If the developers are planning to do this, I apologise in advance but according to some people on the preview server, there is no such option.

The development team made this mistake once with the shard bombs. It's not that people hate the new shard bombs, I for one enjoy using them profusely. What they simply refused or were ignorant to was to have both the old and the new. Don't get me started on the "too gun-like" aspect either.

Some people, like the new GUI. Others, prefer the old one. Why does everything have to be a 'one or the other' deal? I'm sure there's still coding for the old GUI locked up somewhere in the Three Rings Archives. The real question is, WHY NOT BOTH!

Off-topic? You're using an unfounded argument

I don't see where Nick said that they were too gun-like. He did say that the bomb had a function resembling a gun, but he never said that it was the cause of the change.

"...they never said it was too gunlike. They specifically said it was "not bomblike enough". Players just assumed they meant that it was the "gun" aspect, but considering the fact that we have several "mixed" weapons and they went on to release DR which is the farthest thing one can imagine from a bomb, it leads to the conclusion that the problem wasn't in the range aspect. The problem was in the fact that a bomb, that's designed for aoe and group kills, was being used primarily to spike ohko targets. Experienced bombers didn't use RSS to clear crowds as much as they just used it to spike targets dead in an instant. It was a lot faster, easier and safer.
Which is explicitly not bomb-like...

Sorry about the multiple edits to my post. I do that a lot.

I hope we will be able to switch between the old and the new UI.
I like this current Interface, I like its simplicity.

Thing is if they ever want to add new options/buttons, they'd have to do twice the work
(since the game started they added social hub, missions, krogmo, loadouts)

above arguments are irrelevant, RSS was changed and people wanted the option of both. Doesn't matter how it was changed.

About the original title.

I will most likely use the new interface 24/7, but I'm signing this so I don't have to hear complaints from the rest of the community about it.

I love the current design. Especially the Gears behind the minimap.
Though clearly a WIP, the new vial and hp bar design seem to clash with the current SK art style.
It doesn't match the current art style of material or equipment icons anymore (unless those are getting an art update as well)

The use of that neutral silver/grey colour in the hp bar is also confusing at first.
Contrary to its intended visual feedback, the grey part of the bar looks to indicates the amount of hp currently missing or lost.
Anyone who has played enough video games will know what I'm talking about.

The inclusion of hp bars and the weakness indicator is a nice addition to make the game even more accessible to people.
The amount of hp bars that may appear during hectic fights (especially with large crowds and haze bombs such as AoA) may be overwhelming to certain people.
Though I'm sure that OOO will leave those mini hp bars as a toggle option in the menu-

A WIP is still a WIP.
Until I get a chance to mess around with the finished product, my preference is for the current UI

my 2 cents

Let's wait for the actual update and see it for yourself before wanting it back.

When the 3d model came in I asked for a "take off option" and it was never patched

There it is!

I might say "yes I want a rollback button" or I might say "it's not needed since you can mod it"

(yes you can mod it, Nick said so. But to what extend? that IDK)

Did you even read what I was saying? I said I wanted the option to change it back. No matter how shiny or polished the new GUI is, there will always be people who prefer the old one.

@ Unstable

Maybe the new UI will improve your performance? Maybe that shiny new look will grow on you...

You don't know, it's all assumption and like Nick said, the UI will be customizable... If you want the old UI that isn't customizable and that "could" be more laggy then I don't know why you would want it

Wait before they implement it before requesting this. And it might not be possible to revert back to the old UI for any specific reasons that we might understand once we test the new UI, we don't know.

You don't know

You are saying you don't want something you don't know... well stay inside your cave and don't search for "new" and "shiny" stuff I guess...

Edit: And YOU did you even read my comment? All I'm saying is that the UI isn't implemented yet and you might like it and it might not be possible to revert back... Battle Sprites are coming, new mobs are coming, maybe new gear is coming? We don't know where OOO is going and what the UI changes will have on future updates...

@Shamanala

As much as I totally respect your point of view and I find it sensible and fair, you can't say we haven't see new UI yet. Yes, WIP is WIP, but the general style has been determined. Something you call shiny some may call cheap.

I like changes, and I like new things. Really. But art style is just something fundamental for a video game. It's like removing chibi style of characters. For me changing UI art style is like changing SK soundtrack. The game would never be the same without "retro-arcade" compositions by Harry Mack. The new soundtrack may have been "new" and "shiny" but still I would miss the one we have atm.

That said, even though I'm not really into new UI, I doubt that idea of two swappable UIs is a good one (for reasons mentioned by Little-Juances in post #7).

Of course I've already made a back-up of all UI art and I'm gonna replace new PNG with old ones when they eventually arrive at my disk. Yes it is somewhat against ToS but you don't have a proof I'm doing it ;-)

Come ON OOO, we all know you guys can do it so just PLEASE give us a choice. I really love this game, but the new UI is just depressing me :/

I'll gladly sign this.

I find the new UI intrusive and more confusing than the old one (And the patch notes say that it's supposed to be SIMPLER). So unless OOO plans on fixing this new UI a bit (make the knight portrait smaller and add the Energy and Crown amount on something that doesn't require us to open a menu, for starters), I'd rather have the possibility to change between the new and old UIs.

It's not that I don't like change, I just don't like changes that mess up what was working well :I

Also:

@Shamanala

"Maybe the new UI will improve your performance? Maybe that shiny new look will grow on you..."

Haha, no. The new UI actually worsened my performance. And I have a friend that had his computer overheating because of it too. And the new shiny look is a bit off. Probably a bit too shiny, actually.

I for one, hate the new interface. In a game which I used to be able to play lag-free, it makes my framerate drop to about 10% of what I used to have. The new interface also looks incomplete. For example, the shield bar has no outline on it. Also, I can't just say how many bloody crowns I can spend without having to open my inventory. I am sure there are those who enjoy the new one, but I prefer the old.
