Lets hope getting rid of that portrait and weapon wheel was part of the "Various UI Fixes"
This is definitely a step in the right direction. It may not be a lot, but I see it as a good omen for things to come. Adding a crown to indicate the party leader was a much needed addition for a problem caused by the UI update.
As for minis being added to the Clockworks, I see them as a sort of "teaser" for the new recruits. Due to their unique fighting styles, I'd guess that new knights would want to see more of them and would explore the Arcade to see them in their natural habitat. As for the bugfixes, although most of them are largely trivial, they are collectively making the game better and more fun.
Overall, I think this update was great and I predict that it will be well received. Although I may be a bit too optimistic, but I think the devs are finally getting their act together and producing content the community has been asking for.

The update was met by a string of jokes about how "We've always wanted a lift barrier!!,"
and "Awesome, compounds made better! Not as if they're not worth running. . ." with my friends.
Also, the puppy room was "bugfixed," last update. And the party leader problem should never have existed, it was simply overlooked.
Also, the tabs on the righthand side are still covered by the inventory. . . Do it on one side but not the other why don't you.

Basically things that should have been done before it was implemented... Oh well, at least we are getting them.
It still shows that OOO is still fixing and working on the UI, not just leaving us with a raw, breaking user interface.
As for the lift barrier, I haven't seen it yet so I can't comment on it.
Aren't you meant to be playing the game for fun? Why do so many people look at the game for extristic rewards, as in ingame currency, instead of fun? I have heard from many people, including guildmates and people on the forums that they find the compounds fun and that they enjoy the puzzles, but the compounds don't have enough payout to justify using their mist on.
Exactly. Not worth the mist and to be honest, I'm at the point where I'm making all the gear I possibly can; to do that I need as much money as I can get for my mist.
And. . . the raw UI was tested and NOT edited before release. That's why it's meant to be tested. These are changes that should have been implemented before release as Byas has said and are all problems that didn't exist when we had the simple everything along the top of the screen UI.
Guess it's time for me to stop playing again until the next promo/actual update (and gorgos will not get me back. Seriously, 1 day test server's been open and barely 2 people have posted feedback.)

I am saying the last decent promo they did was last year they have not done one decent promo this year
They should just get rid of the testing server, Make a gate that gives no crowns/heat and doesn't require heat, and lets you test what is in development so that everyone can throw their crown into the ring, but basically what they are doing now is letting everyone test it on the regular server, which is ok but gives the wrong impression on people thinking that these changes will be permanent.
Just to be clear, the Lift Barrier is not new, it has only gotten a new art treatment. Previously it was confusing because the art was too similar to Force Fields. Monsters cannot pass through Force Fields but they CAN pass through Lift Barriers - this has always been the case. The field effect now activates when a knight is carrying an object like a Statue, etc, and looks different than the always-on Force Field "misty barrier".
This patch was programmed by the devil himself.
@crazyoddbaa There wasn't really a visible graphic for the lift's forcefield before. NOW it will be confusing
Why does there have to be a graphic to show that nothing special happens on a lift; really isn't needed.
Thank you OOO, the showing of the party leader will definitely help; unfortunately, I can't seem to get on SK now. It keeps saying "Failed to connect to the server."
Edit: 15 minutes later, it started letting me log on. Yay!
The barriers that prevent you from carrying things through them, you shuddering morons.
Watch the language, Mararon. Nobody said they didn't know what the barriers were.
In any case, I haven't seen ANY lift barriers outside the training halls. Other than that, the UI changes are small, but hopefully noticeable, improvements.
They added lift barriers to Legion of Almire a while back to prevent players from using the maze statues to block the bombie spawns in the left arena.
Now I know why I haven't seen any in missions/clockworks. Thanks, Orbwanter.
BTW, the revamped barriers are nice.
I just want them to fix the lag, I don't want to disconnect in haven anymore, I want to be the 4 barring boss I used to be :(

