Return to Cradle: Origins (roleplay story)
"He's a stranger, who happened to wake up here. I suspect Gwen brought him in. Could you cook Astraea something so she doesn't go cannibal and try to eat our limbs? Please?"
I look through my Valiance's sniper scope, checking out the morning shoppers. Right next to the market was the White council building. I spy with my little eye........ Xindao, an honorary council member. Astraea, another council member, and a stranger wandering around. I also saw the chef Takiza. I shift my attention and notice a shopper, wearing a light grey combat coat and dark grey pants.
I see ya, Otto. Whatcha doing there? Buying new underwear?
I chuckle as the thought formed in my mind, then I freeze as a feminine voice orders, "Stay down, or I'll be forced to put an arrow through you. Now state your name and business!"
OOC: Addressing Gwen. I figured she might do this when she caught me trying to kill Otto and spying on the building. (I was trying to kill Otto because he's my rival in the merc business. Bad for business, ya know?
Otto browsed the products in front of him. Nothing really special, he was just wasting time. He turned on his heal and began to leave, but not before the glint of a rifle scope caught the morning sun and shot it right at his eyes. He laughed when the barrel seemed to be aimed towards him.
"Clever girl."
Otto walked to the exit and pushed open the door, feeling for his Magnus under his coat.
"Just try it, I dare ya."
((Thanks for giving me somewhere to start, Top. And the gun IS called a Magnus, right?))
Nai
As Nai woke up in what seemed to be a cafe in the marketplace, he could hear the morning market sounds of people buying and selling from the open windows. It was a bright and cool day, as he yawned, but...where was he???
Travid walked out of a cafe carrying three boxes full of pasties and other goodies. He grumbled at his bad luck. With there being nothing edible Astraea would probably cannibalize everyone, so Gwen sent him out for baked goodies. He should be in Almire doing what he does best. Not purchasing expensive pasties with his pocket money. 'I was so close to a full repair for my Nightblade too' He thought. He sighed at the thought and continued walking. He had to get these pastries to Astraea before she eats everyone. But with the cafe being very popular it spanned for five blocks. He almost got out of the cafe blocks when someone called out to him. He turned around only to see a young girl. But something was off about her. Travid began a full examination, in a way. He walked around her taking in every detail. She looked very disturbed by this. Then it came to him, she wasn't a she, she was a he! Travid jumped back he was obviously a spy, only a spy could have that level of masking. To appear as a girl to get information, clever but not clever enough. He couldn't get the spy with three boxes of pastries so he had to play along with this spys' plans.
(Of course Travid thinks that Nai-Chan is a spy, so he'll be walking with Nai to the Council building. Once Travid gives the pastries to Astraea they'll all eat, then before Travid begins the interrogation he get the cold, hard, truth. From Nai, of course)
Sir Snarble left his den for the white council building. He made it to the building, he wanted to get into the building so he wouldn't be late. He tried to walk through the door to the building. But his massive fat and armor wouldn't allow it.
"Think, you idiot, think!" , he thought. He suddenly remembered one of his powers.
Sir Snarble morphed into a knight, and silently walked through the door.
Surprisingly, no one was there. Except for some notes. They looked not like anyones writing he looked at before. It was very messy, it was....
A grocery list.
Everybody was out buying food. Sir Snarble sighed, and went to his post and started work.
Nai
Nai looked awkwardly at Travid thinking "why is he staring at me like that??...and more importantly why hasn't he offered me one of the pastries?!" Nai inspected intently at a strawberry eclair pastry tha was sitting in the box comfortably..."Is that a rose moon eclair?! *w*" his eyes were twinkling irresistably like a puppy wanting a treat.

It would seem the enemy spy has a sweet tooth. Will provide some pastries for him to eat. Just don't give him a pastry from the box labeled 'Astraea'. She'll eat me alive, not even joking. The last time I did that she swore the sacred pastry oath (Yes that is a thing). If I hand out any of her pastries, I'm as good as eaten.
-"Is that a rose moon eclair?!" He asked.
"Yes it is, would you like one?" answered Travid. The spy quickly grabbed one and took a rather large bite out of it. He savored the taste before swallowing it. "Aren't these supposed to be on the top 25 for most expensive and delicious pastries?" He catechized.
"Yeah, but the Council only eats the best. It's a strain on my money." Travid replied, "Follow me, I have to deliver these pastries to them right now. You can have a few, just don't take any from the box labeled 'Astraea'. It's for my own safety"
( I think I'm getting the hang of this RP. Hopefully Nai doesn't eat all of the Rose Moon Eclairs XD )
As I waited patiently I asked, "Where exactly am I?'. I felt something on my back. I turned around to see wings. "I have wings?"
"You're in the White Council building. Gwen probably knows why you're here. Heck, maybe I do, but I need her to confirm it before I go all 'psyche' on you." I look behind him. "Yes, you do have wings. Have you only recently discovered them?" I chuckle. "But yeah, you'll have to wait for Gwen to be finished the good ol' Top." I count down from my fingers from three. At zero, a clamour arises from the roof, along with minor protesting. "It's all in good time..." I whisper to him.
