Please let us know what you think of our totally awesome Auction House that we built for you fine folks and any other feedback you may have as to how to improve it.
Thanks.
You ruined it by adding the crafting limitation. Good job.
It means you'll have to own the recipe is all... I wouldn't call that ruined, necessarily.
Also, come to think of it... this reminds me of PSU for some reason (Besides SEGAs involvement) now.
@ randomfkl
It means that the whole market for fausts, silversix's, etc. is now entirely dead. The same for all other 4*. It also means that f2p gamers are royally screwed.
For the complete PSU experience we need techs and tech MAGs. Get on that guys!
I fail to see how it royally screws f2p gamers when CE is openly traded. If that stops, yes, there'd be problems, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
@Feynt: Dont forget they have to be almost completely worthless until you cap the heat, and they need a few billion heat to cap. Also, if you aren't a Newman, they're still worthless even then.
If by "awesome" you mean "ridiculous".. then you are right, sir. I think this is the update that makes me stop playing... the crafting limitation is stupid!
*Copy-pasted from my topic*
WTF?
Making items that were bound when used for Alchemy bound afterwards won't really affect me, as I don't sell anything but mats(And even then i only do it when i'm bored or need money)but i CAN se how it WILL kill a large-ish percent of the market, between that and the Basil thing(why remove minerals from terminals D: ?)I see a moderately manageable version of the trade channel in the near future(If it doesn't just fall into oblivion due to the auction house)but really, that's the only good thing about it.
Now, the reason i posted this was because of the fact that THEY RAISED ENERGY COSTS FOR CRAFTING!
could someone please explain the reasoning behind this? I really don't see what this will do aside from making people even more pissed off than they already are(And that certainly won't help anyone).
-EL
.
I'll tell you the reasoning of the crafting limitations & CE raise:
They want more money, and less players.
Mats are going to hit rock bottom prices but there is no reason to craft past 4* more than once anymore since you can't sell it so there is no reason to get mats. Awesome
*reads the patch notes*
Well... That's... disappointing. My guild actually has people who happily level up 4 star equipment to craft the 5 star stuff they know (like wise owlite to grey owlite shield). I considered this community sharing a positive thing. I also enjoyed purchasing higher star items from people so I didn't have to buy the recipes myself. As well, a friend of mine did crafting for me. We'd share resources and get better gear as a result.
I also don't approve of the "you can't buy from Basil, nyah" change either. All this does is PROMOTE mail fraud by having other people buy recipes while they sit at Basil, receiving money and mailing off recipes (or, not...). This solves nothing in my opinion.
Honestly, changes of THIS nature should have been discussed with the community first.
Addendum:
Actually with regards to the "mail order recipes", it makes things worse. Not only do you not know if someone is actually at Basil with this fantastic array of 5 star recipes you want, giving money to people by mail is not something the GMs can provide support for. But you know that people are going to be calling on more GMs for this because "I paid him for a recipe but he never gave it to me!". This is going to make in game support worse. The only way to stop this issue from happening is to prevent the trading of recipes, but then you're going to screw over one of the primary functions of the auction house.
Personally I'm a bit upset at the lack of notice of a change like this to crafting (bound 4/5* items only). I was in the middle of working a brandish up to a Glacious for the sole purpose of selling to others, however now that it's a blizzbrand and level 6, there's no way I could get it to Glacious in time before the update makes it so it'll be bound upon crafting it up to a Glacious. So now I'll have a worthless item in my inventory because there wasn't enough notice on this update. And before you try and say just use the Glacious, I've got a Glacious with Very High vs constructs so I can't get anything better.
I'll reserve my comments on the rest of the changes till they are actually released.
The Faust / Avenger market etc. Was already dead.
moving on. I think the auction house was a huge necessity, and will be a great success.
The restriction of not being able to sell high star gear is curious, I guess it makes it harder to obtain, but at the same time, will be interesting to see.
Also might increase the price of lesser gear with better UVs...
also, TBH, the Auction house is good and all(although since a good chunk of the market is being killed off simultaneously, maybe not)as is the traing grounds(plus all the other various good stuff)all the good things from this update are being SEVERELY overshadowed by the blatant bad things, from my Point of view.

