Only people who has problems about it complains and makes the threads.
I have asked my friends and guild mates and everyone seems pretty happy about it. In fact they love the new Update.

Guys, just get used to it. It might not be the best but we can adjust easily. Respect the Work they've put into it. And I'm happy as long as they're updating this game at least.

But could have been better if the event was a new one instead of using last years.
It'll make all the item lose it's rarity. But it's alright. At least I have something to do in SK for a whole rather than standing in AH and doing countless of VANA ^_^

From my point of view

"Updating". People want more major content then a new UI. And yes we acknowledge that OOO puts work into these, but it would be nice if we got some major content updates.

In the approx. three years this game has been in beta/released we've only gotten four new bosses that have to do with a plot. One was for newer people, another was DLC, admittedly the roar twins and the snarbolax were nice additions, we could use some more content. I don't really count SL's because they're just reskins of other bosses, while it may have introduced the swarm it's been more of an add on then an actual addition. All I'm saying is that OOO might want to switch gears.

EDIT: Not to mention the UI's as glitchy as a pre-beta game

You'd have noticed, if you could read, that the staff are in full force trying to keep the negative feedback in one thread.

I don't know how many yappity guildmates you have but an overwhelming number here in the forums, and this is no exaggeration, don't exactly enjoy this new UI, myself included.

I do like the new look but it's just not user-friendly.

Was gonna make a new thread, but this one seems good...

Them random trade requests don't explode in my face anymore, I can quickly pick out people I know in a crowd, and I know when it's worth using weaker attacks to quickly finish enemies off.

I'm sure we'll get used to the buttons being moved around, once we've used them for more than one day.

Edit: I log on, and there's a NEW update fixing a bunch of problems. Yay!

Shard bombs actually affected us, and still does. This lead to some distruss over OOO, which widened, hence the reactions.

If you need me, I'm going to kill some things.

We do have a right to complain.

Really, there is a lack of content, and balencing, that makes us mad.

Considering that content dried up, we would be mad.

Changing everything, to the point we hav trouble with it, we would be mad.

If we put money into this game, and now regret it due to the way they've treated the game, Yes we would be mad.

If you think about it, this stuff is slowly building up.

The initial rage is gone, bu distrust rises.

OCH,Beta things, Balencing, Shards, the UI, Nerfs, no arcade content, ect,

It's like a timebomb.

I'm a longer term player and i know whats it like everytime an update comes out. Disappointment from players but we all get over it after we get used to it and we use the good terms of the update. This happens everytime with updates and Devs actually ignore it and then players get over it. So please calm down a bit peeps.

Doesnt even exist in any country in the world including developed ones. So the cops can roll up and whatever you say is not valid because you cannot have the frredom to speak. I think it's fair to say that the community is fairly split on the new UI. On one hand are the semi-tasteless people that like it for what it is, and on the other are the lovely people that find some fault with it. The new functionality is certainly nice, but it messes up in 2 large ways-

1. It's mostly an advertising gimmick. It hides your energy and crowns, and puts the game out there as if it is something that it isn't, and it goes more towards the "new direction of the game" if you will, than the old one that many players loved.

2. It goes against the way the old UI looked completely, and is said by many to even look "trashy" and "stereotypical of MMOs". Whether you agree to it or not is up to you, but I would have to agree to some extent- go google "MMO UI" and you'll see stuffs.

Oh, and no law is concrete. There are laws out there that do things, but they don't exactly matter- if you break them and don't get caught nothing happens. Like with people speeding in my hometown, everyone did it, even if it was "illegal" so whether you say bad things or not only matters if you actually manage to get in trouble for it. Likewise, OOO can just delete anything they want for fun, or ban you for fun, or anything like that.

Provided that you're not a sociopath, you should do fine with the law.

1/2 of this Community (like me ^^) are going like "OMG-ZE-NEW-UI-IS-AWWWESOME", and the other half is like "Screw this, I'm leaving"
Lets stop talking about "rights of speech" on the forums for now....and focus on the UI.