Nai
Nai started following Travid obediently; being lured by the scrumptious pastries. Then, something struck his curiousity... "Hey, you seem friendly, what's your name????? And who is errr.. "Astra"???...no Estre??, ummm Astre...Astroa? ...astri.......ostre....ostrich?" as Nai tried to pronounce the name he failed considerably each time.. So he finally pointed at the label in the box "THAT name-! who is that??" Suddenly Nai noticed that he made a hole in the box when he pointed at the label. He didnt pay much attention to its significance and grabbed another pastry. As Nai munched the delicacy, this time an "éclair au café," he inspected Travid's every features waiting for his reply, circling around as they walked to the Council.
Kirito
I smirk as Astraea jumps on my shoulders for a piggy back rise and points to the kitchen. "Not so fast; we can't have you stealing all the pudding, so you'll have to wait." We walked over to the dining hall, an immaculate white room with stainless marble floors. I plopped Astraea down on one of the mahogany chairs and took a seat next to Gwen. I grinned and whispered into her ear, "Good morning, beautiful." She smiled at me and twirled her fork around on the table.
Astraea was deep in thought, probably contemplating how she could get to the cupboards without being caught. I heard footsteps and turn around to see Xindao, another one of the Council members. I waved in greeting to him and he responded with a nod. Xindao took a seat and discreetly slid a Nature Valley Oats n' Jelly bar over to Astraea. He smiled, "That should hold her off for a while longer, right?"
Astraea pouted and said, "I'll hold you off, you little," and lunged towards Xindao. I caught her just before she could devour him alive and held her back. Rolling my eyes, I reprimanded, "No biting people today."
At that moment, a young man showed up in the hallway. He asked, "Hello," like he was slightly scared. He shouldn't be. Wait a minute... The hallway he came from led to the bedrooms. The boys wouldn't have him in their rooms under any circumstances, and Astraea wasn't one to pick up random kids out of nowhere. I turned my gaze to Gwen and gave her my signature "WTF" look. She mouthed, "I'll explain later."
Xindao swiveled around and grinned, "Hello! And how are you this morning? Welcome to the White Council building. Takiza will hopefully be up soon and cook us all breakfast. Come sit down, we can talk." He pays the seat next to him- oh my glob. "You DO know that's Takiza's spot, right?" Xindao shrugged.
"My god, he's gonna kill you, man!" I exclaimed. The stranger merely shrugged and took a different seat, still close to Xindao. He replied, "My morning is going nice. From what I remember."
Suddenly, the beast arrived. Takiza Jaelyn Octavian Azalos walked down the stairs drearily, wearing his terrifying Wolver slippers and Gremlin nightgown. He clumsily made his way towards the table and pointed at the newcomer, muttering, "Who's the kid? New maid around here?" I couldn't help but snicker.
Xindao suppressed a laugh and said, "He's a stranger, who happened to wake up here. I suspect Gwen brought him in. Could you cook Astraea something so she doesn't go cannibal and try to eat our limbs? Please?" My eyes widened. She's been relatively quiet for the past few minutes... My gaze went up to the pudding pantry, and there she was, brown smudges on her entire body. "Vogdammit, Astraea!" I yelled.
The stranger sitting next to Xindao asked, "Where exactly am I? I have wings?" I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Our guest was an idiot if he didn't know where he was.
Xindao had the good grace to answer,"You're in the White Council building. Gwen probably knows why you're here. Heck, maybe I do, but I need her to confirm it before I go all 'psyche' on you. And yes, you do have wings. Have you only recently discovered them?" I chuckle. "But yeah, you'll have to wait for Gwen to be finished the good ol' Top." I count down from my fingers from three. At zero, a clamor arises from the roof, along with minor protesting. "It's all in good time..." He whispers to the stranger.
I stood up abruptly and took Astraea by the arm. "If you don't mind, I'm guessing that I have to bring Astraea to meet up with Travid and pick up her snacks." Astraea clapped her hands together in excitement, her short waves of hair bouncing up and down with glee. "What're you waiting for, Kirito Onii-San? Let's go!"
I sighed. "Come along, Astraea."
Two people entered the room. One looked quite strong, while the other was a cute, beautiful.... I shook my head and replied to the person. "I, I can't actualy remember anything. I don't even know who I am >_<. So what is for breakfast? I have to get my bow back. It is probably something important."
Bak Mei
back in the countryside, as the old man lay comfortably in his hammock he began to wonder...
-I wonder if Nai will get the item delivered in time...let's hope at least he doesn't loose it or break it...that stupid diciple...!*sigh*
he then stared into the distance of the lively green fields and decided to sleep and change his thoughts of the possible things that could go wrong because of his stupid diciple...

The spy has no idea who Astraea is, that may be a problem. But he has a knowledge of pastries that rival Astraea's pastry knowledge. I can see an argument already. I'll tell the spy who she is, it's not like he really doesn't know...right?
