Proposal for a separate "Tierless Lockdown"

I want to propose a modified version of Lockdown in which winning is hinged more on skill, teamwork, and strategy than gear acquisition and selection.
It should not replace the current Lockdown, but be offered as an alternative for those who are interested.
Tierless Lockdown, as the name implies, would be open to all tiers and require no personal gear (costumes are optional)

Please provide constructive thoughts/opinions regarding this proposal (ie. explain WHY you like/dislike).
Feel free to point out holes I've overlooked or make your own suggestions. I'm hoping to get an admin to at least look into the general idea.

-------------------------------------Tierless Lockdown-------------------------------------

Everyone be provided the same normal damage weapons (Calibur, blaster, blast bomb)*.
Everyone will be provided full cobalt armor (apply costumes so they can look unique).
Players can select from the same 3 classes, each with the same health and movement stats as the normal Lockdown.
Shields also operate in the same way.
Gameplay mechanics would be the same as regular Lockdown.

*Limiting the weapon selection will push players to try weapon combinations instead of going all sword, all gun, or all bomb.
It will require more strategy in combat rather than strategy in weapon selection. Developing strong strategies in combat is much harder
than figuring out which weapon works best, so much more challenging and entertaining.

In the locker room, a player can access the "LD panel" which allows you to customize your knight. They are as follows:

1) You can unequip/equip weapons [need at least one weapon equipped, default is all equipped]

2) You can select one class to have all weapon damage bonus HIGH against. [Default is striker]

This preserves the ability to have damage bonus, but only against certain enemies. It also makes predicting
a foe's destructive potential harder. A team must strategize damage bonus placement to achieve maximum performance.
The beauty is that damage bonuses can be "secretly" changed throughout the game, so players will have to continually change their
combat bonuses/playstyle to keep up with the enemy.

3) You can distribute 3 "boost points" into 3 different traits: Attack Speed Increase (all weapons), Charge Time Decrease (all weapons), and HP increase
Each trait can be boosted up to 3 points in a way similar to the skill point distribution for pet attacks.
Each point is equivalent to a LOW level UV or +4 health.
[Default is one point in each trait]

This frees up the bonuses that used to be tied up with classes/gear, giving players more freedom to experiment with combinations and strategies
It also allows more variety within members of the same class. Most importantly, bonuses can be changed during gameplay, keeping the combat environment
dynamic.

DISCLAIMERS:
I copied and pasted from notepad.
I'm not very forum savvy.
I like making disclaimers.

I like this! Although it has been proposed many, many times, tierless lockdown sounds fun. It would also be fully dependent on skill, not equipment.

I really like it.

Caliburs are painful to use with latency, or I have no skill with it.

This is basically Blast network legibility combined with sprite features and Lockdown gameplay. ._____.

I don't think spending half the time in the game playing around with skill points is a good idea.
You might as well remove all point-modifying attributes of the class modules and just let everyone assign what they want for the game before it starts or something. Complicated system in actual fact, but would probably provide better strategising as it goes on.

I can see a lot of issues with newcomers and veterans together. Newcomers would not know what to do, Veterans would be fed up at them.

I'll support this because it's an okay idea, but if it goes through I'm just gonna stick to normal LD anyway.

Giving default weapons removes variety.

LD might be an unbalanced mess, but that makes it interesting.

Taking the "bring your own gear" aspect out of LD makes it an extremely generic domination gametype, the ability to create so many diverse loadouts is what makes it unique. (even though it doesn't really happen, I would hate to lose the ability to do so.)

"I don't think spending half the time in the game playing around with skill points is a good idea."

People don't spend half the time in current Lockdown changing loadouts. What makes you think people would be frantically changing bonuses all the time?
Who knows, maybe there will be a dominate bonus strategy that people will have a hard time to counter.
Locking in the bonuses before the game begins will make the game outcome too easily swayed by SK's superb team making system. Allowing the bonuses to be changed during play means a team can organize itself to be very efficient if it's members are cooperative.

@Juances and Klipik

The point of this tierless lockdown is to provide a venue for those who do not wish to accumulate the gear to effectively play normal lockdown. If you truly think it is bland to play with normal weapons, you don't have to. Please read the entire proposal before dismissing it.

Klipik, please clarify what you mean by generic domination. I believe the bonus system I've outlined gives the players enough mobility to develop new strategies. If anything, this makes it easy for ALL players to experiment with different tactics. You wouldn't need the money to buy new gear just to test out a new idea. You can just go in and do it.

Give a hypothetical example of how a skilled player would become unstoppable in tierless lockdown but not in regular lockdown.