First of all, for all of you don't-likers (hate is such a strong word >.>) out there. If you hate the UI, you don't have to be like "Omg, its so bad, that I don't even want to play anymore". Seriously, so you are telling me, that the only reason you play the game is to spend 24 hours a day, staring at the UI?
A little (or in this case, big) chance in the LOOKS of something you will barely notice when you are beating the living papaya out of monsters won't kill you. Sure, its kind of hard to "get used to it", but like I mentioned earlier, you don't have to go berserk over it.........

Do remember that a lot of time and effort was put into this............

Secondly, I understand quite a few of you hate the new UI. But simply saying "it sucks, I'm leaving" isn't going to improve anything. At the very least, give some constructive feedback, NICELY. Don't go "Hey, OOO, I don't like your new UI, it sucks, I'm leaving, full stop"

Last but not least, lets all refrain from using any harsh language, lets stop talking about human rights. On this forum, we are all equal ^^

P.S You can't see your crowns, so what?

I like the macaroni art UI. It may be messy but the GM's put a lot of effort into it and I'm proud(Nah, seriously though. The organization is terrible, but the art style is perfect.) Also, when I logged in I spent 10 minutes trying to find the button that says "Return to Haven" T-T . . .

A community gathered in this game because of a nostalgic 8bits feeling that got a taste of childhood for many of us, a minimalist, oldschool yet well rounded design. They just destroyed it with the latest patch !

I personally don't want to "get used to it" if this is something that I utterly dislike I DO NOT WANT TO PLAY IT ANYMORE !
Do I have to remember you that the UI is a part of the game we need every time we play ?!

Seriously I don't mind the time & efforts that a developer put in this instead of creating actual new content like new T3 boss or the incoming Sprites, new weapons ...

I don't understand why they lock the vitapods if there are 3 more annoying tabs to open accidentally in each corner, the vanity of the notice board of the head of the player you are playing (inception much?), ruining an incredible art-style by choosing realistic vials, taking the health bar the farthest of the eyes when it was good down in the middle ... so much irrational things I can not figure out all of them !
(and many have made better than me for this just check the testing feedback forum)

To finish, you don't understand what is taking part of a community you self centered fruit ! Leaving is all we can do to express our dissatisfaction. Only one day of test server for it ? Come on ! I think this total mess could have been avoided by taking the time to really test it and wait for the community's general opinion to reach out. From now on if I play again it's not to play the same beta version of the game that is on the test server...

How many things has OOO added to the game in the last year or two? Things that made the game better? NONE. Im not counting nerfes, stupid useless costumes, missions, cakes?!?!?!?!?! etc.. Every little single thing they add, makes the game a bit worse. And it just went over the top.

Why not make servers better? We are in 2013 FFS. Why is gettin into LD or BN so frekin stupid and why do I have to wait like a moron when there is clearly enough people to start a match? Maybe PvP looby? Nah, we don't need that. Why can't we click on links or copy them? YOU SEND ME AN EMAIL, OOO, TELLIN ME ABOUT THE NEW UPDATE.. YOU GAVE ME A LINK TO THE PREVIEW VERSION. BUT I HAD TO FREAKIN RETYPE IT?! (and LOL, one of them pop out the site saying the post couldn't be found,LOL) SERIOUSLY?! But no, lets destroy the game even more, lets make it look ugly. HOORAAAAAAY!!!

1. Why do i have to look at my face all the time? So i can't forget what knight im using? Maybe so i don't forget what helm im using? YEEEEEES, IM A [silly person].

2. Why making a shield bar? Shield changes colour.. that is in the game for a reason. YEEEEEES, IM A [silly person], i need that.

3. Why did you change the player name's colours? WHY?! It was perfect before, now it's ugly as hell. Even if you are blind.

4. Menu look is something that i would except that a 10 year old kid would come up with. Every singe person who uses photoshop would die of laughter looking at this. Fact. Just looking at some Fan Art pictures, you could just ask them to make you a new design, i bet it would look 100x better. Beacuse seriously, this looks disgusting.