"It's Astraea, and she's one of the Council Enforcers...and the only councilor with a sweet tooth. That's why I didn't want you to eat from her box of pastries. Those pastries are the sweetest ones money can buy and they'll destroy your taste buds." Travid explained, " And my name's Travid."
They arrived at the White Council building but before they entered, Travid checked the pastry count. "Two and a half boxes of pastries. You ate half a box getting here." muttered Travid, "Here". Travid placed the boxes into the spy's hands and beckoned for him to follow. The minute they walked in Travid was tackled at full force by a woman. "Where's the food?!" She exclaimed.
"I gave it the that guy so you wouldn't destroy it when you tackled me. Hey, give her the box with her name on it. The one you accidentally poked a hole into" Travid said. The spy immediately passed the pastry box to her and she snatched it from his hand, unfurled her wings and flew up to a tree branch. She sat there eating her pastries like a thirsty man gulping down water.
OOC: Ugh, you guys have Gwen all over the place. First in the kitchen, then on the rooftop...I hope she's physically fit, 'cause she's got a lot of climbing to do. Mind if I retcon?
BIC:
Gwen waited in the kitchen for the winged kid, but as he didn't show up after a full hour, she left a folded note for him and headed to the practice field. There she examined the strange bow that the kid brought with him. Its leading edge was razor-sharp, and she soon discovered that the bow could be broken in twain to create two short swords. How incredibly unique! She put it back together and drew its bowstring. To her surprise, it spontaneously formed a virtual arrow, colored blue and glowing with an otherworldly light. When she let go, the arrow shot straight and true without deviating its course. Amazing.
She went back inside to find that the boy had awakened. Takiza was bellowing orders to the cooking staff, probably telling them for the thousandth time how to do their jobs. Gwen took a seat next to Kirito and brushed back her hair. "Good morning beautiful," he cooed to her. She smiled shyly and bit her lip. Her mind drifted off into romantic heaven while her friends squabbled over the food, but snapped out of it when Kirito said, "Come along, Astraea."
Gwen asked him hurriedly, "Going? Going where? I want to come with you."
(OOC: she has quite forgotten to return the bow to Arch. xD)
Nai looked at his surroundings curiously, meeting the eyes of many people...he wasn't used to such a big place and was a bit intimidated by the strange people around the Council. Nai suddenly remembered something! "oh right, the package..." he mumbled. But to his surprise, he suddenly realised he had left his bag back at the market! Nai started panicking and running around in circles completely forgetting that evryone was watching "what do i do??! what do i do??! i'm too young to die!! TwT sensei is going to kill me!!!" while running cluelessly, he bumped into a silver haired woman... "ouch..><"
An Irontech bomb went off, and four soldiers ducked behind the wall for cover. Leading them was a young boy, no older than fourteen, who held a battle-worn Calibur in pale, tense hand. His tattered Cobalt helm and armor were barely holding together, and his shield was marred by numerous cuts and bullet holes.
His name was Euclid.
"What are we gonna do, man?" asked another frightened soldier in similar (though better-condition) Cobalt. "They got us cornered! We're all gonna die!" he moaned. Euclid paid him no heed. He was listening to the enemy, waiting for the right moment to break out of cover. He overheard them planning to advance, so he motioned for the squad to wait for his signal. After a few seconds, he gave it, and they broke out with guns blazing and swords swinging. They mowed down the surprised government forces, then took cover inside a nearby building once the element of surprise wore off. It was then that Euclid spoke. "We're not going to die, but we will if we keep telling ourselves that. So stop that nonsense. I need you guys to be at your full strength, okay? I can't have you freaking out on me at the last minute and getting us all killed." The rest of the squad nodded silently and kept vigilant watch on the enemy.
I turn around slowly, standing up. "I'm..... Topoyozada. I'm a merc." I glance backwards to see Otto grinning at me. I turn back to Gwenyiver, the person that held me at bow-point. "I'm not doing anything to hurt your precious council, just here to kill a friend of mine." I gave her a mock salute, then jumped off the cliff.
I landed in front of Otto, and I ran at him, throwing my knives. He dodged those easily, but I wasn't going for wounding him. I ran full speed at the White Council building, jumped, and stab. I was then slowly climbing my way up the building with the knives. I had to ask a friend to keep her sister out of Merc. business.
OOC: After I jump off the cliff, Gwen teleports to Kirito. And.... My 'friend' is Xindao, because I'm assuming he knows me, from he saying, "Good 'ol Top."
Nai apologized "sorry!" Then he hurried to Travid's side, and once again with pleading puppy eyes he asked Travid "could you help me find my bag? i..i think i left it in the market...pleaassee??"
As I waited, three more people entered the room. one girl and two boys. Eventually, one started freaking out and running around. He bumped into the girl. "Are you guys alright?" I asked. I also looked at the girl, and saw she had my bow. "And could I have my bow back? I have a feeling it's important."
