Another core suggestion. Just forget about reading this. Give it a -1 even though it's not google plus.

The core should be opened via an NPC standing in the Sanctuary requesting that knights drop their minerals into a gate after the Shadow Lair. Once a certain amount of minerals is achieved, the elevator to the core will open.

The core opens up into a Lockdown-style room. There will be a party pad and an NPC (from the Alpha Squad) telling the knights that there is a group of gremlins who just broke through the defensive barrier and are preparing to take over the core. That's right. You're going to play Lockdown against gremlins. Swarm gremlins to be precise. However, on your side, you'll have Emberlight gremlins to help you. And maybe the Alpha Squad. And Rhendon. And Biotech Han (whatever he'd do). And some of those slow FSC healing pads outside of the base.

Each CP will be permanently captured once a knight captures it. Each CP will also have a different theme (furnace, wildwoods, etc.). The gremlins will have precise AI's and will work together. Reviving will be instantaneous for the gremlins (at their base), but knights will have to revive by the good old Clockworks rules.

In the center of the room is a Swarm Seed surrounded by the runes seen near the Konjuring Kat. Once the knights capture all points, a wall of rockets will come down in such a way, forcing knights to flee to the base for safety. Gremlins can die or run. Once the knights are at the base, the Swarm Seed will spawn a Tortodrone or a Rabid Snarbolax or a group of Black Kats or something. Then the knights must run and capture all the points again, also defeating whatever spawned in the process. Rinse and repeat. At the end of, say, the fifth wave, Tinkinzar will spawn and... no, that's a bad idea. The core opens, you get 500 CE and a filled mist tank and get blasted back to haven because there's too much energy to handle. Then there could be a mission on how to safely handle raw CE.

Okay, I'm done. Go ahead and tear it apart now, you hungry wolvers.

Not sure about the LD part, but...

" you get 500 CE and a filled mist tank and get blasted back to haven"

And since it costs less than 600CE/person to get back here... Infinite energy?
...oh wait, FSC already gives us that. Never mind :P

I'll have to read over the main idea part later, when it's not 2AM. :3

I'm not even sure if it should be taken seriously or not. And it does cost more than 600 CE because you have to get the shadow key. And the arcade run down to D23. If you get a free ride, then, well... Considering the chances of doing the entire thing without having to pay for a bunch of revs and all too... Besides, how much is shadow lair payout anyways?

The price of a shadow key is split by each party member.

A random question, what was the alpha squad doing this whole time? Drinking tea with the swarm? Did they decide to start the fight *just* when you came?

Also, I am no beast, I am a Greaver c;

"That's right. You're going to play Lockdown against gremlins. Swarm gremlins to be precise."

The alpha squad could have been in control of a bit of the core, building a defensive wall inside the core to hold off the swarm gremlins while they drank tea. The regular gremlins, the non-emberlight and non-swarm gremlins, sound like they wouldn't be in this fight at all. So they get tea too.

Where's player vs beast, player vs slime, player vs construct, player vs undead and player vs fiend? :P

And why would the gremlins attack the core? Didn't they CREATE the core?

@Sky

From Recon Module:

"This world was created to protect me.
Vulnerable in slumber, worlds were drawn to shield me from the darkness.
This world has become my prison.
In his madness, the architect betrayed the pact. Twisting his creation into a game of death, it now devours all who enter its iron embrace."

No.

I don't take this thread seerus, so butts

Why is the swarm breaking INTO the core? it is either A, the thing IN THE CORE or another guardian to help keep it shut. Why are they only swarm GREMLINS? why not knights, slimes, butts, faces, more butts, Klipik, Klipik's butt, or even Nick's butt? WHY JUST SWARM GREMLIN BUTTS?

Greavers are beastly

@little-juances
Yeah, sure, that works. They could be waiting for reinforcements (us).

Remember, guys that there was conflict between gremlin factions. There could be a resistance force building in emberlight secretly.

@skyguarder
That's the stuff that spawns in the middle.

@waffleconecake
There are other creatures but its mainly gremlin because the swarm captured the gremlins building the protection around it. Other creatures spawn in the middle.
