I just thought off something.
Since the Guild hall feature, i thought of a house or a small apartment.
You can decorate it like the guild hall, and if this happens pls no upkeep.

Its like a dorm of yours
people can vist, but only a few because its not a guild hall, its just a dorm or something, its not that big but yeah.

mmm.

if no upkeep, must be small, and you have to pay for forniture anyway.
if it isn't small, upkeep is needed, or you will have unlimited space with no effort. you cannot have more space of a guildhall with no price.

If anything, let us change the background of the ready room. Simple and enough.

We're not peasants, we're knights. Soldiers, so to speak. We sleep, fight, and train together, the Guild Hall is our Barracks.
If you want a personal home, leave your guild and make a guild of your own.

Yeah but we're not Generals, we're simply elite footsoldiers (in the case of Vanguard rank) and just regular footsoldiers (in the case of Soldier/Squire/Defender ranks)

Some of the NPCs are worthy of their own private quarters, like Vaelyn and Lt. Feron, but all of us who do the dirty footwork and delving into clockworks don't.

-1 for picket fences.

Personalized barracks would be a nice addition to the guild halls. Any items should be bought directly with crowns though, otherwise the price of guild stuff skyrockets. After all, literally everyone would now have their own space to decorate with the limited supplies. One option is to have a personal room template that allows copies of guild stuff to be used. Any stuff you purchase yourself from NPC stores would not go into the guild treasury, you'd be able to keep it if you leave. Upkeep should be minor seeing how useless such a space would usually be.

The barracks section of the guild hall would obviously need to be instanced like the training hall. Max members is what, 300? Can't cram that many little rooms in one area. Best option would likely be a kind of limbo where only your own room is visible with the rest of the hallway and rooms merely being implied to exist outside the door.

I prefer gameplay/fun over realism/immersion any day. (I know you make some really good points around the forums but they're always so hard to understand/agree with.)

But houses aren't even really "gameplay". They're just an ego-stroking chunk of code for pulling people away from their guildhalls. What purpose would houses serve that Guildhalls don't? And tell me how many guildhalls you know that are too "full" of knights?