Sorry! D:, I was following Top's beginning, but let's just say some guard stopped him and ignore what Xindao did just then XD
BIC:
"Well, that IS quite strange, I won't lie." I study the boy for a minute before I glance at Takiza's cooking staff. A little harder to concentrate, but that's never stopped me. I spy with my little eye a queen, ex-queen, and high-ranking angel walking out of the room.
I turn to the boy again. "Do you feel as if you lost something a bit more than your bow? Like...I don't know, and this may sound silly, but a piece of yourself? I've only seen such cases on rare occasion where someone spends so much time with their weapon....that everything they are IS the weapon. Perhaps this is what's happened, which means...."
"Gwen might have put your bow in the target practice room. Stay here." I rush down the hall, past servants and furniture, and finally run out into the target practice room. An assortment of swords, daggers, warhammers, spiked staffs, maces, and axes lined one wall, while the others on the far wall(entering from the side, so the immediate wall surrounding him was the first wall) are bows, guns, magic-simulator staffs(electronic staffs that use their electricity for "spells"), and magic-simulator wands. The wall to the right was a wall decorated with throwable bombs(room controls the explosion), ground-lockable bombs, throwable and ground-lockable health fields(regen health), insta-sentry droids(lock onto ground and shoot targets via pivoting), hacker gauntlets(fingerless gloves that allow opening of computer database by making a square with your hands, forming a screen, enlarging it, and there, a full computer in a touchscreen hologram.), insta-traps(encloses victim in thin film that's scientifically only breakable from the outside.), and insta-droids(pods that expand into troops extremely better than modern Mecha Knights.).
As you can imagine, it was a big room.
And on the last side was weapons found. The targets are actually everywhere once the room is activated. Holographic people, programmed to fight. If you get hit, you don't die, but rather are teleported out of the room and to the final results room to see your score. The room also raises the floor into whatever landscape it wants or is programmed to do next. I run to the Found wall, and look for a bow that wasn't there yesterday.
OOC: Crap, Archemiday's post disagrees with mine XD
The stranger extended his hand to Gwen and asked, "And could I have my bow back? I have a feeling it's important." Gwen stopped, stared, then remembered what he was talking about and handed it back to him. "I'm sorry, I got rather preoccupied with the surrounding altercations. Here you go." As he took it from her, their hands touched briefly.
Gwen bit her fingernail and asked softly, "May I know your name? Mine's Gwenyvier."

The spy is running around in a circle...and just bumped into Gwen. Now that, was unprofessional. Will question 'spy' now.
The 'spy' fell down after bumping into Gwen. That was pretty unprofessional. He seemed to have forgotten something. So Travid took the time to ask him a question, "Are you really a spy? I mean, that female disguise was pretty good and I've seen some good disguises. That disguise was almost flawless. I almost believed it myself."
"What do you mean 'disguise'? This is how I look." said the non-spy.
"W-wait, so you aren't a spy?"
"No, what gave you that idea?"
"Well, I mean, it's not everyday you see someone who's a man but looks like a girl. So I just assumed that you were a spy." He admitted, "But I also saw this bag and I assumed again that there was a weapon inside of it. I took it so I could turn it in". Travid pulled out the bag the non-spy had been looking for. "I nabbed it when you went for the rose moon eclair. Sorry about the whole spy thing, you can have my share of pastries. I don't even know your name!"
Nai stared curiously at the boy with the wings, teary eyed he explained "i actually think i lost a very important thing...My master will kill me if i don't deliver it in time!!...what am i going to doooo- oooo a macaron!." Nai glanced at the french delicacy and carefully took a bite from it~ it had the flavour of a strawberry whipped cream and fresh lemons which made him forget about his troubles for a second- As he finished up the delicious meringue-like pastry, he stared at the winged boy in front of him curiously..."Are you an bird?" he asked curiously. Travid then asked him
"Are you really a spy? I mean, that female disguise was pretty good and I've seen some good disguises. That disguise was almost flawless. I almost believed it myself."
Nai replied confused "What do you mean 'disguise'? This is how I look."
Travid pulled out Nai's bag. "I nabbed it when you went for the rose moon eclair. Sorry about the whole spy thing, you can have my share of pastries. I don't even know your name!"
Nai jumped in joy! "I'm Nai, thanks so much for giving me my bag~! You see, it has a letter to blackmail a rich guy- oh wait nevermind! sensei told me not to tell anyone...Anyway, my arsenal was in that bag too, thanks Vog i didnt lose it...sensei would have killed me...." Nai made a traumatized face whenever speaking of his sensei (in a comical way hehe) which told quite a bit of how scary his sensei could be.
Otto dodged the knives, his above average senses allowing him to hear and see them at the beginning of their journey. He pulled out his Magnus, then stopped. A lot of busy shoppers around, and most likely undercover Knights. Besides, the 'deadly mercenary' was climbing a wall with his knives.
"This could be interesting. Maybe I should follow."
