This is a set of special enemies that have a random chance of appearing while running T3. Story-wise, they're assassins sent by the Crimson Order to get rid of the player. Their main purpose is to provide a bit of variety and challenge for experienced players, and they do not drop anything in particular. Maybe a token that turns into crowns on pickup, the amount being decided by the player's prestige. These crowns and the prestige represent the bounty on player's heads. A high amount of prestige increases chances of meeting assassins. Defeating an assassin will increase your prestige, in addition.
Before encountering them, the players receive a warning in the form of a dead recruit laying in the way. Inspecting the body will reveal a warning note saying something to the effect of "You have made the wrong enemies, your time is up." One minute after spotting this body, the assassin(s) will appear.
During a battle with an assassin, players will be unable to revive. They may get up again after the assassin has fled, either after they've taken sufficient damage or if all the players are dead.
They might look something like this, except designed by a real artist.
Burst and Thaw, the coordinated assassins
Burst is a gremlin ghostmane stalker wielding a fire-inflicting Polaris (hereafter referred to as Solaris) and a modified Combuster. Thaw is an undead wielding a freezing Biohazard (hereafter referred to as Cryohazard) and a freezing Faust. Both are capable of turning invisible, and one will cloak while the other distracts the player. They alternate visibility for about ten seconds at a time and have three distinct attack patterns.
While visible, Burst will push knights back with Solaris walls. If pushed back far enough, Thaw will lie in wait and gank players in the back with his Faust. The Faust's attack pattern mimics that of gremlin thwackers, but slightly faster. After ten seconds, they switch, and Burst turns invisible.
During this second phase, Thaw launches charged Cryohazard shots against the player. If they don't hit players, they stop after traveling the regular travel length of Cryohazard and suspend in mid-air. After five shots, Thaw cloaks and Burst reappears to launch Solaris against all the Cryohazard charges, which detonates them if there are any left. Thaw's Cryohazard charges have the radius of super blast bombs, and leaves freezing hazes in their wake.
Under the cover of Thaw's freezing hazes, Burst starts charging his Combuster. When fully charged, he'll cloak and reappear at various positions in the battlefield five times in rapid succession, unleashing Combuster charges. They don't work like actual Combuster charges, but more like the retrode laser. It's easier to dodge because you get a warning, but still tough simply because there are so many of them. Burst's Combuster leaves lingering flames which can be shots and walked through, but damages you and inflicts fire. After this, the pair reverts to phase 1.
Burst and Thaw are both immune to freeze and fire.
Tron, the robot unicorn attack
Tron is, for most intents and purposes, a Trojan. A distinct difference is that he's a robot created by the Crimson Order to eradicate knights. This means that, unlike other Trojans, he is resistant to piercing damage. Tron has a guardian shield, a unicorn horn, and a shock-inflicting Troika. He prefers to spawn while the player is already engaged in battle with many enemies, such as in arenas.
He knows all the moves of a regular Trojan, but is a bit faster with everything he does. The attack buff shockwave thingy is capable of spawning mecha knights if there are few enemies left.
Upon taking 3 hits in rapid succession, Tron will instantly raise his guardian shield, rendering him impervious to damage from all angles. The shield will also block damage for surrounding enemies. The shield goes down after 8 seconds or after sufficient damage has been inflicted to it, performed by attacking enemies within the shield's radius. When the shield breaks, Tron performs his shockwave attack, which may spawn mecha knights if there are few enemies left.
Tron's unicorn horn has a passive effect, and he will have a purple circle around himself much like deadnaughts. Enemies within this circle are healed at the same rate as a silkwing. Tron is not able to revive undead, however.
When slain, Tron will revive once and surround himself with elemental DR orbs. During this phase, he will no longer shield and instead act more aggresively.
Hyperion, the rocket snipe
Hyperion is a highly-trained killer snipe, do not let her size deceive you! She is a member of the beast family, carries a modified Plague Needle, dual-wields Fearless Rigadoon, and can drop Scintillating Sun Shards. How does she dual-wield swords without hands? She does have hands! They're floaty, rayman-esque thingies. This is the secret behind how snipes are able to rotate their wings 360.
There are three different attack patterns. In the first one, she will strafe around her target and unleash Plague Needle. This does not work like when players use it, instead it fires four bursts of three spikes that work pretty much like T2 Polyp attacks.
Her second attack involves getting up, close and personal. She'll boost to her target, perform a tracking four-hit combo with her rigadoons, and then boost in a circles away from her target and back again. She'll do this two or three times.
The fourth attack pattern simply involves boosting around in the general area of the battlefield and dropping sun shards. They'll have little bomb counters above them so you can tell them apart from your own shards. One execution of the pattern will drop for shard bombs.
Hyperion doesn't have as much health as other assassins, but she's always on the move and therefore very hard to deal with slow-moving bullets and swords.
Sorry, I just suck at detecting troll thread.
Anyway thanks you that ******ins is an acceptable word in the forums!
Edit: Sarcastic thread confirmed of an indirect summary of other enemies.
Edit: Oh, an new enemy.
