So I've had a guardian armor pack sitting in my steam inventory for a good month.
Current elevator passes are getting converted to 2625 energy for each month of time left on your energy pass
Current Mist Tanks are getting converted to 10 sparks of life each
The new guardian pack states
- Any energy packs containing Mist Tanks have been replaced with 5 Sparks of Life per Mist Tank.
- The Guardian's Armor Pack has had its Elevator Pass removed and replaced with energy
So if I use it now during the downtime am i going to get 10 or 5 sparks of life per mist tank?
And how much energy is being added to the pack compared to the 2625 conversion rate?
Can't decide if I should risk using it now during the down time.
This information should of been released before the servers went down :/

If you use the pack now, I'm assuming you'll get the replaced items, I think.

What the hell for?
- Players can no longer drop vials and capsules they acquire in the Clockworks
Removed the ability to revive by sharing health as well as any heat sharing from reviving. Players may still revive each other using Sparks of Life.
^Sad moment for people who die many times.
RIP TEAMWORK
Loot now drops for each member of a party and each party member must pick up their own loot. You now will earn the exact same amount of loot in a party as you do solo, so party up!

Seriously? Not even 100 energy per day? Pathetic.
Well, some people didn't get the chance to use their mist tank with 100 mist. Therefore, they should be able to get free energy based on how much energy they've had on their mist tank.
Or we would just grind FSC forever and ever and EVER!!

Anyway, a far bigger concern is the fact that you're probably still going to be bleeding energy to have a hope of advancement, only instead of spending it directly you'll be using it to buy the new consumables. The "Sparks of Life" system (and the removal of free revives) in particular seems like an excuse to kill the player every 5 minutes.
Also:
>levelups fail
>pets need food
>loot is instanced
All of these (well, maybe not the last one, but it's a nag begging for a cash-shop "fix") reek of the potential for abuse, more so than the old energy system. This patch may well be the monetization equivalent of that old dynamite-flowers trick; it looks like something good, but it turns out to be a massive pain that ruins your fun.
There are some wonky mechanics here, but I'm very happy to hear that people can explore the clockworks as they wish. It may honestly be enough to try to talk my friends into giving this game another chance.

OH MY GOD YES. I'm so happy that I can play without running out of energy. But then again if I die no one can revive me.

Level ups may fail but if i am not wrong every time you level up succesfully there is a chance to get a UV aslo isntanced loot is not very bad and it pans out since you get more loot and you can play as long as you want. Also feeding pets helps it level up and you only need to feed it a little since it appetite goes down very quickly. The new revive system is now fine because the main reason you will use energy is for reviving hence, lowering ce prices in the long run and you get an emergency revive per level which should be about enough since if you are in a group you will stick together probably or if you are solo the enemies are noticebly easier to beat. Anyway you should be buying sparks of life(can we call them SPOLS?) And in the energy depot SPOLS are quite cheap.
Achievements need to be removed. Specifically: Walk it Off and Helping Hand unless you're just keeping them there for the veterans to look at.

"- After falling in combat without an ER, the primary means of reviving is no longer energy. Players must use a ‘Spark of Life’ in order to revive in the Clockworks."
I think this is a sad day for SK. The energy system was the heart and soul of this wonderful game, and now it is gone. While it could be annoying, the daily energy refill I believe is what made it so addictive for me, but also provided an incentive for in-game purchases. Removing energy revives is also rather crushing, as that was a favorite aspect to the teamwork/strategy of this game.
I'm still hopeful, and I look forward to using the battle sprites, but I'm sad that it came at this cost.
Has anyone else noticed that these changes are making the game more similar to Sword Art Online?

These "harnesses" sound interesting. "Exciting new missions" sound....EXCITING! The game took difficulty idea from another MMO (Elsword) IMO. Loots the same for everyone now! Everyone that finished rank 8 missions could equip 5star

This update seems to have broken Spiral Knights client for Mac.
I was only 2 primal tokens away from a 5* pendant to equip to bypass the equip limit for this update and it was sprung upon me unceremoniously >:@
Also RIP Team revives. I expect to see a similar level of grinding, with the chance that people will be dropping from parties when their free revive is used up, unless they're doing something that can make the cash back for one or two revs.