H
Otto rushed around the building, searching for a fire exit that would be his entrance.
Nai
Nai finally calmed down as the exhaustion from the travel caught up with him, as he sat in one of the chairs he yawned and slowly fell asleep ~like a kitty~ (((yep im going to sleep~ while that in the RP: please dont wake Nai up or use the him for a dialogue~ you can however carry him to a room or idk do whatever as long as he stays asleep XDD)))
I sit there, watching the mayhem go on. I sigh as a pastry box makes it's way to Astraea. I walk behind the delivery boy, and sneak a couple thousand crowns into his pocket, and later I'll add the other three thousand to his electronic wallet. I use the others as cover, since my subtly unique appearance blends in with the crowd's bright clothing with it's calmness.
There's no one to interact with right now, so I figure I'll just wait for Takiza to serve up breakfast as he so masterfully does. And maybe later I can talk with some of the employees. They seem to enjoy my company. I may be Gwen's older brother, but that doesn't make up much for character.
As I grabbed my bow, our hands lightly brushed, which made me blush a barely visible line. "What is your name? Mine is Gwen.". She said. "My name is... I can't seem to remember actually. Heck, I can't remember anything. I couldn't even remember I had wings."
Log entry #089
Well the spy isn't a spy and his name's Nai. I accused him of being a spy ( whoops ), spent the majority of my money on pastries, and my Nightblade still needs to be repaired!
We all stared at the sleeping form in the chair. "What now?"
"What do you mean what now? We can't just leave him here!"
"Then who's going to house him, just for now at least."
"Should be Travid."
"What! I already gave him my breakfast! Why not you, Astraea? He seems to have a large knowledge of pastries."
"Nuh uh."
"Gw-" Before the question was asked she glared daggers at Travid. "Nevermind, I guess this is a bit of a landslide isn't it?" The entire Council nodded in agreement. Travid sighed, then lifted up Nai. He proceeded to walking down to his apartment on Sanndalin St.
"That also reminds me. Because I have no memory of what has happened to me, who or what I am, where am I going to stay?" I asked.
(OOC: Thanks, Arch. I'd kinda developed a minor case of writer's block. :P)
The boy replied, "My name is...I can't seem to remember actually. Heck, I can't remember anything. I couldn't even remember I had wings. Which reminds me: because I have no memory of what has happened to me, who or what I am, where am I going to stay?"
Gwen held her chin and thought for a moment. Then she snapped her fingers and declared, "I know! You can stay with Kirito! I'm sure the two of you would get along splendidly, and he'd be happy to put you up for a while, right Kirito?" Kirito did not reply - he'd gone out with Astraea while Gwen was distracted. She stomped her foot and crossed her arms. "Darn it! I'll have to ask him when he gets back...which could be very late tonight, knowing the Queen. Looks like you'll have to stay in my room for the night. I'll sleep on the couch in the lobby. We can figure out a more permanent arrangement in the morning."
Takiza had returned with the cooks to serve breakfast, so they returned to the table. Gwen was served a salad platter and soup, while the stranger was served a plate of eggs and bacon. A bowl of chow was set at Sir Snarble's dining place on the floor. Gwen thanked God for the food and dove into her salad.
As they ate, Gwen asked Xindao, "So...did you read my note?" The smirk on her face meant that she was up to something.
"Err, maybe..." I quickly sort out all the exits in the room. "Well, I had to wonder what it was doing there and why there was a strange boy in your room, didn't I? I have to be a responsible brother, or you might be running amok." I chuckle sarcastically. "Why and how DID he end up in your room?"
"Alright.". I replied to Gwen. The chef put food in front of me. This is a breakfast for champions! I thought as I dug in. (Insert "How animals eat their food clip here X3). I was just about to bring up what We should call me when Gwen asked Xindao about the note. I'll prepare his grave, I thought.
Gwen blushed and said abashedly, "We weren't doing anything up there! I just found him fainted on the ground, so I carried him in to take care of him. I was not running amok. Besides, haven't I told you not to read my notes?" She delivered a swift kick to his shin underneath the table and grinned.
"Maybe, but I still have to take care of my darling sister." I smile, and scoop up some hashbrowns. "Now, maybe if I was aware of this kind of stuff while it was happening, it might be a different story."
OOC: I'm ready to bring up the conflict. It may involve the Council Building being Quarantined and a zombie virus introduced into the building, but then we kill them off, escape the Quarantine, and get an update on the situation. During this time, the characters aquire use and introduction....well, DEEPER introduction...
Gwen just smiled and finished her salad. She turned to the stranger and asked, "Now, what should we call you? How about..." She cocked her head and winked. "...Archemiday?" She elbowed him in the arm and chuckled.
She finished her soup and got up from the table. "The Council meets in an hour. Wanna check it out, Archemiday?"
I finish breakfast, and walk down the hall to the Target Room. I scan my hand, and enter.
As soon as I enter, I bring out my gun. It's grooves glow with light, and I press a small irrelevent stud on the hem of my pants. I hear a click. Ammo full. I hold out my hand, and a dagger zips into my hand, and I attach it to my belt.
