That's interesting. They're either going to adapt to whatever damage type enemy is in the level and dish out that damage type or there's going to be multiple versions, each with their own damage type.

Though as a gunslinger, I'm really worried that I'm going to have to resort to using the OPolaris just to deal with these guys... I mean look at those crowds. It's a bomber's wet dream and a gunner's worst nightmare.

EDIT: Oh and no Battle Sprites in those pictures meaning this is probably coming sooner rather than later... hopefully... maybe...... a very slight chance...........

I'm thinking it's two floors of danger mission.

@Zopyros-Il

They're clearly beasts. Why would you use Polaris of all things on them?

Zeddy! tell me, am I right or wrong in saying that you were one of (if not THE) first to say it could be an Easter event/introduction of this enemy through Easter etc? If so, then Zopyros, it'll be soon! :D

I did air the idea pretty early, but I'm sure a lot of people thought the same thing five seconds after seeing them announced.

@Zeddy
Well because they may not truly be beasts? Like Juances said, there's clearly a shadow attack coming from one and pierce from another. If they're still typed as beasts at that point, things may get a little difficult...

More speculation on my part, but looking at the sheer numbers of them, they probably don't drop anything. They may not even have a monster family type either, making them more akin to Shankles and Wisps, which would also fit in with them not having one set damage type or dropping anything.

And if they're only going to be in one Danger Mission, that'll just be another thing on my growing list of disappointments...

BOOT!

my thoughts:

They are no types, who either depending on status, or level, deal either Ele,shadow or pierce.

crap

after getting to half a post, I realized that those are brand new levels. great. we needed those. also, nice couple, beast + gremlin.
notice: the guy in the pic always uses an honor blade (normal) to give no clue, but in the 2 pic with 2 guys, the second guy has a polaris and a combuster. ergo, unless he is mad, they are weak to elemental. at least, if they are dealing shadow damage.
also, the 3 pictures with bushes have an area in common, so the bunnies probably will have that as introduction /natural habit.

now we only miss the tort-
*crush*
*Roamulus twin in the back, ready to fire laser*
oh crap.

From what I can tell, Dust Bunnies can be any element (or deal damage of any element) depending on the environment. Now this is gonna be interesting...

Lets hope these are new

Lets hope these are new clockwork levels. Could be a new danger mission, as Zeddy said. I'm fine with that, as long as these bunnies appear elsewhere also, like in the clockworks. Also, I highly doubt they are an Easter event from what I can tell.

I just thought of the worst possible thing the levels could be! What if they're a new Expansion Mission? :D
I mean there's Gremlins and Herex of the Crimson Order is known for making biological abominations (see Toxilargo), so maybe this will be new content that most of us will never play! Yay!!1!1

OK. That's enough cynicism from me for today. I just hope they release the update soon.

Oh and @Lanieu
I don't think the 'buns would fit in at FSC, but I don't see why OOO couldn't reduce the ridiculous amount of zoms in the level and add in a few Almirian Crusaders from the Danger Mission. Would help to curb the obscene payout from the level and make things more interesting at the same time.

Hm

- They may be an event mob.
- They may be like the "trap" mobs, Shackles and Wisps.
- They may be actual new mobs, but only the "original" ones may give Crowns/Heat.

Cautious optimism, until we actually playtest them. Doubt it make me play the game like before, but I guess it is something?

Sassssyyyyyyyyy!! I am hoping

Sassssyyyyyyyyy!! I am hoping this won't give me slow frames, these new levels, and that those monsters will be a good challenge for me! I could really use a challenge; besides C42, nothing is hard for me anymore.

I hope that those little furry balls bring fear into my eyes, like Devilites. I hope they aren't going to be like Wolvers, because that will be a great disappointment.

I think

they will be a pain in the back for sword-users. as I can see, they attack from a certain distance, so you need timing to shield, not to attack. also, depending of what spawning points they have, they could actually be a pain in the back for all pulsar users. if they are, OOO did a very nice job.
is that emotion scanner online? I need to see the devs emotional state when they see the post. destroyed on the roarmulus attack? great, now I'll have to build another one. oh, is this microphone still on?

An idea of what we might expect from the upcoming update.

According to the preview screenshots, Dust Bunnies apparently can bite with a piercing attack just like a Wolver can. And they have some sort of shadow attack, which may be different from the bite. Perhaps that might be the spliting ability, or maybe its a particle spitting attack. We also know from the screenshots that there are Default, Freeze, and Poison variants. I had some ideas of what these names may be:

Default: Dust Bunny.

Freeze: Frost Bunny.

Poison: Plague Bunny.

If you also notice, there habitat is that of a mechanical-plain like combination, with the Bush's roots being more metallic, and that there are gremlins in these levels. Maybe the bunnies were created by Gremlins?

That's a buff only if they're on every level. :B
And if that's the case, it's a nerf to gunners since we can only take down single targets unless we use Pulsars or Alchemers...

...or Autoguns or Catalyzers. Pretty much the only single-target guns are Magnus, Blaster and Antigua. That's being hopeful and assuming they don't go down in two blaster shots.

@Yellow-Lord:

"Maybe the bunnies were created by Gremlins?"

I think a much more likely scenario is that the gremlins are trying to build among the beasts, and this forces the bunnies to come out and rebel. We're just caught in the crossfire while trying to pass through.

@Zeddy
Catlyzers take time to set up though, something I doubt these guys'll give you. And considering how these guys group together hitting the same one that you set the charge on would be a longshot. I have enough trouble pegging the same enemy if they're dancing around each other in a group of five. Hitting the same one in a group of ten like these guys would be a miracle.

I would've said the Autoguns, but since they root you in one place and don't provide a lot of knockback unless you charge it... which involves moving slow and standing still more with a group of ravenous dustballs trying to tear you apart. It wouldn't be my first choice to fight these guys, damage type effective or not.

I hope they don't have low health. If they do have stupid low health, then why did they even bother bringing them into the game if they'll only be on screen for all of two seconds before getting blown to oblivion.
