming darkness." Wait a sec. Not just anyone talked about such things nonstop. Gwen stepped closer.
"...you must believe me, good sir! The light is fading! We must act quickly, or it will die out altogether, and then the darkness will overtake us! It will corrupt us, consume us, rot our souls out. Find the light, and bring it back at all costs." He then noticed Gwen. "Look! There it is! See? See?" He pointed at her. Gwen looked at Trivoc and shrugged. The poor knight looked flustered. "But...but...she is the source of the light!"
Then she noticed the streaks beneath his eyes. They were growing, and his skin was turning a sickly green. Gwen quickly stepped up to him, gingerly touched his cheeks, and gently shushed him to sleep as she stared deep into his eyes. After about half a minute, the knight stopped his ranting, and eventually fell asleep there on the Terminal floor. The streaks vanished, and his color returned to him.
Trivoc seemed puzzled about what had happened.

Trivoc
He had always wondered what exactly a Void scar could do that turned a Knight insane. Now, he was about to find out.
While trekking through the depths of the Clockworks, Trivoc had found an unfortunate Knight in Cobalt armor, seemingly abandoned by his former squad. He was heavily wounded, looked sick, and appeared to be mumbling to himself. He felt pity for the poor soldier, and decided to bring him long for the trip.
At first, the Cobalt Knight was silent, staying back and letting Trivoc take care of most of the monsters while he shot occasionally from his Pepperbox. Soon enough, he started talking. "What's your name, kind sir?" He asked. "Trivoc" The 4-star Knight answered. "I must thank you for taking me along with you. I... don't know what I'd have done had I been left there alone. My name's Chappers, by the way." The Cobalt Knight said. "It's no trouble. No soldier left behind." Trivoc answered.
As they descended further however, their casual conversation however degraded quickly into Chappers rambling nonstop about "The coming Light" that will save them, and "The consuming Darkness" that will... Pierce their eyes out or something. Trivoc couldn't remember what he said exactly, he was too focused on trying to ignore Chappers.
As they reached the elevator that will take them to the terminal, Trivoc was on the verge of a mental breakdown himself. [ARGH! If I have to listen to him say the EXACT SAME thing he's been telling me for a dozen times, for one more minute, I'm going to go as insane as he is!] He thought agressively, but did his best to stop himself from hurting the Cobalt Knight in any way. Chappers was technically insane after all, and couldn't be held responsible for what he did. But Trivoc wasn't sure how much longer he'd be able to control himself.
---
Finally, the duo had reached the terminal. Trivoc was considering the advantages and disadvantages of being deaf, when he saw the White Rose girl from before.
Trivoc waved to her as the elevator stopped. Suddenly, Chappers changed his usual rant mid-way. "Look! There it is! See? See?" He pointed at her. The female Knight looked just shrugged at Trivoc. The poor knight looked flustered. "But...but...she is the source of the light!"
The White Rose Knight quickly stepped up to him, gingerly touched his cheeks, and gently shushed him to sleep as she stared into his eyes. Trivoc wasn't sure about what sh was trying to accomplish, let alone how she knew what to do with people like Chappers. After about half a minute, the knight stopped his ranting, and eventually fell asleep there on the Terminal floor.
Trivoc just stood there, confused for a moment, before deciding to speak. "Hmm... I've spent the whole trip here with him and couldn't get him to stop talking. How'd you know how to calm him down? And why'd he mistake you for "The Light" he wouldn't shut up about" He asked the female Knight, wanting more answers from her than ever.
((Decided to give the crazy guy a name since no one else did XD. Also, just so you know Thinslayer, I have never been in a Shadow Lair before. I know what it's like, and the kind of monster's you'll face there, but I haven't performed one in the game yet. So, I hope you'll forgive me if my writing while on the mission is a little lackluster...)