START
A mountain of black cubes raises from the flat floor, and enemies materialize.
I find this too easy. As more and more enemies enter, the more they die. I stand, motionless, and wait for a crowd of about ten or so to be running at me. I snap into motion, speed-jumping into the air behind the mob, and my gun suddenly changes. The barrel gets longer, and the handle gets only slightly longer to match. Still a one handed gun, I point it at the crowd. Colors red, blue, and yellow appear on markings along the gun barrel. My birthright. I point the gun in their direction. Suddenly, I am jumping on shoulders and heads, killing with Yellow. They stumble back and wink out as I hit vital points. I twirls through the air, shooting, and not missing a shot. Vitals, maybe, but not one bullet misses a person. I land and spin my gun around as it turns to Red, the gun barrel pointing behind me. I shove the gun in one's chest, and shoot the others behind him. I pirouette backwards, jumping and landing on top of the mountain. I click it to Blue, and starts shooting, freezing some, and skewering others with icicles....
Results. I always go to see if they change. But I always end up the same as Gwen, which is good, since it's a decent score. It's just Kirito getting at least fifty more people than us.
I walk to the Lounge...
OOC: If you're thinking he's OP, he's not. It's just that holograms are too easy.
I clamber over the window, and look behind me. Otto's not following, good. I turn to see Xindao coming, from another room. " 'Sup?" I asked him casually, crashing on a couch. I unsling my Sniper with one hand, then aimed at Xindao. "Seriously man, your sister is VERY annoying. I try and kill Otto and she interferes! I mean, I know killing is bad, but she won't even let me kill him a little bit. You know my sniper skills! I can headshot him right away! A merciful death! One clean shot. Just tell her to stay out of merc business."
I glance at the window I just entered from. Strange. Otto's missing. Must have gone home, I reasoned, then turned to Xindao, "When you got that sorted out, can you give me a job? Like killing Morai? Backstabbing? Robbing a bank? Even babysitting that stranger I saw you with would be nice. I'm getting bored, and I'm running low on cash." I gave him the big puppy eyes thing, which was worth a shot, even at Xindao. I pouted a little like a kid, then, "PWEASE?"
"Top, killing is bad, no matter who it is-well, actually if they threaten to within a ten minute period, then yeah, be my guest. But I'll interfere just as much as Gwen will. Violence is..." I stumble on the word beneath, accidentally thinking behind, but I fix this. "Violence is beneath us, and we only use it when we have to..." I sense him getting bored of my lecture, and sigh. "There is something you could do. It would be more interesting than hunting down one of your own. Gwen is showing whom she now calls Archemiday around. I trust you to keep Gwen in good safety with the stranger. I gotta relax for awhile, I just came out of Target Practice." I stretch, and basically smash into the sofa beneath.
After climbing the fire escape and barging through a fire door, Otto listened and looked out for Top. He glanced out the windows, saw the merc climbing and went up the next flight of stairs. And the next one. And the one after that. "This... Sucks..."
He reached a level where he didn't see Top, but he heard conversation below him.
"-killing is bad, no matter who it is..."
Otto went down a level and found the door the conversation was coming from.
"-trust you to keep Gwen in good safety with the stranger..."
Otto racked his brain. Gwen, Gwen. Ah, she was a Council Enforcer, an Angel. And she was with a stranger and someone was going to pay Top to get protect her from him it seemed.
"Huh.. I'll keep that in mind."
Then what sounded like footsteps came from behind the door.
Otto froze as the knob rattled
I let myself into the kitchen, hoping what Xindao said was true. Their last known whereabouts was in the kitchen. Sure enough, I found Gwen and the Stranger there, talking about Council Meeting.
I say my usual casual greeting, " 'sup?" I sat down on a chair, and grabbed an apple, "Okay, miss 'I'm the former Queen of the Valkyries' and 'I'm an enforcer slash angel', don't say anything yet. Your brother has already told me blah blah blah about killing and stuff. So, anyway..... Your brother gave me a job. Hope the pay's good. So..... I hear you and your new boyfriend here, dumped Kirito? are exploring the council. I'm going to protect you, get some money, and go sightseeing." Gwen was going to saw something when I held up my hand, "I know you can defend yourself, but you might miss something. Anyway, a job's a job, so lead the way, 'lil miss Valk."
OOC: Top wants to get on Gwen's nerves, but that's because he has a crush on her. But he knows he has no chance. I mean, Kirito AND Archemiday?