5. Layout, icons, everything was perfect before.. It resembled Clockworks, and everything was "close" to hand.. but hey, if it works, let's make it not work. Yea, we should do that. CAUSE OUR PLAYERS ARE A [silly people], YEAAAAAAAAAAA.

But hey, what the hell.. lets copy another's MMO game UI, and add a twist to it. OOO twist, aka, lets make [crap] out of gold. That has been the story of this game so far, well, i guess now it really started to smell..

And yes, many players will stop playing this game just cause of the new UI. As i've said, it has gone over the top. But hey, if you like being a puppy for OOO, enjoy it. If you like being treated like a [silly person] from OOO, enjoy it. I have lots of hours in this, i've even spent some real money on it.. I love the game, despite it's problems. But I won't play a game in which developers treat me like a moron.

I intentionaly used the words I did, and you can say whatever you want about it, but hey, that is the way OOO treats us and that is how they think of us. Either that, or they are totaly incompetent.. Eitherway, they are making the game suck more and more. You really are blind if you can't see that.

a million things that need balanced or could be adjusted

there a a million things like how damage bonuses stack and scale that could easily be fixed and greatly improve the gameplay. but this new UI is:

1) distracting and redundant

2) REDUNDANT (shield health bar....really)

3) cluttered and to sterotypical of a UI. the old SK UI was very unique and served the player well, it wasn't in the way everything was placed where it made sense and there weren't really many complaints to be made. (yes a few menu bugs that got old but you'll have that with everything)

4) the weapon scroll animation is so distracting and bothersome.

5) the names of items popping up all the time is a little much but i can get over that.

6) the minimap is much much harder to read.

7) player portrait is way to large and fellow knights health bars are also slightly harder to identify with (particularly when a knight "dies")

8) the chat box is a just too high up in my opinion and adds to the clutter.

You can't just get used to something that was changed suddenly for no good reason.
People keep saying, "Oh, you'll get used to it", and that makes the fiery, cataclysmic, devastating, earth-shattering rage of 90,000 suns burn within me.
Imagine this.
You walk into your home after a long day at work/school.
Every single piece of furniture has been pinappleing moved to a different location.
Without any warning.
And you can't move it.
The layout has no thought put into it and is incredibly inconvenient.
Man... you were TOTALLY looking forward to flopping on the couch and watching some TV or going on your computer.
But nooooo, the couch and the TV are in two separate locations now, and you can't plug your computer in because there isn't an outlet nearby and you don't own an extension cord.
Your only other option is to sit in uncomfortable wooden chairs.
While this may be a bad example that may also make a fool out of me, I feel that this can get my point across.
Something that you had gotten very used to, worked out well for you, and made you comfortable has now been distorted beyond your recognition, for the worse. You can't adjust to something quickly if you don't like it. People will keep bashing the UI until it's fixed.

Oh, one last thing: if OOO is going to release something this big, they should at least take a survey prior to updating so we don't have a pomegranatestorm of arguing and conflicting opinions like we're having now. It's just like moving furniture. Whoever wants to move the furniture should ask you first.

My opinion

I love how you instantly assume I'm younger then you. Another reason to say that I thought you came off condescending. I do understand that you want to better the community, but to me you came off a bit arrogant. I'm sorry if I misunderstood your original meaning. People just don't like the new UI, I can understand why newer people would like it, but for some older people it's an important part of the game. I hope that the community can sort itself out on this.

Im sorry dude, I know this is also the matter of personal taste but.. No, I cannot accept people liking it.

The new UI is in totaly different world than Spiral Knights art style.. Which is.. well was, briliantly done! And that is one of the main reasons why we love it so much, or at least, what kept us coming back.. Not to mention it's is clunky, etrusive, and really ugly (menus, arsenal, OMG, the horror of colours!!!!) So no, I cannot accept the fact that there are players who like it. For the love of the game, I cannot.