Still a bit hazy..
Is difficulty still scaled? (ie. more players, stronger monster) Not sure if "Difficulty Modes" means each player will have their own level of mosnter difficulty even in party. I'm not sure how that would work when an player on "Normal mode" is hitting the same monster as a player on "Elite mode".
How would the health/damage be distributed? Will it mean monster has same hp and "Elite mode" players do less damage? =\ or does the whole party have to have the same difficulty
Currently I don't see how partying is beneficial as everyone gets the same loot now and you can't revive teammates.. people might who don't have energy/don't want to spend 50 energy might just rq and leave the party
Also, I hope fire crystals are either abundant, or designed in such a way that the price of them will not continually increase as the economy does, or else crafting items will just be a pain.

Crafting.
Is energy still needed? Maybe i missed it but i couldn't really get a clear picture of how items are created (from recipes) from the patch notes.
WIth no energy required to run elevators, i can see the inflation is going to sky rocket =\ -which *will* make making items even more of a hassle, as well as harder to obtain accessories etc

Well, one thing of the individual items is that now EVERYONE gets that Sun Silver instead of one lucky party member.
Another added plus is the next time they have the Cataclysm. Everyone will get books instead of just one guy.
Now, at the patch notes...
Orbs of alchemy may be purchased in unbound stacks from the Supply Depot, acquired via missions or as rare loot in treasure blocks.

Recipe Changes

They've always been treasure blocks, at least to me. When I first designed SK, everything was a block. It's just stuck with me.
This is kind of funny. I'm at 71%, and my time remaining has been steadily climbing, even faster than it would normally be decrementing. Methinks the update servers are just a *tad* overwhelmed? :P
I have to personally disagree with the fire crystals, the chance of a failed upgrade for an item when the upgrade items are hard to find in some cases i think that that is a little painful to some players. i think that at least some of the crystals should be refunded with a failure to upgrade that is if the system is kept.
I have a question.
I went to the alchemy machine for crafting sprite food. Looking at the 1*, 3*, and 4* foods, we will need other foods to craft them. If there is no other way to get the food, how will we level up our sprites when we run out? Not to mention the 5* ones require Perfect Seerus Fragments, which means you're forcing people to buy OCH in order to get their sprite maxed out. This is a blatant flaw in the system, and it makes the only truly possible food itmes to be crafted at all times to be the 2* one, since you only need Iron Gears.
Nick, if you want the sprites to be a successful update, you're going to need to change how this works, or nobody will be able to get their sprites far at all, and then people might stop playing the game based on that fact.
The sprite food machine requires ANY two materials of the requested star level. It's just auto selecting the first available. Click any other mat in your arsenal that meets the star requirements (that you have 2 of) and it'll swap out.

No problem. We'll be adding some changes soon that makes the food alchemy a lot clearer (hopefully).
The removal of HP reviving and instanced crowns and heat sounds like it's going to take a heavy toll on teamwork elements, but the freedom of being able to explore the Clockworks feels like it could almost make up for that loss.

I was wondering if anyone felt that too, after noticing quite a few similar details like Clockworks/Aincrad, focus on swords, expedition teams, town areas in the steel structure etc. Probably just interesting coincidences though lol

While Elsword is a very fun game(gimmie TT NAO), I think the idea of dungeon difficulty has been around for quite a while. Take a glance at other mmorpgs with dungeons and I think you might see what I'm saying.

Ok,I give up at believing these forums are working for anything considerably.
Noting that all these changes(aside the energy removal) were put to public view with time to scrap some of them(that must have been the case,otherwise posting them here would be of no use other than causing noise).
Remove the energy sistem?Plot-talent wasting,but I can handle.
Remove heating and health revives?Kinda stupid,but can still handle.
Keep the idea people were disaproving the most ,that makes every player have to get their loot separately and (most likely) take more time than nedeed,as well as risking some conflicts with party members and leaders due to impatience?I give up.
Im not saying anything else,I just give up with these forums,gg to all of you.