Nai
As Nai woke up from his nap he noticed he was in a strange place again...he had a deja vu...where was he again??..As he inspected the cozy room, the sheets of the bed gave off a familiar smell.... Travid? He decided he would sleep some more and rolled over the bed, maybe a bit too much, because as he reached the corner of the small bed he fell clumsily on the floor. "ouuuucchh" Nai slowly got up, half asleep and tried to figure put where his bag was as he strolled around the room touching every little curious items laying around~
I groan as I hear Top explain his whole mission, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY SISTER AND ARCHEMIDAY! Not only will I get raged on by my sibling, but I'll have a stranger thinking I'm overprotective! This day will probably end in misery, and Astraea throwing expensive pastries at my face, or shoving them, who knows? I better get some fresh air before the Meeting. I open a window behind the couch and poke my head out to feel the nice breeze on my face. I jump out as the window automatically slams shut, and spread my wings to the sky.
I perch on a church roof after awhile. I hear services inside. I am not quite welcome here as an angel, these people believing we're no longer holy because we dwell amongst mortals. Personally, I don't know if we're holy. Long long ago, possibly. But I don't believe the angels these people believe in would hurt a fly, and instead fix things with no shed of blood.
I unsummon my wings, and swing off the side of the roof into a window alcove, staring at the service inside. I personally find it strange. Why believe in another person, when you could do twice more than they could. Building a universe and things is only two things, roughly. You could create wonderful machines, tutor amazing people, create music! So many things you could do! And you sit in a church, praising someone who can only do two things? I might believe it created a universe, but I doubt it has any power over it's creations, or horrors and tragedies would have never existed. I stare at the priest for a long moment before I decide to do something stupid. I fly really quickly around the lawn, quietly enough so they can't hear me inside. I fly through the doors, looking like a blur, and drop a bundle of flowers as I fly into the rafters upside-down, and fly out the doors I came in from the exact same way. I let the crowd gasp as I fly up into the sky...
"Yeah, Archemiday. That seems like a good name. And sure, anything that might help me get my memory back is good." . Someone came in and started talking about a job. In that description he also mentioned me being her boyfriend. Naturally, I blushed and said, "I'm not her boyfriend!". And then something whirled past my head. The wall behind me had a fork that almost hit me. Something told me I was making enemies.
To Xindao's surprise, Gwen gave him a big hug. "Thank you for caring, dear brother. Mister Top here can be my escort." She let go of him and winked. "I'll kick your butt some other time." She took Top by the hand and began to drag him away. "Come on! We have to get you properly equipped."
She dragged him to the armory, where she scoured it for equipment. She pulled out a headset, bomb generator, and a thin suit of very fine chainmail. "Here, you'll need these where we're going."
Going? But...they were just going to the council meeting room...right?...
I followed Gwen to the armory. She gave some things to Top and said he will need it. "Aren't we just going to a meeting?" I asked.
Astraea
I blink out the dust in my eyes as Kirito motions to me. "Come along, Astraea." A frown begins to grow on my face; I hate it when I'm treated like a child. I'm just very hungry.
I follow Kirito outside and spot Travid. He looked dashing with his ruffled black hair and the shine in his eyes. I smirked and sprinted into him at full speed. "Where's the food?" I ask.
Travid pointed to the... Boy? Girl? Whatever was behind him and said, "I gave it the that guy so you wouldn't destroy it when you tackled me. Hey, give her the box with her name on it. The one you accidentally poked a hole into." I frowned and snatched the box from him; someone had eaten half of my pastries... No matter. I stretched my gold-white wings and flew up to a tree, making myself comfortable. I flipped the box open and began happily gobbling the chocolate eclairs inside. I faintly heard the... person from earlier squealing about how he was too young to die, but I barely paid any attention. Oh, the flavor of these croissants, the oh-so-delectable melting feeling of chocolate eclairs in my mouth...
I followed Kirito back into the Council's kitchen and sat on the floor. After finally finishing my pastries, I wiped my mouth off and thanked Travid. Then I smirked and tossed the box into the garbage can. With my stomach satisfied, I could act more mature and attentive, so I busied myself by listening to the conversation that was ensuing.
The boy who had been in the Council kitchen earlier asked, "Are you guys alright? And could I have my bow back? I have a feeling it's important." Xindao nodded and replied, "Well, that IS quite strange, I won't lie." He then proceeded to examine the boy, scrutinizing every detail of him.
Xindao rubbed his chin thoughtfully and continued, "Do you feel as if you lost something a bit more than your bow? Like...I don't know, and this may sound silly, but a piece of yourself? I've only seen such cases on rare occasion where someone spends so much time with their weapon....that everything they are IS the weapon. Perhaps this is what's happened, which means.... Gwen might have put your bow in the target practice room. Stay here."
Xindao rushed out of the room without another word.
At that moment, Gwen decided to speak. "I'm sorry, I got rather preoccupied with the surrounding altercations. Here you go." As she handed the bow over to him, I couldn't help but think how much it reminded me of my own weapon, Aepollon.
Out of the corner of my eye, i saw the two's hands brush together. Both visibly blushed, and as I saw Kirito bite his lip in irritation I snickered. I smirked as Gwen bit her fingernail and asked softly, "May I know your name? Mine's Gwenyvier."
The boy replied, "My name is... I can't seem to remember actually. Heck, I can't remember anything. I couldn't even remember I had wings."