@ Paska
You must not play the same SK as i do. Seeing as i see people selling dozens of fausts daily.
4 and 5 star premades will no longer be able to be made after the patch. I wonder how high the prices will shoot up?
* Using a bound items in alchemy will result in the finished product being bound as well. For example, crafting a 4* item that requires a item of heat level 5 will result in an item that is bound to the crafter.
Nope.png
As a paying customer and someone from the preview days, I would have to say this is an awful update. The auction house sounds great.. but the crafting limitation is the deal-breaker for me. I think I will also no longer play this game. Please give me my money back!
Eury keeps sending people here for all feedback on the patch, so here goes.
I hate the change to crafting where items stay bound. You just screwed over every crafter in the community.
I don't think my crafting detracted from your income. On the contrary, it raised it. People like Delcore were buying energy just to buy items from people like me. With us gone, they will stop. I also spent several hundred thousand crowns on recipes that I had no intention of EVER making for myself. Now those recipes are worthless.
Great job.
More over, I am furious that you made this change without notice. I have items I was crafting for people where I've already taken materials and money that I will not be unable to deliver or refund. Thanks a lot.
1. I don't like the idea that you made all the crafting items bound now. Like others have said, some people are nice enough to level up items to level 10, to get you a 5* item, and with this update you will have to do all that yourself.
2. WHY would you raise the energy prices to craft????
That doesn't seem like a good idea. I personally think that the way the energy is right now for crafting is enough.
I am a free player, and getting energy right now is hard... but it makes you want to play the game more, and makes you have a goal.
3. I understand why you did the Basil thing, that makes sense. I agree with this actually.
Thats all i got to say.
-Garfunckel
It says it will cost more energy to craft AND re-crafted items will still be bound to you? Now the CE price will shoot up for crafting, and the mats will drop becuase you cant make money of built weapons. Sucks for free players, cause thats the best way to get money for the soon-too-be more expensive CE. I should just go play league of legends...
I'm more concerned about the rise in crafting costs. New players are already under the looming shadow of paying a good 500+ CE to get any piece of 5* gear, bar all the other requirements such as crowns, materials and the recipe itself.
What is the reasoning behind doing this? I do not know how much data you have tabulated, but this seems to only further discourage players from playing. Short of being in a prominent and organized guild, your chances at getting a 5* are shot without paying for CE. I forked out $30 for this game because I believed the direction you (Nick) and your team were taking was a good one. I don't regret the investment, but I'm not sure if I will continue to support after this.
This is not a threat as I genuinely love the game and am curious as to what was the turning point in such huge decisions regarding crafting (Energy Costs/Binding).
P.S: What is the point in making an auction house of half of the goods people intend to sell can't be sold post-update?
So Jelly runs for the antiqua's and sealed swords are pretty much useless? Damn wasted my tokens on antiquas now that I can't sell them :/
Hm...I think the reason is because you could just buy like $30 worth of CE and that would let you buy a full set of 5* equips and hit endgame as soon as you start the game. It kind of messes up character progression if you used real money.
This is complete BS. If the powers that be wanna go change something to the game as fundamental as trading and heating items they should give us warning. I just wasted 1000 CE trying to get a UV on a shield for a friend who already has the recipes, so she can heat and upgrade it for me. Not to sell, but for my use. And now all those rare mats and ce is just gone? How about a little warning so people can finish what they already had in the works before. And some compensation for those of us getting royally screwed.
oops double post, my mouse suxx : P
Shops
* You will not be able to purchase 2+ star items from a terminal vendor if you have not completed an entire floor before reaching the terminal. Never buy a 'Basil port' from another player unless you're in the market for 1* items!
One time I tried something. I made it to depth 12, then invited a friend and had him go into depth 13. The recipes were there, and then I had him return to haven, and try to rejoin the party.
I couldn't, so I ended up just going down into Depth 13 Basil. The recipes were the same.
Couldn't we just stay at depth 12 that has been cleared and market teleports from there instead? Or do the newcomers have to have participated in the clearing of the level?
