Hi guys! I'm Krakob, and I'm a Striker. As you all know from perusing Hall of Heroes, a Striker is one of the 9 classes of Spiral Knights. (Striker, Gunslinger, Bomber, Specialist, Cobalt Knight, Guardian, Elemental Defender, Shadow Defender and Piercing Defender), and I have gone down the very equally valid path of being a Striker, because being rude sounds pretty cool, dude. Here's my guide:

-Work your way towards a Skolver Cap.
-Work your way towards a Skolver Coat.
-Work your way towards a Swiftstrike Buckler
-Work your way towards a Dread Venom Striker. Alternatives to this would be a Final Flourish or an Acheron, or why not all of them?

This is all there's to it! Hope I helped! Strikers don't have anything to do with manners. We mostly just boost in front of other players, then behind them and so on and knockback enemies away from teammates and throw around insults a lot. You might think we should use defensive armours and proper shields to deal with enemies, but that's the job of people who do more than just play Lockdown all day.

Hi striker.

Hi there Krakob, winmillion user here.

I have a question , What kind of bonus do you feel more usefull between damage increase or speed increase if you have to choose ?
and in what situations do you use your charge attack (If you use it) ?

Okay. If I get a Gran Faust,

Okay. If I get a Gran Faust, a Snarbolax Coat, a Skolver Cap, an Acheron and a - what's it called? - Barbarous Thorn Shield (?), then do I qualify for being a Striker?

@Atholl
Of all the Striker weapons, I would recommend the Winmillion the least, although it's no problem as a great Striker has all four Striker weapons. Since you can and should have four weapon slots at all time, there's no reason for you to not learn how to use your Winmillion well although you should get another Striker weapon as soon as possible.

As a Striker, you are expected to be a rude clone in Lockdown, where Skolver fits the most. I don't use charges at all as it leaves you vulnerable to others, which is a bad thing because if you die, you must follow the striker code of conduct and insult your opponent, which is really a waste of time as you could use that time to instead completely ignore capture points and score a couple of kills on those who are leaving their base.

@Caste
The Gran Faust is NOT a Striker weapon, which is proven by the simple fact that Echo does not sell any of the related recipes. In fact, the Gran Faust is a weapon of no generic class as it is noly sold by Basil in the Arcade. I'm questioning how you are supposed to get the Sealed Sword in the first place! I forgot to mention it, but a Striker should only use their energy for running Firestorm Citadel, bribing King Krogmo and ressurecting prematurely in Lockdown. Thus, there's no possibility of getting a Sealed Sword. Heck, you might as well vendor the Gran Faust if you already have it!

The Snarbolax Coat is borderline acceptable. It is part of the Wolver line, but its recipe is not sold by Echo due to obvious reasons. If you truly must, get it, although I'd recommend a Skolver Coat instead.

The Skolver Cap is great! Just make sure to roll Shock Max on it at Punch and get at least Shock High on the Skolver Coat I recommended that you'd get so you can waltz through Voltaic Tempests and kill the bomber who lays it. Then call them an "aa n00b" and go back to not caring about capturing points!

Acheron is one of the four acceptable Striker weapons, so keep it. Of course, it is outclassed by the Final Flourish in Lockdown, but you don't have to choose as you might as well fill your four weapon slots with the four available weapons.

Like the Gran Faust, I recommend that you don't get the Barbarous Thorn Shield. If you already have it, vendor it after having passed the final Hall of Heroes as the only proper Striker shield, the Swiftstrike Buckler, is only of the third star level. If you haven't gotten the Barbarous Thorn Shield yet, good! Play some Firestorm Citadel and get the Ancient Plate Shield, then vendor it once you've passed the final Hall of Heroes as it serves no other purpose.
You might ask, why the Swiftstrike Buckler? The answer is simply that it's the only shield Echo has. The Attack Speed Increase is of great use as it allows you to attack further and thus annoy your FSC teammates more as they try to damage the enemies while you push them away. In Lockdown, your regular shield is of course irrelevant as it's replaced by the Striker class shield.

A true striker only uses Cutter weapons, Nightblade-line weapons, Spur line weapons, and Flourish line weapons. Polaris is not even a sword so I'd hardly consider a user of it a true Striker. Of course, gear is not the only part of being a Striker, there's also the matter of being a jerkface. Although Polaris is hardly a jerkface weapon, it causes a lot of rage in Lockdown, which does contribute to Strikerness. As for the Clockw- I mean uh, Firestorm Citadel part, the Polaris is indeed useful for safeguarding your enemies.

To summarise, it's like driving an electrical car. It's not as good as biking but it's far from as bad driving a jeep.

1. The question how I do not beat you with my Final Flourish which you are defenseless against.

2. Archetype is irrelevant in blast network. What I can do, unique to the Striker class, is to insult you when I commit suicide because it's been ages since I played Super Bomberman 3.

Oh great almighty Usevnsevnsixfivfor!

I am aware Echo does not sell the Voltedge recipe, so that makes one wonder. However, the Voltedge recipe can only be obtained by playing PvP, which is where Strikers are expected to spend most of their time so, why not?

But this is about PvE
I have flourish sword and i dont know which alchemy part it should go
-Rigadoon?
-Swift flourish?

I just Think that stun will be useful for killing Pack of wolver/Devilite
Or Should I get Swift Florish For more DMG insted of Stun?

