I had stopped playing this game in late May, only occasionally checking into the forums for any new updates. It was only today I noticed the new Battle Sprites update. My question is, is it worth my time to get back into Spiral Knights? The new update looks good but I'd like to hear the community's opinion.
Is it worth coming back to?

Depends, really: A lot of the new changes actually work pretty well expect one: Heating is atrociously slow and annoying now.
So, if you have a lot of 4* and 5* items you want to make or heat, STAY AWAY. If not (already have everything you want) or you some how dont mind the horrible fire crystal grind, I say give the game another try. It almost feels like a different game with the Battle Sprites, Elite difficulty and new revive system.

I think I'm going to stay for a while. In response to Burq, I'm planning to start a new character anyway so that shouldn't be a problem immediately.
Battle sprites are fun, and they're not even really the biggest part of this update. That would be the complete overhaul of the economy. So a lot is new. On the other hand, it's still the same basic Spiral Knights. You're going to be grinding for minerals. There aren't any new bosses or missions (to speak of).
So you should try out the update, but don't be surprised if it holds your attention for a little while and then you go dormant again. Fundamentally, you're always going to gobble up new content much faster than Three Rings can produce it.