Also, this is almost taking on a Monster Hunter feel, where only low level items can be traded. I'd hate to be rude, but why would you ever think about this? Yes, this will stop people from "Buying" their way to tier 3. But yes, it will also kill the equipment market. People will only sell materials, crafters cannot craft anymore, the need for recipes is going to skyrocket, causing a huge crown sink seeing as everyone needs their own individual set, jelly tokens are redundant past 145 tokens (1 of each Armor, Gran Faust, Divine Avenger, Sentenza, and Argent peacemaker).
This is the kind of changes that kill a game. Instead of promiting the interaction between players creating a very interesting economy in the process, you increased the annoyance and grind factor by a huge margin.
You want us to buy more from you (and i have, a lot of us have), but this was a low move. We expected you to improve the market, not to kill it. Now you force us to grind and die of borement.
I'm not spending a dime on this thing.
Hahaha people get so angry because they can't buy their way into 5* gear anymore!
The best part of playing this game for me was progressing _myself_ and making _my own_ gear. I fail to see why this is such a problem for so many people.
Sure you won't be able to make as much money off selling your heat, but then just find better ways to use your heat. Make some equipment for a costume instead of constantly trying to rip off noobs by selling an item for about 1000CE more than it's worth mats and crafting reqs-wise.
The auction house is something people have been asking for since practically Day 1. Maybe if we could stop sniping back at the devs for giving us something that we've asked for incessantly, they'd be more inclined to listen to our other requests?
Damn...shoulda crafted all my 4*'s sitting at lvl 10.
I'm just wondering how the UV market will turn out..
Edit: Woah this thread blew up fast. @ Devs: Better equip your Firebreak Shields with Max Fire UV's..
Nick, this is basically like a big FU to the loyal players!
Let's analyze the new crafting rule:
As someone stated in this thread, I can see why the decision to not allow players to trade high end gear was made. This game is built around farming for gear and allowing people to buy 5* gear defeats the purpose of the game. (I have a friend who we constantly bash on because he spent an undisclosed amount of IRL cash to buy a full set of 5* then quits shortly after)
Now... Some of you will say that this kills the game economy and that no one will be able to sell any weapons anymore. However, you fail to realize that people will continue to buy MATERIALS. Obviously, the prices of materials will rise dramatically due to the fact that we cannot sell weapons anymore. Not only that, it will rise even more so for materials for weapons like Avenger and Faust where people who want UVs are forced to farm for it themselves rather than rely on others.
800 energy?! 400 energy?! are you guys out of your mind? Game over guys. You just lost 99% of your visitors.
Very bad news, unless I see PvP or new boss anytime soon Im quitting this game, AH? whats the point now. Training grounds? really, Im very dissapointed right now.
I understand the Auction house and Basil changes, but I'm not following the logic of locking 4 and 5* tradables. Was this to stop the multitude of Sealed Sword-derivative sales? Was it to prevent players from buying 3+* gear without actually playing? I'd like a little more insight into the logic of that decision.
I'm interested to see how the prices for recipes and crafting have changed. I suppose I'll hold my opinion until I see that. Increasing the cost of Haze Bomb crafting made sense, but I'll be a bit leery if the 4 and 5* items went up, as I felt those were priced right on the spot to force you to use CE.
Hate it. "Heres your auction house that you've allll been waiting forever for!...btw we made it useless in the same update. "
Has anyone thought about increased energy costs making it harder to mass crafting specifically for UVs
this is something players already at 5star gear do to make a goal for themselves.
Higher energy costs will mess with the CE market even more.
Also CE bought by real dollars will be less valuable at the current dollar to CE ratio since you'll need more CE to do the same thing.
With the new crafting limitations, really the auction house is useless. By adding these limitations you're going to make buying CE useless because people cant use it to buy the items they want, many players will be be upset that they can no longer sell there 4 and 5* gear, and you're making it much harder to play for the players. The auction house is good, but only if the limitations are removed can we fully enjoy it. Please, don't limit the item crafting.
Try Bloodline Champions. Best PvP experience i've had in my life. (and plays a lot like Spiral Knights). And you can play for free with few limitations. You can pretty much be the best BLC players of all time without spending a dime on it. And you can play all you want, no CE thing or anything similar.