((I'm not familiar with most Shadow Lairs, either. I've only been through Ultimate Gloaming Wildwoods myself. It's filled mostly with undead, believe it or not. There are lots of new traps and challenges not seen in the original GWW. It's insanely hard if you don't know what you're doing, and punishes those not familiar with its layout - i.e., newcomers. I've heard that if the Shadow Key costs are evenly split between four party members, it can be a profitable run.
Once you beat the dual Rabid Snarbolaxes, let me know - there's a twist at the end. You'll know what it is if you've read the wiki.
Story-wise, I was toying with the idea of Trivoc being taken through a secret elevator. I haven't decided yet.))
Gwen puffed thoughtfully on her pipe. She made a neat little steam model of a knight from it. "Chappers is half right. I am pretty shiny." She chuckled and puffed out a steam scuttlebot. "He was partly infected. He was quite sane, believe it or not. He had merely become aware of things not previously visible to him, and he feared them." Her steam knight destroyed her steam scuttlebot. "The Spiral Order labels the Corrupted as insane because they do not understand them." I would know, she thought ruefully. "To answer your other question, I applied a little of my elemental prowess to heal him. It's not very hard; if you return alive from this mission, perhaps I can teach you. You seem like an intelligent and pure-hearted knight."
She then withdrew an energy canister, money bag, and material sack from her arsenal station. "The first order of business is to prepare you for this mission. You will need to upgrade all your equipment to 5* if you are to survive." She did a little crafting work and revealed a curious silver helmet. It looked like a Spiral Round Helm with mecha wings and a plume. "This is a Silverhelm. Most of your foes are undead and beast, all toxic, making this helmet a necessity." She then handed over the energy canister, money bag, and materials. "You have everything you need for the crafting, no more or less."
After Trivoc had finished, Gwen pulled out three maps. "These are the maps you'll need to navigate the Shadow Lairs. Memorize them." She held up the third map. "This one maps out what you knights call the 'Unknown Passage.' I know it, though, so I just call it the 'Core Passage.' Your minimap will not function there."
"You will find the Echo Stone in the Pool of Reflection."
"When you get there..." She clenched her teeth and whispered menacingly, "Do. Not. Touch. Anything. Else. Understand?"
Upon hearing Trivoc's response, she visibly relaxed. "I have a question for you now, Trivoc."
"Am I insane?" Trivoc replied, "No, I don't think so." He sighed and looked up at the ceiling. "But I don't entirely trust you, either. May I at least know your name, so I have something to refer to you by?"
Well, at least she could give him that. "I'm Gwenyvier, but you can call me 'Gwen.' As for assurance of my honesty...where did he go?..." She looked around for someone, and spotted a large knight in the far corner of the room, chatting merrily with the Basil. "Ah, there he is. Give me a moment." She walked up to the knight, said something to him while pointing at Trivoc, and both of them came over. "Trivoc? Meet my friend Arkus." Arkus saluted. He was a very big knight, about as big as Feron. He wore a fine Almirian Crusader set and carried an odd kind of Troika. "Pleasure to meet you, sir," he said in a deep, merry voice.
Arkus? For real?