I would not recommend the Rigadoon at all. See, the stun is very uncommon and won't help you much. Devilites are safely disposed of when they are disposed of fast. Wolvers are plain puny. The Rigadoon and Flamberge are just plain underpowered for the moment.

Why wouldn't you use Winmillion? I understand it is weak and only goes to 4* but it is fast and some range (from the charge more so) would be helpfull wouldnt it?

Yes, it is weak.
Yes, it only goes to 4*.
Yes, it's fast, but no, it's not the fastest. DVS is faster and more powerful. I suppose the range from the charge is useful to hit things a bit away when you're farming FSC as a Striker should not use any guns at all. But that's it, really.

How do you actually use

How do you actually use cutters in a way that matters?

Any method I can devise either gets one killed or negates their speed and DPS by having to play carefully. That or they are only good for targets that can't be knocked back, but such rare enemies aren't worth the dead weight when it's everything else that crawls, meows, and spits in this game that'll get ya. I made a vile striker for Jelly King at one point, but I since threw it away to a vendor. Not even worth the trouble of unbinding and selling on the AH. The whole style of sword barely feels better than the winmillion.

@Thowardz
1. Pfft, only a hipster jerk would use a Barbarous Thorn Shield. Everybody knows the Final Flourish charge has better single target DPS while it also works against crowds. Besides, it's much easier to get a good Unique Variant on a Flourish line weapon.
2. Happy with high self-confidence, stabbing all 'em silly defenders.
3. Depressed, suicidal, and as lethal as a turtle in crocs.

@Ninja Gyles
They make for great meat shields in both PvE and PvP! The difference is that they last longer in PvE. You should see what happens when a piercing, elemental, and shadow defender come together. It's... Spectacular. The thunder Troika and 5-6 GMs kick butt really hard.

@Tin For Tat
Cutters are great general purpose weapons. Truth to be told, they work against everything very well delivering a staggering ~250 damage per strike at high damage bonuses in stratum 6. They can be hard to use and are very risky but the payoff is one of the most powerful swords, despite its normalness. Of course, a Striker has alternatives in all other damage categories. DVS was my first 5* sword and I don't regret one bit of it. You should've kept the Vile Striker; a shame you chose to sell it.

I don't know; I just find

I don't know; I just find slinging around crowd control to be much more valuable. A cutter is all fun in games until you have to deal with more than one thing at a time. Maybe just so many people I see -are- pure strikers that no one can crowd control. I made a huge paddle to go along with my regular sword, and I use it exclusively to create some breathing room when enemies get in one of those ridiculously huge clumps at the center of a room.

I find it a preferable alternative to using a bomb.

Seriously, enemies getting in a clump when no one on the team has anything they can do about it is the primary team killer I see. My friend and I duo a lot in the deepest parts of the clockwork. He has a paddle sword too, but he's a GUNNER. The ability to keep yourself from being surrounded, or break clumps, is just too neccessary.

@Tin For Hat
Cutters aren't crowd control weapons, don't wish they were. We strikers have Brandishes for that kind of stuff.

@Usevensixfivfor
That's a pretty sick everything and it'd make one helluva BTS but any Striker with any amount of common sense knows that the only shield for a Striker is Swiftstrike Buckler.

@Neatgood
You don't. You spend your money on worthwhile things instead.

@Thowardz
We're not strictly talking about Strikers, I assume. Alas, Voltedge is a borderline Striker weapon. I must say Voltedge, no matter. You'll probably find fewer people who use Shadow resistant gear than Elemental resistant gear in Lockdown. Snarbies might be common but since there's plenty of Vog users and Chaos has seen a great rise in popularity after its buff, Shadow is now a minority. This might make it seem like Acheron is superior but believe me when I tell you that Shocking your enemy is heavenly. You know what's even better? Glacius. Have you ever put your enemy in a freeze lock? The fear in their eyes is adorable.

@Larry
No idea if that is true but I guess that is possible. If Hail can, Glacius most certainly can just as well.

@Thowardz
Not an awful lot. It's really nice when you need to get out of sticky situations, such as when your proper dash is refilling. Overall, the speed isn't a lot higher and control is lower so yeah, it's pretty mediocre for a Striker, just a nice utility. Recons and Guardians have more use for it as they don't have access to the super boost that Strikers do. I've yet to see people use it well, though. It will be every man's tool in the future as we adapt to it, though.

1) Because I didn't record this game. I just took a screenshot.
I naturally have everything I could ever want as the Striker arsenal is quite small.
2) By convincing your opponents to stand just outside their base, take your sword hits in the face and go back to heal when they're low on health so they can repeat it all again.
3) I like warm, molten, creamy, yummy cheese. Not that cold stuff people put on their cold sandwiches for breakfast, yuck.

@Blake
Ah, I fear you've been confused, Blake. See, there are two kinds of Striker.
Number one is the kind that follows Echo the archetype. He uses various Wolver line sets, wields Brandishes, Cutters, Spurs, and Flourishes.
Number two is the kind of Striker you are thinking of. It runs around in LD and tries to score as much damage as possible. They typically use the Skolver set but might also be found in various other sets and combinations, such as Chaos, BKC+various armours, et cetera. Their weapons are Flourishes, Divine Avengers, Gran Fausts, and various guns. Mostly Polaris.

To summarise, I am both kinds of Strikers but I acted as the first kind during this game. However, I was blinded by lack of compensation for my microscopic manhood and simply had to bash a few skulls.