Yay 800 energy to make 5* items.
BIG FU as well....
Great job killing all the non-paying player base in this game. Our only way to make CE for runs was selling premade 4* / 5* items to newer players, now you just killed that whole market for us. Staying inactive after i drain up my mist everyday till this gets fixed.
5000 cr 800 ce? totally awesome update indeed.. Try to play without paying now!!! hahaha
i was PLANNING on buying more CE(With IRL money)eventually, but now I very much doubt i will.
I don't like the update to bound crafting either, for a simple reason. There's been two ways to hunt for UVs: craft a zillion low level items, and sell the fails below cost; or, craft up through the whole chain and sell the 5* 'failure' for a profit. Now there's only one way: throw away tons of money.
Of course, it works out great for Three Rings, it'll create a very newbie-affordable environment and a very expensive high-level item environment, and the change is early enough in the games life that people won't even care in a few months, but to me, right now, it smacks of heavy-handed profiteering, ensuring that there's going to be tons of wasted low level swords that nonetheless cost CE to make. (I'm pretty certain there's enough UV searching to overwhelm the auction house with more 2* swords than will ever be sold, maybe 2* everything.)
Although if I'm totally honest and look past my own play preferences, I can see that players were never intended to be able to buy into top-level gear on day 1 and this helps curb that problem. Since the gear -is- the character - all your 'character sheet' powers come from gear, not character stats - allowing people to buy into 5* on day 1 is like allowing them to buy into a level 36 paladin on day 1 in a D&D based game. ('fraid I haven't played WoW to give a more contemporary simile... )
Anyway, from the notes, I like almost everything else about this update except the bound items crafting. Especially the fixes on basil ports and JK runs which always smacked of exploit to me anyway. Sorry 'bout that to those of you who were enjoyably profiting from them, but thems the breaks in the name of game balance just like the one that's bruising me.
@Eurydice & nick: You're locking other threads because this is the feedback thread, but if this is the -update- feedback thread generally, it's wrongly titled, though the text does invite feedback on the rest of the update.
800 energy?
I like this game a lot, but this is too much. I'm quitting for now.
all in all the change regarding the disposition of bound items is not only ridiculous but has the potential to drive a good number of people away from this game. There are alot of people that were crafting items that were 4 and 5 star for other people since the recipes were so hard to find. I myself have been looking for the last month for the dragon scale armor. When you couple that with the fact that more than half the time I hit the midpoint terminal there is nothing that is 5 star in the way of recipes couple that with not being able to get the item from someone else and that may end this game for me. I don't mind hard but make it close to impossible for me to progress even somewhat slowly and I will go find something else to do rather than waste the time and cash here.

Wait a sec...
I have currently 2x caliburs with uv medium ctr and uv very high gremlin, wise wolite shield with medium shadow, and ash teail gear with uv medium curse and normal defence all on level 5 now. Was to level them up to level 10, upgrade them and put them into the ah...
does this now mean i am stuck with those item i do not need for myself? why would i need a 2nd shield or 2nd set of vog cub coat?
Also i bought many over 60-70 recips for which i not only paid enough but the 90% of the crowns spent inot the 4* and 5* recipts are now useless since i cannot craft and sell them?
Since you gave no warnings it seems i just wasted around .... 10000 ce i will never get back?
How will i be compensated for this loss?
10000ce costs around 25$ to buy and i am sure not going to pay you, because you robbed me.
Honestly, I don't even care about 4*s and 5*s being bound right now.
But I just checked my recipes for 5*s.
800CE crafting cost.
400CE for 4*.
200CE for 3*.
...No. Just no. This won't ever work.
Congratulations on rushing a major change that will certainly make you lose several players. Any kind of player that did not purchase any CE before seeing this will be incredibly turned off and will most likely abandon the game. Or the rare ones will actually purchase CE for this. But this is just plain ridiculous.
Those ridiculous prices won't save the game from the problem of the ease of getting to endgame. I mean, they will, but the counter effects they'll cause will be much more serious.
Listen. To. Your. Freaking. Players.
And stop. Attempting. Ridiculous. Balancing. On your own.
I disapprove. It's not up yet. Is it broken? (jk)