Jari laughed maniacally as the wolver-knight stumbled into a wall, the head seemingly acting separately to the body. Satisfied with the results, he grabbed his Venomspewer off the wall. It was somewhat reminiscent of a flamethrower, except instead of spraying burning fuel, it spewed poisonous acid at any unfortunate target unlucky enough to stand in Jari’s path. Jari pulled the trigger, and acid erupted forth from the nozzle, coating the inhuman creature in green liquid. The wolver-knight howled wildly, trying to shake off the toxins but Jari kept firing the Venomspewer, chuckling every time the beast yelped in agony.
Tossing away the remains of the corpse with protective gloves, he began to plot his next move. He turned to James, his mute assistant. “What do you think I should do next?” Jari asked, “I’ve run out of ideas”. James didn’t respond. Shrunken heads rarely do. Jari sighed, “Don’t you ever say anything?”. The shrivelled up remains of another knight was one of Jari’s first experiments. “Fine,” he said, “I’ll just power up Wirefury instead”.
Wirefury, also known as Bob, was a large Cyborg dedicated to protecting Jari and crushing skulls. It also had an inbuilt computer, which Jari didn’t wire up to Bob’s mind in case he became self aware and retaliated. Jari pressed a few buttons into a vault door and put his thumb into a fingerprint scanner. The two doors slid away from each other revealing a metal behemoth. “Bob Smash!”, it said, as Jari couldn’t figure out how to program Wirefury to say any words with more than two syllables. “Come on Wirefury, we’re going” Jari growled. A ridiculous grin formed on Wirefury’s face, “Does Bob get cookie?” it asked childishly, as Jari also couldn’t figure out how to fix the personality software. “No, don’t be silly, and your name’s Wirefury, not Bob!” Jari snarled.
Jari walked down the bridge of the Morai battleship fuming, trying to ignore Wirefury’s giggling at the “pretty circles” in space. He was an embarrassment, but he would be vital for the journey ahead. The guards uncrossed their pikes to let him pass through the doorway.
Jari went through, to get an audience with the Captain of the Triumvirate.

"What is it now?" Kyrto was creating an invasion plan with his advisors, and didn't appreciate being interrupted. The guard said nervously, "It's Doctor Jari; he desires an audience with you." Kyrto growled. Realizing that he was scaring the poor guard, he smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "I'm sorry, son. You're just doing your duty. Show him in." The guard visibly relaxed, saluted, and opened the door.
Jari now showed his despicable face. For reasons beyond comprehension, High Command liked him, so Kyrto had to put up with him. That didn't mean he had to like him. "What do you want, traitor?"
He wouldn't honor the little twerp by calling him by his name.

Kyrto turned away from his advisors, turning towards Jari. "What do you want, traitor?", he asked. Jari bowed before him, before speaking. "I would like permission to land in Cradle," he said, "I feel that examining the Core would further our technology vastly. That is, unless you have something else for me to be doing except for torturin- I mean experimenting on prisoners".

Kyrto had to suppress the urge to bellow in rage at that monster. Composing himself, he turned his back on him and said quietly, "You will land when we do; no sooner, and certainly no later."
The guards shifted their feet nervously. The treacherous knight would never be able to understand just how much trouble he was in. A good commander never turned his back on a soldier when speaking to him unless he had done something dishonorable.
Dishonor was usually punished with a slow, painful death.
Kyrto clenched his teeth and said menacingly, "Now go make yourself useful. I do not need yet another monstrosity to dispose of. Do I make myself clear?"

Jari chuckled, seeing the expression on the guards' face. It seemed that he would have to find something else to do. "As you wish," Jari smirked, "Come on Wirefury, we're going". Wirefury's expression drooped. "But Bob want to look at pretty circles" he mumbled, as he trudged along behind Jari. Jari pondered, as he looked out of the spaceship towards Cradle. What could he do that was useful? He could think of a few things.
"So you're telling me," the confused berserker said, "that Kyrto asked me execute all the other scientists on board except you?". "Absolutely," Jari replied, "They were being extremely disobedient. He also wanted to forget the whole matter, so you shouldn't ask him about it. In fact, don't even tell him that I told you to. Okay?". The berserker examined Jari, as if he was hiding something under the Hazsuit. "If Kyrto said so," he decided.

Serko opened his cabin door with a slam, the two new room-mates looked at him with a surprised face. (O.o)
Excuse me, Serko said, he didn't see any reason to be rude when he was going to blow them up in a few days, but this was a trouble. He couldn't prepare the Red sun without them noticing he had a nuke under his bed. Well there might be a oppurtunity... Later.
Serko ate his dinner quickly, he needed to set some sort of trap for the two room-mates, when he came back to the cabin he saw one of the room-mates already being there.
He also saw the other room-mate's hail driver on the top of a desk, he took the hail driver and froze the head of the room-mate, and got ready to shoot the other room-mate when he entered, he shot him too then he moved them around so it would look like one of them shot the other and then the hail driver shot bounced back against him. Then he started to scream and ran out of the cabin saying that his room-mate got mad and shot his other room-mate!
Serko smiled when the medical staff carted them away, then he walked back to his cabin and started to deploy the bomb.

