Having used dark matter bomb for many RJP runs i have found the bomb to be rather wonky and (with my current skills with them) not as useful as other styles of bombs. my main problem with them is the shards not spawning inside of an enemy. In order to make these bombs more effective i think changes should be made on how they function up close.

Rather than the bomb going off and the shards instantly appearing on the ground in the pattern i think they should shoot out and land (in the same pattern) and if a enemy were to stop the shard from completing it's journey the enemy will get a shard stuck in them. This shard will do two damage and the stuck shard will blow up with the others. This would make it so large enemy's like the royal jelly could step on a shard bomb and get all of them stuck in him doing large amounts of damage instead of the blast from the main one and nothing else. Still vs the royal jelly it will not outclass the DR or pepper box but let you be able to effectively kill it with "the bane of jellys everywhere".

Along with changing how the shards get into their pattern and removing the hit counter (witch can bug out and make the bomb deal no damage) they also should be able to bonce off walls this way a bomber has a way the escape for being pined to some extent. i hope these changes to the shard bomb are added but keep the bomb balanced and maybe even make it more "bomb like" if in the end these shards are a little stronger than other bomb than i believe that us bombers do derive something power full after the old shards being beat into the ground with the nerf stick and the DR getting a bit of a smack too.

I made a post suggesting this at one point. Somebody (I think Zeddy) pointed out how OOO doesn't know how to make shards stop in front of walls, much less monsters. If they were willing to change it, (which they aren't) and they could actually do it, (which they can't), then I would be all for it. As for the other suggestions, have you visited Node 58425? Admins locked it for being too logical.

I have seen so many fix shards and I think this fits the boot. So to speak. Yes I did necro sorry, but the first time I sent it to the graveyard in a manor of hours so I don't think I gave it a fair chance. (besides my threads don't get any attention anyway so it will be out of sight soon.)

But catalyzers stick on enemies why not maw bomb? alchermers bounce off walls why not maw bomb? :,c (I am not a coder but they SEEM similar enough to me)

Shard bombs are worthless now, They're tricky to use and even if you use them right they still won't be as good as the Nitro or the Dark briar, and those are so easy to use. OOO won't do crap because they're too busy making extra costumes that vananerds can hope to farm enough FSC runs to buy it from the AC

I would love to see Shard Bombs be fairly updated. I'm a big supporter of bombs getting their own update in the first place (let's not forget even before the gunner update there was alot less equipment for bombers than gunners or sword-users), especially the Shard lines (since they are pretty much the worst weapons in the game at the moment, but have alot of potential and really are dazzling to see. Your simple ideas would be nice, in my opinion.

I would be cool if when the bombs attached, they would explode where the monsters moved with the bomb and if when the explode, they exploded more like a geyser then a simple explosion. Like exploding like an erupting volcano that does small damage over time.

Contrary to popular belief, the shard bombs are fine on damage until you count in the invincitinks. In fact, without any charge time reduction added shard bombs are on the whole more damaging than dark briar barrage, nitronome, everything that isn't dark retribution. It just isn't very practical to use them in that fashion because having no charge time reduction is painful and frankly kind of stupid.

It is my opinion that the best way to fix all bombs in general cleanly would be to-
1. Remove or add time to the invincitinks on shard bombs
2. Make bombs charge faster in general, with charge time reduction doing a bit less
3. Raise the damage on all bombs so that they are balanced with dark retribution as the "standard DPS bomb", possibly through the ctr buff

That way we wouldn't end up with dark retribution killing the competition (literally, that was why Seerus made it..), all bombs would be relevant and bombing towards the start of the game before bomb CTR perks become readily available would be much more feasible.