I sighed as Travid pointed to the.. Whatever and asked, "What now?"
"What do you mean what now? We can't just leave him here!" Someone said.
"Then who's going to house him, just for now at least?" Another asked.
"Should be Travid." I joked.
"What! I already gave him my breakfast! Why not you, Astraea? He seems to have a large knowledge of pastries." I laughed and shook my head. "Nuh uh. I don't like boys."
A desperate look in his eyes, Travid asked, "Gw-" Before the question was asked she glared daggers at him. "Nevermind, I guess this is a bit of a landslide isn't it?" Everyone nodded, agreeing.
Travid sighed, then lifted up the... Person. He then left for his apartment.
The winged boy chimed in, "That also reminds me. Because I have no memory of what has happened to me, who or what I am, where am I going to stay?"
"Darn it! I'll have to ask him when he gets back...which could be very late tonight, knowing the Queen." Kirito growled, "Im right here. And I wouldn't take this vagrant in if my life depended on it."
Gwen sighed, "Looks like you'll have to stay in my room for the night.
Kirito snarled, "There is no such thing as God..." then used his chopsticks to meticulously vacuum up his chow mein.
As they ate, Gwen asked Xindao, "So...did you read my note?" The smirk on her face meant that she was up to something. Xindao fiddled with his fingers and said, "Err, maybe... Well, I had to wonder what it was doing there and why there was a strange boy in your room, didn't I? I have to be a responsible brother, or you might be running amok. Why and how DID he end up in your room?"
Gwen blushed and said, "We weren't doing anything up there! " Kirito began to rip into his next dish -grilled sirloin steak- like a ravenous predator. He gave the winged boy a look as if he was the next course.
Gwen continued, " I just found him fainted on the ground, so I carried him in to take care of him. I was not running amok. Besides, haven't I told you not to read my notes?"
She delivered a swift kick to Xindao's shin underneath the table and grinned.
In reply, he said, "Maybe, but I still have to take care of my darling sister. Now, maybe if I was aware of this kind of stuff while it was happening, it might be a different story."
Gwen simply smiled and finished her salad. She turned to the stranger and asked, "Now, what should we call you? How about..." She cocked her head and winked. "...Archemiday?" She elbowed him in the arm and chuckled.
The boy smiled, "Yeah, Archemiday. That seems like a good name. And sure, anything that might help me get my memory back is good." A mad glint appeared in Kirito's eyes, and they blazed a furious crimson.
Gwen finished her soup and addressed the stranger, "The Council meets in an hour. Wanna check it out, Archemiday?" I laughed out loud. How could Gwen not know how uncomfortable and jealous Kirito felt right now? At that moment, Xindao got up, replaced by Top.
Top opened with his usual "'Sup?" and took a seat. Turning to Gwen, he said, "Okay, miss 'I'm the former Queen of the Valkyries' and 'I'm an enforcer slash angel', don't say anything yet. Your brother has already told me blah blah blah about killing and stuff. So, anyway..... Your brother gave me a job. Hope the pay's good. So..... I hear you and your new boyfriend here, dumped Kirito?"
Archemiday blushed and said, "I'm not her boyfriend!" His eyes literally lit up by flames, Kirito grabbed a steak knife and sent it spiraling towards Archemiday, barely missing his eyeball. He growled and stomped out of the room, and within moments we heard an explosion.
Top fidgeted and continued, "You're exploring the Council Building. I'm going to protect you, get some money, and go sightseeing." Gwen was going to say something, but Top stopped her. "I know you can defend yourself, but you might miss something. Anyway, a job's a job, so lead the way, 'lil miss Valk."
Gwen shrugged and hugged Xindao. "Thank you for caring, dear brother. Mister Top here can be my escort." She let go of him and winked. "I'll kick your butt some other time." She took Top by the hand and began to drag him away. "Come on! We have to get you properly equipped."
I sighed. Turning to what was left of us, (Kirito had left, Xindao and Gwen were exploring the building along with Top and Arch) I said, "I'll take care of Kirito. See ya later, guys."
And so I drifted out of the room, on my way to prevent Kirito from going on a rampage.
________
OOC: back! Kirito's all jelly, so you better watch out, Arch! *wink*
Here's some theme music for Astraea. Uranus Queen Rises
Astraea's Wrath
Also, have some Astraea art
(I edited the fork in my post. Lets hope he doesn't think Arch the Bard on the cradle is the same one. That would be bad X3. Still, Halp meh.)
The darkness stirred in its sleep, and the Lord of the Night awoke from his eternal slumber. He stretched his vast wings and wearily looked around.
And he was hungry.
__________
Dawn broke upon the hapless citizens of Al'Mire. Takiza turned over in his bed and pulled his warm feather pillow over his head to drown out the ruckus of morning shoppers outside. It didn't help, so he got up and went downstairs to see who else was up. He stopped short when he spotted a strange-looking boy sitting at the table. He stumbled over to them and muttered sleepily, "Who's the kid? New maid around here?"