((Neither the Triune Order nor the Spiral Order is a "bad guy" in this story. Allow me to explain.
The homeworld of the Morai was Ilsola. Seeking to expand their borders, they colonized Isora and Sol'Fork, and for many centuries they all lived together in harmony. But the Morai culture became degenerate and corrupted, and began to oppress the colonies with ever-increasing taxes, regulations, and seizure of freedoms. At the time, the only bastion of liberty was Almire, which stood as a shining pillar of freedom against the increasing tyranny of the Morai government. The Morai created a deal with the devilish denizens of Sol'Fork: if they helped defeat Almire, they would be granted party rights and privileges, and the government would finally be free of the Almirian threat. They had nearly succeeded until Lord Vanaduke surprised them and crushed them with his newfound powers from Vog. The destruction of Almire was the last straw for the Isorans, and they revolted against their Morai oppressors, driving them out of Isora and back to Ilsola.
As if that weren't enough, a strange vortex appeared inside of Sol'Fork, tore the planet apart, and teleported it to an unknown region of space. All two billion souls living there were killed instantly, both devilite and Morai alike. Devastated by these major setbacks, the Morai government collapsed, descending the culture into anarchy and civil war. It continued for several decades until one of the warring factions, the Triumvirate, came out on top. It wasn't the most benevolent of governments, but it did its job and kept the peace. With the warring finally over, the Morai began to explore the galaxy once again, searching for new colonies to replace the ones they'd lost.
Cradle was just what they needed.))

((Did you get my ingame message? I sent it to the username of Thinslayer))

((If I remember correctly, I think I got a message about Serko from Svanto. I may have remembered wrong; do you mind sending it again?))
The Skylark lurched as she absorbed a small nuclear blast. Alarms sounded off, and technicians rushed to the scene. Ozlo immediately became suspicious; Hahn had just been shot with a poisoned bullet, and then a nuclear bomb went off a short time later.
They had a spy on board.
He made his way back to his bunk and covertly phoned Vaelyn.
"Vaelyn, do you copy?"
*click* "Yeah, I copy. Whaddya need, chief?"
"I need you to find the spy haunting our ship."
"...spy, sir?"
"Yes, a spy. Hahn was shot, and then a bomb went off a few minutes later."
"...yeah, that does sound like a spy to me. I'm on it."
"Thank you, ma'am."
"No prob." *click*
He went back to the bridge. There was a storm warning alert; they were headed straight into a irradiated solar wind. They'd better get that hole patched up before the storm hit, or there were going to be a heck of a lot of casualties.

Hahn woke up in the medical bay, he remember getting shot by a knight in ash tail coat and heavy demo helm, he remember that he felt some posion coming trough his body, so his antidote worked! Since he was very much alive now... Right? He looked around, im in the medical ward?
Good thing he had his anti-recon glasses when he got shot, now he know who the murder was! He called Feron someone with almond eyes, cyan color and a ash tail and heavy demo helm, there was only one in the register. And he was called Serko and was currently aboard the skylark, feron called ozlo immedietly.

