It has come to my attention that "Walk it off" is now impossible to perform. After having seen all the wonderful achievement threads that have been posted it would also be nice to see the current set added to and updated.

There's at least 1 more achievement(s) directly affected by this patch, the "Helping Hand" ("Revive a downed party member" with its icon appearing to be a heart with a plus sign) achievement, with the "Jump Start" ("Revive yourself" with an icon of a heart and an energy symbol in the middle) achievement being a possibility.

You can always screenshot

You can always screenshot them and post for brag rights.

Im supporting updating, adding new achievments but im against removing old ones. There should be some kind of symbol that players who gained them were playing game in diffrent times,

Perhaps just a "medallion" in our "artifact" section in our arsenal that is titled "Walk it Off" or something.

@Nick

Please, PLEASE don't mess with those achievements. Removing health revives is one of the worst parts of this patch; it, along with making loot instanced, makes Spiral Knights most enjoyable as a single-player game. If that's what you think people want out of this game, the zillion threads panning the new experience should make you reconsider. Messing with the associated achievements just places another barrier to their return.

Updating the achivments is fine, as long as the Obsolete ones can still be displayed as a " :PPP I've been playing longer than you!"

Update the achievements and remove the ones that new players cannot achieve.
It's not fair for the new players.

I agree with Grimranger. I've never liked games that offer a lot of rewards and items, even if only cosmetic, that become locked to all new players or players that missed the window of opportunity.

That beta artifact I'll never get makes me sad.

+1 For sure, I've had all achievements completed since February 2011. :/

I'm for updating, but removing the now impossible to get ones seems pointless, they should remain, but only for older players, new players don't even have to know about them. Considering the Battle Sprites release, multiple achievements could come off of them, like getting a completely evolved Sprite, etc.

I also agree. The obsolete ones should be removed as a possible achievement to obtain, but will still be displayed if you already have it. That way, we can still show off that we earned it, but it isn't an impossible goal for new players.

What about new achievements?

I haven't seen new achievements added to the game yet. Couldn't you add new ones from the available Danger and Expansion Missions?

Bernston has a point. Those

Bernston has a point. Those missions should also get achivments. Or some thing related, like if you do some thing during them to earn it.

"I want to use it as a way to show off that I played before battle sprites." I understand that, but it will still have the date and time you achieved it. Also it's not fair on the new players. I would have loved to have played this game in the beta, but I never heard of it then :L If you were a new player, you'd want the achievements to be changed for your benefit. It's a little bit like Groundbreaker set. The people who have it don't want anyone else to have it but Steam players feel as if they should get the chance to have it.

I seriously hope they make real achievements that aren't just 'amass this many swords/guns/bombs/minerals etc'. For example, there could be an achievement for completing 'Legion of Almire' equipped with the Almirian set called 'Traitor' or something like that. UNIQUE achievements. Also maybe a crest to show off your achievements.

Instead of keeping (fixing)

Instead of keeping (fixing) old, currently useless achievements I offer to add an artefact or some sort of "veteran" accessory for players who joined before the Great Sprite update.
Artefact is a bad idea - its impossible to use/brag with. Making them more socially meaningful would be a nice touch.
Accessory is a bad idea - it will be lost once its attached to something.
Furniture is out of question as we change guilds sometimes.
So I have two more offers:
A) memorable costume, or, for example, a hat. Bound to knight from the start.
B) some veteran's mark in the rank or elsewhere, where it doesn't jump out of the screen at you but will be visible upon closer inspection.

As for "fixing achievements in the future" - Nick, its something you were supposed to think about before making the update permanent. Although its nice to see some changes in SK mechanics.

Hopefully, it won't take too long to implement updated achievements, hoping to see more of them. Like, sprite-related achievements (collect 5 sprites, woohoo!). I got my last one years ago.

I don't even

I'm not sure everyone here is grasping the implications of this change. Do you like health revives? Do you like the feeling that you're actually playing with the other knights in your party, as opposed to playing near them? If you do, you want these achievements to stay.

Health revives provided a sense of teamwork. You were looking out for each other. Removing them just kills that. And removing the achievements associated with them is a psychological Rubicon - it says "We're not going back on this, screw the old players who like it." And it'll be that much harder to justify bringing them back.

Can't find it right now, but OOO staff have posted in the past that they do read suggestions, however they don't like to comment for fear of influencing the discussion or being misinterpreted because, well, they're OOO staff and anything they say is treated as sacred because they say so little.