Show when people are on an elevator (like before, please! the elevator sign is blocking party member icon on the mini-map)

Two major problems i'm still having:
I can't access levels through the arcade. The elevator locks up and freezes.
I can't add friends. The game locks up and freezes. I've been having this problem for about a year now. Although, now it seems that i can add people when i'm in the ready room, but not while i'm in haven. And i almost never meet people in my ready room :(

Minor bug, the party leader icon overlaps the steam VOIP mic icon.
@Flowchart: Apologies, typo in the patch notes! Yes that should have been "Darkfire" not "Shadowfire". Fixed.
Guild hall zoom is nice. Characters look cute up close :P

Can you submit fresh bug reports for all your problems? If they truly cause a client freeze, then can you: do it (freeze the client), kill it, re-run, log back in, and immediately submit a bug report before doing anything else? (When you send a bug report right after logging in, it also includes the previous client log).
Could the crown be changed to the Champion Symbol (the horse)?
The Leader Crown really doesn't fit the graphics of the HUD or the style of the game. While the Horse-emblem has been used in many other capacities.
That's all, otherwise I like this fix-it update.
I'm a fan of this patch. +1 to OOO, especially on the mist barriers and UI fixes.
Crown Count and Energy Count has to be returned as a permanent feature to the UI! Such a simple yet necessary feature and ya take it away.
If it ain't broke don't fix it...isn't that the old adage?
Also did I forget to mention, yay bugfixes? Small updates fixing bugs. Good OOO.
Unfortunately, because the game freezes on the loading screen, even if i kill the client and restart it, it immediately jumps back into the loading screen and freezes again at around 96-98%.
(I've even tried logging into an alternate account, going to haven, logging off and then logging into my regular account, but it goes back to the elevator loading screen and freezes again).
The only solution i found was to stop using the regular client, start up steam, log in, and the game would jump back to the loading screen, but this time it would finish up. When i got to the lobby, i reported it.
I've reported it twice before, i wasn't sure if i should report it more than that, since it happens every single time.
Prior to the update i could log into the regular client (via the facebook button/logging into Steam Community) without the elevators being an issue, but since the update, the elevators are inaccessible through the regular client.
Adding friends through the regular client has almost always been an issue. At some point, the game just started freezing if i touched the "add friend" section. Now it freezes if i even click my picture on the upper left hand corner.
I'll send another bug report tonight, just so you have a fresh one.

How many weapon slots do you have? I have only 2 weapon slots, and I don't have this issue.
If I have a Blast Bomb and a Calibur, and have the bomb equipped, the Calibur will be at the top and bottom. Is this your problem? Or is it something else?

Any person with weapon slots has a bug with 2 of the same item displayed in the wheel.
This is rather stupid considering you wouldn't need the wheel with only two weapons lol.

And I came across a lift barrier in one of the compounds... It took me awhile to figure out what a "lift" barrier was though, lol. I was like... monsters can't follow you down on elevators, what? D:
Small patches every week or every other week is nice. Shows us that you're not all dead somewhere and are working on at least a few things.

Thank you so much for fixing this! This thing was murder for keyboard-only users like myself, but now I've tested out the patch and can say it indeed took care of this issue! Hooray, I can use guns again!
I know it was kind of an obscure problem, but it being fixed makes me much happier to play the game right now. Sometimes attention to detail like this can make a world of difference for players.
More generally, it's always cool to see patches, like this one, that are just a bunch of little improvements. As someone else in this thread already mentioned, these improvements add up (even when they don't involve critical gameplay mechanics like aiming).
Still impossible to see what weapons are cursed when you get cursed.
And what weapon you have equipped, period. I just recently got the Ancient plate shield, and it has a tendency to cover up any weapon you're holding at certain angles.
Yes I am wondering about this too, I was playing with my sister and she could see what weapons she had cursed I believe? Maybe from switching weapons it shows the curse symbol on cursed weapons.
