Gun puppy ideas

I had two ideas for gun puppies:

Ironclaw Puppies:
* APPEARANCE: Resembles a rocket puppy with similar coloration to the Roarmulus Twins.
* ABILITIES/STATS:
* 1.5-2.5x health of normal gun puppies
* Shoots lasers
* Lasers deal 1/2 damage of Roarmulus lasers
* Lasers last for the same time as a rocket's flight duration (rocket puppy rockets)
* 5 second cooldown after laser has stopped firing

Blitz Puppies:
* APPEARANCE: Resembles a rocket puppy with a gatling gun instead of a rocket barrel
* ABILITIES/STATS
* Shoots a blitz burst of 20 bullets
* 3 second cooldown after firing
* 50% slower turn speed while firing

It's probably applicable, but due to the fact that the lasers are near unshieldable, and have seemingly infinite range, it'd be pretty damn difficult to balance it properly. Unless said lasers are a weaker version? I'll er for this one.

lasers have a range. zeddy might have it. I only know that the ones you see before the RT and the ones shot by them seem to have the same range. I shoudl go to inspect these one of these days.

Sounds interesting, but would need allot of design testing for how strong it would be. Maybe it could be part of a new boss?

I'll put a +1 here with my suggestion.

Make the range on this laser puppy three blocks longer than the Antigua Lines' range.
Make the laser last for the same length of time as a rocket's puppy's rocket before it automatically explodes.
Make the laser have a five second cooldown so everyone can get in the proper range to attack it.
Give this laser puppy 2.5x the amount of health of other gun puppies.
Make the laser inflict 1/2 the damage (scaled to tier) of RRT damage.
Make the laser puppy have the same animation as the RRT when the laser is about to be fired!
Make two variants: Shock and Fire to represent the two themes in the RRT shadow lair.

I shall now follow with my reasoning.

The range: It is not fair for only gunners to be able to get in range while the pup is attacking. By making the range this long, killing the puppy becomes a team effort where one team member takes aggro while others go to kill it. This also means that team mates will have to watch out for where aggro goes because the laser will need to move along with the laser puppy.

The length: This needs to also encourage smart play with the aggro, because if someone causes the laser to sweep across team mates, then he's gonna get shouted out quite a lot. This opens the door for trolling, but that already existed with shield bumping attacking slimes into teammates and dashing to switch vana's aggro.

The cooldown: There needs to be some sort of recharge time so solo players and two person parties have a good chance at hurting the puppy.

The health: This thing needs to be a challenge to kill (if it's used in conjunction with crowded rooms that make for limited mobility). The increased health and other mechanics could make this a priority target in rooms if the puppies aren't easily accessible.

The damage: While it should be a challenge to kill, it should not be an instagib on knights who can't really get out of the way in time. Make it punishing, but not to the point that it becomes frustrating. Also keep the damage as completely elemental, as it should be.

The animation: Because it looks cool!

The status effects: See above. Shock and fire are the two themes present in RRT, and my proposal within this suggestion is basically to make these miniature RRT puppies.

If you'd like to discuss that stuff with me, feel free. I just sorta thought this up off the top of my head, and I'm really groggy right now so I might be stupidly crazy here.

+1 to this so long it's going to be balanced. I'd like to see it have it's very own room in Clockworks Tunnels.

Maybe a little longer than that.

I honestly don't care. Why not?

Of course, without that it would be the most overpowered thing ever.

Why not? It's a special single-level monster.

What do you mean? The particle effects? I agree with that but I like it having a barrel that extends out like rocket puppies.

What, Shock for normal and Fire for Shadow lair? Or.. oh, I grt it, no status for normal and shock + fire for shadow lair. Right?

I see what you mean. I like your ideas. The cooldown is a no-brainer if you wanna defeat it as a swordsman.

It'd be cool if they always spawned in couples and couldn't be damaged or interrupted but could be killed if they shoot each other. Of course, they'd need to always share target.

That would be an idea but we already have RT for that. They can still spawn in groups of more than one, maybe, but you should be able to kill them manually.

For the status variants, I meant shock for RT and the shock and fire variants for RRT... or at least for future, deeper areas. I like the suggestions because lazors.
