Divine & Sinister Demo Set with artwork

Are you a bomber that is sick of getting killed by skolver strikers with toothpicks in lockdown? Are you sick of using the only sets like Volcanic demo, Mad bomber, and Mercurial demo, yes there are good sets but there one thing they don't have Piercing and Shadow. Yeah the kat hiss hat is shadow but is only a helm there's no armor version of it, Here I being you Divine demo and Sinister demo Set!

The reason I made this because I know demo are the least used type of class's in lockdown 2nd being gunners and 1st being swordsmen. Yes there are threads like this but this is my opinion, you also may have saw the set ideas in Njthug's Spiral Knights Anniversary Art Contest.

Here's are the stats of the two sets.

The Divine Demo is pretty much the skolvers of the demo's it has piercing and normal defense of a Justifier and has stun resist like the Justifier it will have Bomb CTR:med and maybe Bomb damage bonus:low if you think it CTR:med and Damage:low combo is OP I'll let you guys decide or keep it CTR:med

Helm info: A demo helm that was made by the gods for those who like to blow stuff up.
Armor info: A demo armor that was made by the gods for those who like to blow stuff up, It also very warm in the point you want to sleep in it.

The Sinister Demo is the shadow version of the Divine Demo it has shadow and normal defense of the Shadowsun and has poison resist like of the Shadowsun (Poison resist is useless I know) or put curse resist instead of poison. It will have Bomb Damage Bonus:Med and maybe Bomb CTR:low like the divine demo I'll let you guys decide on the CTR:low for this and the Damage:low on divine demo. Or just keep it damage bonus:med.

Helm info: A sinister helm for those who are truly twisted in the point they will blow everything up that stands in your way.
Armor info: A sinister armor for those who are truly twisted in the point they will blow everything up that stands in your way.

These are actually pretty reasonable...

Only problem being that this makes... 6 different Demo lines?

Anyhow, I support the idea of getting different defense types for bombers (though a bomber I am not)
Honestly, I think it'd be more reasonable to recast Bombastic as Pierce... aaand that's all I can say because Mercurial and Volcanic both fit under the elemental theme...

+1 for the thoughts and art!

The number of demo sets isn't the problem. The problem is that in LD, bombs are innately underpowered. Adding more sets won't change them.

I would argue that these are really helpful in Clockworks (remember, the MAJORITY of the game is not LD)

I think bombers should have equal rights too!

Your right about the Bombastic-to-Piercing idea, and also my brother, Pikachuracer, gave me an idea that may balance the Divine & Bombastic (and Volcanic with Mercurial):

1) Bombastic would be the same stats, but replace it's elemental defense with piercing. Then the divine will gain more piercing to that of Bombastic's Normal Defense while dropping the divine's armor's normal defense to that of the bombastic's Elemental (piercing) Defense.

2) The Mercurial would have improved Elemental Defense to that of the Volcanic's Normal Defense, while dropping the Normal Defense to that of Volcanic's Elemental Defense. The Volcanic will keep it's original stats.

Simply put, Making the Mercurial a Elemental-bias elemental armor and Volcanic a Normal-bias elemental armor, as well as changing the Bombastic's elemental for piercing (making for a Normal-bias Piercing armor, and switching my proposed Divine's Piercing and Normal Defenses (making a Piercing-bias Piercing armor) . This would balance out the variety of bomber gears and allow for more mix-and-match possibilities.

Everyone can ignore this idea if they wish and focus on the main topic above.

When you types 9+ normal defence I'll assume you mean 7+. 7+ is what the pictures show and what all the other class lines have going for them. They're all 7 normal, 6 special. The first bar doesn't count. I don't know how you somehow added another one.

Similar thing with statuses. When you write 3+ I'll assume you mean either 2+ bars or 4+ low UVs. With that cleared up...

Yes, since it'd be blatantly more bonuses than Volcanic Demo this'd be overpowerd. We don't need more redundant bomber gear. That's not the only problem, either. Let's look at your latest post:

So all in all, Divine would end up with:
6+ normal
7+ piercing
4+ stun
2+ Bomb CTR
maybe even 1+ Bomb Damage

Royal Jelly, on the other hand:
6+ nomal
8+ piercing
4+ stun

This is not balanced. The extra special defence on the defensive armours are supposed to be more useful towards their intended targets, as Jelly would keep you safer from piercing bullets than, say, Justifier and Skolver would. Here you have a class armour almost as defensive as Royal Jelly, with the same resist, and a medium bonus to boost. Kat Hiss hood gets away with 6+ normal and 8+ shadow because it has negative resists to curse, and more importantly shock. In addition, its bonuses are spread out over damage and CTR rather than all stacked on the same thing. I'm not sure yet whether that's supposed to be an advantage or not.

I updated some of the mistakes on the main topic thanks for putting that out.

also that last post was my bro's idea not mine, And I agree that it will make the jelly set more useless and the jelly set is mainly for piercing but that was just a random idea that came in my bro's mind the main part of this thread is about my Divine & Sinister Demo Set idea.

And the Divine damage bonus:low and the Sinister CTR:low is just optional it can be just CTR:med for Divine Demo and Damage Bonus:med for Sinister Demo

Could we customize them further instead of recolors? Mad bomber has a mohawk....
Dunno, some tiny wings, horns, spikes, face covered, etc.

I was going to make the Divine and Sinister have there own style but I forgot to put some and I'm too lazy to change it up. I agree that they look like recolors and I hate recolors. >_<

It will be like this.

Divine

Armor: It will have the same aura that you see on the skolver coat.
Helm: A halo like the one on the divine hood or some special design on the helm.

Sinister

Armor: Some shadowy aura like on the snarbolax boss.
Helm: maybe some horns like you see on the dread skully or a spike mohawk.

Maybe I should ask someone on deviantART to make new artwork for the two sets. :P

Divine items should have shadow resist and not piercing resist. it makes no sense. If anything, you swapped the stats around.

I was thinking to implement ASI on bombs for fuse time. Maybe use those bonuses for Divine and Sinister?

We don't need, and we shouldn't make more copies of volcanic with different defenses. Bombastic is already pretty much analogous to Skolver, bar the defense type, and Mad bomber uses materials linked to shadow defense in other sets. If you changed Bombastic to piercing, and Mad to shadow, then you could still cover all the damage types while having to be smart about which set you chose.

Just slapping on more copies of volcanic would let people mindlessly chose a set depending on the damage type, and not worry at all about what other changes they'd have to make to fit the set.

@Breaker-Xd, In the OP, it is explicitly stated that bombers are underpowered in lockdown because they don't have piercing or shadow defense, and that that is the reason the OP created this idea.

Slapping on more copies of volcanic isn't equal rights. It's not even a step in the right direction. Changing the existing defense types is.

@Verodius, I mocked up something similar a while ago, where I used the Skelly part of the Authentic Phantom Mask as a visor sort of thing, and then taking the shoulder pad from Almirian Crusader and fitting it in place. I was planning on using it for Tev's but I could only have one entry per category.

YES bombers deserve more armors, I am a bomber myself, and have this problem of bad defense aswell

Just want to add in a note about offensive armors and their stat bars.

All class specific offensive armors (with the sole exception of Mad Demo) have identical normal bar stats. Don't muck with this unless you're boosting offensive power further like Mad Demo has.