Serko just got finished with his second nuke, when he heard a alarm.
Warning Morai spy aboard! Warning Morai spy aboard!
He looked out of his second cabinet and saw a monitor wich showed a picture of himself, a nearby knight draw his blaster but Serko was quicker and gave the knight a bullet to the head. He sat the nuke on 30 minutes and started to walk onwards to the escape pods, this wasn't gonna be easy...
He backpedaled through the corridor in the middle of a firefight when he saw the nearby escape pod start to close its doors, they where closing the escapepods! He jumped in the escapepod and pressed launch. He looked out of the escape pod window and saw a solar storm. He was in a big amount of trouble, shots where coming from the skylark but the solar wind was too fast, and the escapepod got slung out to space.
Hopefully they haven't disarmed the bomb yet. He looked at his clock, the bomb should have gone off by now! Then suddendly the escapepod made a turn and he hit his head and dozed off.
When he wake up he noticed the escapepod wasn't caught in the solar storm anymore and was loosing speed. He looked at the radar, a Morai ship was close to a nearby planet, he got the radio up and tryed to make contact.

Feron was helping the technicians repair the Skylark's outer shell when he got a message from Hahn. He floated back inside, entered the nearest airlock, and opened a channel.
"What did you find, Hahn?"
"I spotted a knight with almond eyes, cyan color, ash tail coat, and heavy demo helm just before he shot me."
"Was he the-"
"Yes, he was the spy. That's why I called you up. What are you doing about it?"
"Well, I-"
"Never mind. Vaelyn just texted me about it. Thanks Feron!"
"You're wel-"
*click* *static*
"-come."
At least Hahn's mind was still functioning at top speed. Feron called up Ozlo and told him the news.
"I have Hahn's description of the assassin."
"Oh?"
"Yes sir. Almond, cyan, ash tail, heavy demo. Seen him?"
"Popular combination. Is he in the register?"
Feron ran a check. Only one match, named Serko. "Yes, sir. There's only one."
"Good. Keep an eye on him, and inform Vaelyn. I have her on the job."
"Yes Captain."
*click*
Feron returned outside to continue work on the protective shell.

The girl in the White Rose set puffed on her pipe before answering casually.
Trivoc felt, a bit confused, and a little bit flattered at the same time. He wasn't sure how the female Knight knew Chappers by name, but he decided to go along with it. This day was already full of surprises.
"Understood." Trivoc replied as he approached the alchemy station. While he crafted his Radiant Silvermail, Cold Iron Vanquisher, Argent Peacemaker, and Irontech Destroyer, he thought about what he was doing. [This is just nuts. What am I even doing here? I should be in Haven, preparing for the invasion, not down here doing a favor for someone I don't even know... Have I already gone insane?] Trivoc thought to himself.
After Trivoc had finished and returned, the girl pilled out three maps. "These are the maps you'll need to navigate the Shadow Lairs. Memorize them." She held up the third map. "This one maps out what you knights call the 'Unknown Passage.' I know it, though, so I just call it the 'Core Passage.' Your minimap will not function there."
Trivoc nodded. He scanned the maps, and took pictures using the helmet's reconnaissance functions. "Taking pictures will make it simpler than trying to memorize them because I can bring them up at any time. So I hope you don't mind." He told her.
"You will find the Echo Stone in the Pool of Reflection. When you get there..." She continued, but trailed off. She then clenched her teeth and whispered menacingly, "Do. Not. Touch. Anything. Else. Understand?"
"Yes ma'am." Trivoc answered.
Upon hearing his response, she seemed to relax. "I have a question for you now, Trivoc. Am I insane?"
Trivoc had half a mind to tell her that he thought she was insane, and that this whole thing was insane. But, he held back from saying so, and decided to ponder more on the question. [The way she talked and act doesn't suggest insanity. I do have reason to question the mission however, since I don't understand how getting an Echo Stone from the Swarm-infected copy of Firestorm Citadel benefits us in any way. Many Knights have gone through the Shadow Lairs before, and they've all returned with Echo Stones. I don't understand why she needs one in particular...] Finally, he answered. "No, I don't"
He sighed before continuing. "But I don't entirely trust you either." [And I hope I'm not making a mistake by trusting you now...] He thought silently. He paused for a moment before asking the next question. "May I at least know your name? So I have something to refer to you by." He asked, and waited for her response.
